    Would love to see a roundup of best desktop speakers for music/media/gaming combo use. I have an older logitech 2.1 system, which I bought for maybe $75 ten or more years ago has done the job admirably. But would like an upgrade to something nice, but not crazy expensive. I use a headset for FPS shooters etc. but do like to just run speakers when playing single player AAA titles. But I also use my speakers quite a lot to listen to music during the day while working so want something that does both reasonably well and doesn't break the bank. My headset is the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7 and have been very happy with those, so may check this out.

    I got the Logitech G560's, which seem to be the inspiration for these, when they first came out. I can say, without a doubt, that more bass is not always better, lol. It took 3 years of firmware updates for the G560's for them to provide enough tuning adjustments, especially for subwoofer leveling, for them to go from sounding 'good...ish' to 'really damn good'. I really like the additional features of the Arena 7's, but they aren't enough to pull me away from my G560's, now that I've finally got them tuned and EQ'd to where I like them. I don't need the DAC, my G560's have the same RGB concept and features, and I have nothing that needs the additional inputs.
    That being said, if I didn't already have the G560's, I would be really, really tempted by these. Awesome review, as always, and I love how in-depth you get with the sound quality and acoustic analysis.

      @GadgetryTech  Год назад

      That's tough. Honestly they are too different. TYGR is more comfortable for me, and I can wear them all night. With IEMs, I have to take them out for time to time. EM6L has better FPS performance for me, and makes me feel like I'm more connected to the game. The sense of detail is immediate, with great punchy bass and dynamics. The TYGR seems to perform well with less effort. It's still very spacious sounding, but is also smoother to listen to, which may be better for longer gaming sessions (listening fatigue).

      They are 2m at least. More than enough to place sub anywhere under your desk, I had partially folded mine. Definitely not enough to place the sub into other corner of the room.
      If you need to extend wires, look into any other 2.1 system that have 2 wires coming from sub to every speaker. These speakers have too complex cabling.

      However sometimes when playing single player games it's nice not to be wearing a headset.. reason behind this is I have family,and sometimes I just can't hear them calling me ect..and playing single player games, honestly there's really no need to be so cut of from the world!
      That said I don't want bad sound quality..so right now I'm on a mission to find some Speakers that sounds great but are good value for money also!

They are also THX certified which means your are guaranteed a quality level of sound. Point being is there are actually several 2.1 speaker systems under 200 that compete with or rival these Arena series. I am happy you get enjoyment out of yours, but I think jorgeal2k is correct. My wife bought me an equal in almost every way logitech 2.1 last year for Christmas for about 170. I like them just fine, however I wish they were the Klipsch Pro Media instead.

      @@ManOfNantucket I can find the Klipsch once for that price, imported to Germany. Maybe they just aren't available here anymore, pretty sure there were at one point. By the way, it has the same size drivers as the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX. Thought about Logitech but most of their sets are terribly unbalanced in terms of sound signature, I really didn't want to gamble on that, so, these were the best option with a subwoofer, even if they are fairly pricey, the results speak for themselves. I think jorgeal2k is a hypocrite, comparing these to shelf speakers, which you can't even connect to a PC without a proper setup, which can easily cost more than those Klipsch speakers you mentioned on it's own.
