This is false. It was someone else that wrote their lines. Em said he wanted it to feel natural so it was better if he didn't know what they were gonna say. In an interview Anthony (papa doc) said Em told him that he researched him just before their battle. So because he didn't know what Em was gonna say, his reaction in the movie was his actual reaction because Em roasted him based on his real life.
This is exactly what Tyrion Lannister would say "never forget who you are bcoz the world wouldn't. Always wear it like armor and it can never be used against you" This is exactly what Eminem does.

This Cherokee grew up near Detroit and knows where 8 Mile is at. I'm a Metalhead but Eminem caught my ear with his real words and truth. Great movie in the theatre and album 🔥🤘🤘🤘
I just love these guys. I have two sons in college, and this is how I hope they have fun with their friends and roommates. Such personalities from all of them. They brighten my day!!!
Thing about the 2nd verse is that it’s shorter but that line about going home and writing your verse and taking the mic home with you is just so quietly complex. Yet it sounds so simple. It’s truly a unique talent that idk if any rapper has ever actually properly been able to imitate. Dude rhymed 'Pencil' with 'take the mic home with you" lol
Fun fact , the stuff Em said to Anthony Mackie, some of it was true. Antony revealed that piece of info on an interview and that Em asked him before this shooting this scene to say some stuff about him and he said that's cool without thinking about it , but what Em said here actually shocked him at that moment too.
I love this movie and this time in my life when jt came out so much. It holds a special place in my heart. I was 15 and life was so free and and carefree. I miss these days sooooo much
I'm an old white lady now... but I went to the theatre 3 times to watch this movie. I LOVED hip hop long before Eminem hit the scene...but watching him rise to fame was an epic time in life & an exciting time in music! And he's still the GOAT!!!
I love how y’all started jamming to Shook Ones. This is still by far one of my favorite movies! Had the pleasure of seeing this in theaters the night it came out. Love y’all’s reactions! Keep at it!
One thing that you can admire that I can understand also is that the people that had his back they were loyal He's loyal to them it's just admirable there's none of that really ever being talked about. I've been down in the trenches and the most unlikely people have my back and a lot of them don't even look like me.
I just love watching these guys, they give everybody a fair chance regardless of race or whatever. If everyone were like that, we'd be in a lot better place. They call Eminem the "Lyrical Goat", he is damn good and, from what I've learned over the yrs watching him, he really embarrasses his own self therefore taking that power away from others. Very smart. Thanks for sharing.
"I gotta go back to work." is my favorite line in the movie. Does he just mean he has to get back to his" job", or could he mean he now has the confidence to write great music and is about to get busy doing just that. I like to think it's the latter.
@@erichayes547actually, it was both. Movie wise yes, he means literally getting back to his job, because he asked a fellow coworker to cover for him for a couple of hours. But it is also a metaphor for him actually starting his career as a rapper, as this movie is loosely based on Eminem’s life.
little known fact. the ending of this movie, the freestyle battle was inspired by one of the fiercest rap battles ever known to man. if you want to know what inspired this ending, check out "Iron Mic: Eli Porter vs Envy". So many of todays rappers always mention both Eli and Envy as the standard to a freestyle battle.
fun fact about this last scene. lotto was not apart of the cast. in between shooting these scenes the crowd started battle rapping. the producers and em decided to host a rap battle and the winner would be in the movie. lotto won and got his lil moment to be in 8 mile.
These 4 black lads reviewing this are awesome! I love the fact they just judge on lyrics and colour plays no part! We need more of this in the world today!❤
I love watching you guys. I guarantee you Eminem has watched you all. He is the GOAT. No question. He didn't have to act because he lived it. Props to you all for keeping up with Marshall.
I have the original movie on DVD. Back in the day we had to go to a store to buy the shit. It was a limited edition at the time so it has all kinds of crazy extra shit that ain't nobody seen unless they own it. This whole scene was so crazy like if you watch it in slow or pause a lot, you'll see people in the crowd you know as celebrities now. A lot of the crowd was extras but also in the underground rap scene back then. So they all did music in one way shape or form. There were actual battles done as auditions to find the best of the best to be featured. There's also a ton of cameos throughout the movie. This making me wanna go thru that extra shit and enjoy it for the millionth time. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
This battle is a testament to how Eminem handles real beef. He pretty much says everything his adversary would say so he can’t say shit back. Thats been his approach with most of if not all of his diss tracks
I remember first seeing this movie....my Friend at work seen it a little while earlier... he asked me what I thought of it... I told him that it was freakin AMAZING! I told him we should go across the boarder to Detroit and go watch some of these rap battles on the weekend... My friend said... are you crazy! We'd be the ONLY while guys there! You wanna die! ? I'm like....we're not gonna die, we just wanna watch. Common.. lets go. He didn't want to. I love all types of music and having 2 guys who are great rappers would be awesome to watch! You might see someone rap before they become famous!!
