I’m currently having a Perlenbacher Bavarian lager 🍺. The review is absolutely spot on. It’s Sunday 7th January and there’s 3 cases sitting on the shelf in Lowestoft 🤷🏼♂️. I’m totally convinced that it’s due to the can design. It’s very similar to the Octoberfest weissbier sold by Lidl’s.
I didn't get to the end of the video as I rushed down Lidl to buy 12 cans of that Perlenbacher 😁 Great video Simon. Don't worry about the wrong glass at Christmas, I once put sherry in an ale glass 🤣

If you want a class Italian beer you need to try Forst Spezial...its amazing beer...as good as any Helles I've tried. Not sure why it's not made it over here yet as it blows the other Italian beer sold here out the water. Btw managed to get the Lidl helles...really good bier...Prost! Thing is with Lidl sometimes they don't advertise their stuff in the leaflets...this was nowhere to be seen online or in the leaflets...then it suddenly appears...few months or weeks later it vanishes without trace and your left with Perlenbacher dishwater....wake up Lidl!!!!!!!
Aldi's Rossini, Mapelli, Rheinbacher and another one which is now discontinued (a Spanish one, think it was called Carullo which I THINK was imitating Estrella as it had a red label, later replaced by one called San Marcos - no prizes for guessing what it was imitating but it didn't last too long) were all staples for me during Covid lockdown, and indeed semi-lockdown where pubs were open but you had one or more of the following deterrents: only able to go outside, only go in with your own household, have to wear a mask unless you were sat down drinking or eating, have to sign a register whereas I would have had 2 weeks off work unpaid if anyone in the pub at the same time had it as I couldn't work from home, or have it with a substantial meal which may or may not have been a scotch egg it was so unclear 🙂 Oh and Steinhauser even if it was only 330ml bottles!
I agreethey can really vary between batches. I've had some great and awful Aldi 1897 korneuburg knockoffs. I'd be interested in a video over a year or so comparing different batches of the same beer
Called in Lidl a couple of days ago and noticed the Perlenbacher cans had changed colour,bought some and I thought it tasted better than I remember,may just be imagining it.The cans are white and gold,and say “Brewed according to the German purity law” on the can.Wasnt as sweet as I remember.Cans were always green before.

Since you brought up the fact that France has loads of breweries, I feel obliged to tell you that the French are legally allowed to drink beers or a glass of wine on there work lunch breaks, your mistress enjoys a glass of wine while you sup some lager before going back to your emails, while your wife waits at home in that French way

I had a bier Morrtti yesterday. Undrinkable. Tasted like tin and mud. Had a stenhauser directly afterwards. Washed the nastiness away.
