    Honestly SteelSeries is doin big things. As someone who cares alot about fidelity in my headphones but none WHATSOEVER in my speakers, this does intrigue me. They look good, the RGB adds a little flair, and I think theres a lot of opportunity for these to really be a great speaker option at a competitive price point.
    I'm not crazy about the mic either, however I do think the concept in theory is really cool. Some better battery life and NC and they might really have a winner.
    Great review.

    I've been using the G560 for a couple of years and It has been the go to when it comes to gaming speakers. I would love to see a comparison. One thing I like about it is it fits under the monitor for multiple monitor set ups which is not viable for some other options like Audioengines

      I got my G560's a year ago and I have had soooo many issues with them due to Logitech's terrible software and drivers. They power cycle every 10 minutes if I use any up to date software and drivers and if I don't use the software I get the gross rainbow vomit RGB cycle. I am constantly fussing with them and am relieved these Arctis Arena 7's are here. I am selling my current, buying the Arctis, and avoiding anything that uses G-hub like the plague in the future.

All the fixes Logitech support has walked myself and many MANY other people through doesn't work. It might be some sort of incompatibility issue with certain components or software. I have the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 system and I've had a really hard time finding anything that rivals its price versus sound quality. I purchased the system new from Amazon for $70 back in 2019 and have deemed it one of the best purchases I've ever made. It gets extremely loud, provides house-shaking bass, and doesn't distort at higher audio levels. I'd have a really hard time paying $300 for this Steelseries system, even considering the companion software features and RGB lighting. It still probably doesn't sound anywhere close to as good as the Klipsch 2.1 system.

Both sound and build quality are amazing, easy to setup and adjust to whatever you like + the look fits way more setups overall and doesnt specifically bring that "gamer" vibe. The bluetooth function works amazing as well! You dont really need a sub with it but if u do combine em, it really brings out the potential of the speakers! Way better investment imo

I connect mine either to my PC, but whenever I have people over, I set them up in the living room and can connect them to either bluetooth by just plugging them in, or to any console or TV with the aux connection. I also have their sub paired with them but that's really an added bonus if you're looking for something extra. They sound and look amazing. I'd still recommend them over anything else tbh. Nice to know there is (finally!) a brand new 5.1 option in the market (albeit expensive, as one would expect) that is not the insanely old (but still good) Logitech Z906...
    In the world dominated by headphones, as the one we live today (that is so different from the one I grew up with in the early 2000's with my beloved Creative Cambridge Soundworks 4.1), I know products like these, both the 2.1 and the 5.1 systems, will not have mass appeal. But it is still good to know that we now have at least an option that has caught up with the times in terms of tech and design. Kudos to Steelseries for taking a chance with these!

      @@badseedtech It really depends on how much real estate you have to work with. I'd say that bookshelf speakers usually take care of the mid-high range and a subwoofer (10~12") is really recommended if you want the best experience.
      However, if you have space you can also just go for floor standing speakers which won't necessarily need a sub. One thing I know for sure is two things:
      1: I will never go back to "gaming" speakers
      2: Don't trust reviews, trust your own ears. Most speaker reviews are overly positive and what might sound good to them might not sound good to you. If you can, go to a physical store and listen to a couple side by side.

      @@badseedtech For what it's worth, I actually recommend picking up a set of powered or active speakers. On my desk, I run an Asgard 3 as my headphone amp/pre-amp out to a pair of Presonus Eris 5BT' bookshelf speakers. The setup is simple: PC > Modius DAC > Asgard 3 (Pre-Out) > Presonus. The sound is plenty for whatever I need, but is it pricey - especially compared to a traditional gaming audio setup. I'm not sure how much powered bookshelf speakers have been covered on your channel (I know you have done some excellent headphone comparisons). I think your audience might benefit greatly from knowing about these types of options.

      @@SilverJoystix The biggest issue with active speakers/monitors is that there's no real way to upgrade. You're really dependent on the amplifier inside the system which does fail at some point. Having a separate amplifier allows you to swap out anything that's not working and easily/cheaply upgrade to other monitors. That's my 2ct anyway. I have an AV receiver that I use as an amp so I can switch between my record player, reel to reel tapedecks (2x), PC and use it as a standalone bluetooth speaker as well.

    I went down this road (twice) with both the Klipsch ProMedia and the Razer Nomo. Neither ended well. Both suffered amp failures pretty quickly. They did sound good (very good in the case of the Nomos), but the durability wasn't there. The answer was to go with more audiophile oriented powered monitors with an external DAC/amp. I ultimately went with the Vanatoo T1 speakers paired with a Schiit Hel. A Cambridge sub was added a bit later and this worked out very well indeed. Later, a second machine demanded a sound system and I went with the Vanatoo T1E monitors with the same sub and the Hel2E. The T1E is very impressive, though the price is getting up there and they do take a fair amount of desk space. Best of all, both sets of monitors work well with the Steam Deck over bluetooth.

  • @dividead100
    @dividead100 Год назад

    "Gaming features" aside most people would be better off with larger monitors, they have both decent bass and good resolution, the only real minus is that they take more space but the difference in sound quality is worth it if you have it. And no, no one needs the LEDs on their speakers or in general but if you must have LEDs buy separate lighting.