Much respect to Brandan for getting his school on. This was one of the best scenes for me but I have to say when Free world shot at Rabbit and his homeboy panicked is my favorite.

Lovin' your reaction & to me Marshall has like shark eyes... 👊🎶 My favorite line is at the end "tell these people somethin' they don't know about me"... He won instantly! Cuz he already roasted himself!!!! That's the magic of Marshall, he's authentic and real that he crosses the color, culture, everything line cuz he touches at the heart of us all! You can't just pretend to be that way.... He's the real deal, and why millions of people love his music and message.❤
"I don't know what they told you Mike, but you must have them cornrows rolled too tight" "You worked in this plant so long, you're a plant" My favourite bars from the Movie. Plus the scene with Obie Trice where Future (Mekhi) spits too
He was sick a period, you can see in the cut battles. But the black eye was cause he got jumped by them boys. Em didn't wrote for them as stated above me.Busta and Craig G wrote(for those who weren't battle rappers).Papa Doc had no idea what Em was gonna say.The cut battles actually have Marv Won,one of the best battle rappers and when he sais this story,he said Em was really freestyling and upset that he was sick, and wanted to redo the battle w him😃
Tina Turner is a legend and you’ve got to watch what’s love got to do with it. It’s history. Rip Tina and Brittany Murphy. I need to watch 8 mile again.
When he was asked if was afraid of what was gonna be said agaist him, if its true in real life, thats how he guided his carier. Talking about him before others could ❤❤❤
I always thought the coolest part of this scene was the Mobb Deep sample and shout-out. Ain't no thing as halfway crooks. Mobb Deep don't get enough credit and Em gave them a spotlight.

This Cherokee grew up near Detroit and knows where 8 Mile is at. I'm a Metalhead but Eminem caught my ear with his real words and truth. Great movie in the theatre and album 🔥🤘🤘🤘
“That’s the type of bruddas you need…” that’s real 💯🤞🏾
I just love these guys. I have two sons in college, and this is how I hope they have fun with their friends and roommates. Such personalities from all of them. They brighten my day!!!
Thing about the 2nd verse is that it’s shorter but that line about going home and writing your verse and taking the mic home with you is just so quietly complex. Yet it sounds so simple. It’s truly a unique talent that idk if any rapper has ever actually properly been able to imitate.
Dude rhymed 'Pencil' with 'take the mic home with you" lol
He rhymed Pencil with Suspenseful
Fun fact , the stuff Em said to Anthony Mackie, some of it was true. Antony revealed that piece of info on an interview and that Em asked him before this shooting this scene to say some stuff about him and he said that's cool without thinking about it , but what Em said here actually shocked him at that moment too.
For real? Oh ok
I go to concerts in the shelter a lot (where this is set, but not filmed) and I always think about how Eminem started out there. So crazy
Keep up the Eminem stuff. Brain Damage, No Apologies and Welcome to Hell are other great tracks full of bars
And Ghost stories
Brain damage is fire
Agreed on Brain Damage. That is Eminem storytelling at his finest.
Mail in the coffin especially
Remember me
Do you notice in every round he rides the whole free world he disses all of them in every round it makes me laugh so hard Eminem does this flawlessly
I love this movie and this time in my life when jt came out so much. It holds a special place in my heart. I was 15 and life was so free and and carefree. I miss these days sooooo much
There's just something about that beat of the final rap battle that brings back the old school hip hop vibes ❤
8 miles is such a good movie, nothing too crazy just fun to watch
I still got that movie because Grow up Eminem music video
Damn…..Rabbit made this man change his whole life and become captain America…
😂
His actual job cause he asked Paul if he could cover a hour of his shift
@@erichayes547 Maybe it was both.
Lotto’s verse was insane. Props
Em wrote it all.
@@dcg590you can diffently tell
*Right RIP LOTTO*
Em used to watch leave it to beaver
You know what's really crazy about this, all his opponents in these battles outside of papa doc, had to audition to be in this scene.
