This song is a metaphor for rough relationships and how sometimes a couple would fight to the point they feel like killing eachother but will always make up at the end. Also this band is a metal band and primarily make metal music but they are a versatile band too and have classical, country, soft rock and even poppy songs.
Not to be a dick but... I'm pretty sure none of that is intended to be a metaphor. It's just a crazy, tongue in cheek Halloween story, a la Tim Burton, Oingo Boingo, etc... Nothing the band has ever said (to my knowledge) had indicated it's a metaphor? Lol I could be wrong-cite me a source :)
The main theme of the song came from a dream that the old drummer had (he passed away in 2009), a dream that involved skeletons and all that stuff. So they decided to make a song with all this madness, darkness and theatricality. The most different song of the band in my opinion. It's worth react to more songs by them. I loved the video.