RIP Britney Murphy 🙏🏼 she was on of a kind. She was the chick flipping Em off at the end.
fun fact about this last scene. lotto was not apart of the cast. in between shooting these scenes the crowd started battle rapping. the producers and em decided to host a rap battle and the winner would be in the movie. lotto won and got his lil moment to be in 8 mile.
These 4 black lads reviewing this are awesome! I love the fact they just judge on lyrics and colour plays no part! We need more of this in the world today!❤
Me too!
in that dvd a rap battling female almost took em down, he flipped it on her of course, but she went in hard at him
cameos
proof, obie trice
@@donniewinter5331 she was insane dude!
"Here tell these people something they don't know about me" Coldest line.
Its Anthony Mackie, who's friends with Em to this day. Mackie was in Hurt Locker, Pain & Gain, The Marvel movies, and a ton more
funny banter in the beginning.... "that man fell asleep in his bed, with the lights ON" lol
That Mobb Deep beat goes so hard!
Man the fact that em wrote most of all of the bars is impressive
You might see someone rap before they become famous!!
ems "but i know something about you" gives me chills
Y'all got to do the deleted rap battles. He was killing those rappers!!
Much respect to Brandan for getting his school on. This was one of the best scenes for me but I have to say when Free world shot at Rabbit and his homeboy panicked is my favorite.
Papa Doc went home, put on his jet pack and became the Falcon. And that is how his origin story began...
Years later i remember every word of this rap...I love this movie ❤
Goes to show that Mob Deep track is one of them hardest tracks ever on wax & myself being 50 I was happy & appreciate as a mug Eminem went all old school on his 8mile movie..👍🏽
Best reaction to anything I’ve ever seen.. this film, introduced to me by daughter, caused me to dig deep…back Biggie, Tupac and Nwa
WuTang
Loved the reaction gentlemen…..and yes I’m an old whitey and I realize it took this to get me into the genre…
That said I dig deep into it…we all have our ways
Much love from bangkok gentlemen2
I love Gangsta rap music like 50 Cent Eminem and 2Pac
Papa doc became the falcon tho, so eminem did him a favor 😅
Cranbrook Private School: "Why he gotta say fuck me for??"
Read that in 50 Cents voice 😂
You can really lose yourself (pun definitely intended) in this movie and watch it like your watching actual rap battles. Its so damn good
he roasted the guy so much he became an Avenger
When Future is jamming then gets roasted and then that hey wait face gets me every time🤣
You should react to the bonus rap battles
It was real battles they did with the crowd,Em took on rappers from the crowd
bunch a beauties right there. Love you guys. gives me hope for humanity
Lovin' your reaction & to me Marshall has like shark eyes... 👊🎶
My favorite line is at the end "tell these people somethin' they don't know about me"...
"I don't know what they told you Mike, but you must have them cornrows rolled too tight"
"You worked in this plant so long, you're a plant"
My favourite bars from the Movie. Plus the scene with Obie Trice where Future (Mekhi) spits too
I smile no matter how many times I watch this scene.
I heard awhile back that Eminem researched Anthony Mackie's real upbringing and used that information for the final battle in the movie. 🥶
My fave line in the battle is " and Clarence parents have a real good marriage "! I love it.
"Silly Rabbit, I know why they call you that, cause you follow Future like he's got carrots up his a$$ crack" always kills me! LMAO
I watched this movie 3 times in the cinema...absolute great movie :) Eminem is a legend. Unbelievable what he achieved in HipHop
Talking about him before others could ❤❤❤
5:17 ive always love the smile he has cuz it shows he know shits about to go down and he wants to see it
I always thought the coolest part of this scene was the Mobb Deep sample and shout-out. Ain't no thing as halfway crooks. Mobb Deep don't get enough credit and Em gave them a spotlight.
Is it weird I have been able to quote each round from both sides since I was a kid? Lol loved this video.
6:16 bro bit his lips, understandable tho.
One of the best endings of any movie. It was brilliant. He went in and ripped the soul out of PD.
I like hanging out with you cool guys!;; y’all make me feel like I’m right there with ya ❤! My vibe❗️💙
Gotta react to My Darling, song is 🔥 way ahead of its time
Mekhi Phifer was Proof, a lot was accurate but condensed into a movie with Kim (Brittany Murphy) and Mom
I like how everyone started dancing in the last battle 🤣
That's what u like? Lmao wtf
