The dude in the LA hat is the best reactor. He always has way more knowledge on the videos beforehand than the other reactors. He also genuinely listens to the performer, be it a musician or comedian.
How to feel old: Watch a group of guys who grew up with rap music say they’ve never heard an Eminem track. It is fun to see them get their minds blown by his flow and lyrics in real time though, you never forget the GOAT now guys.
I love how eminem pointed to the parental advisory sticker. He telling all the parents that complain about him like I put a warning on the album if you're kids are listening to me it's your fault parents. Em is a genius.
I don't know how he could have made it any clearer than picking up his own CD and literally POINTING at the parental advisory! Like "Hey! Idiots! This music is not for kids, so why are you letting them listen to it"?! It always makes me laugh how stupid people are - if parents hadn't made such a huge deal out of Eminem's music would he have been as popular?
I bought my son Eminem’s CDs when he was about 13 or 14. There are bigger things to worry about in the world than swearing/cursing! Eminem is an urban poet and deserves respect for his talent. My son is now in his mid thirties. Listening to Eminem did NOT turn him into a bad person!! 😊
No actually in case you don't remember when this album came out there was a massive controversy with stores like Walmart and Target and them being required to put this advisory on their albums. It actually got to a point where Walmart stopped selling uncensored music to where all you can get were censored albums
@@MsDawnKeyballs And a lot of it was prompted by Lynne Cheney testifying in congress that he wanted to rape and murder women. That's the whole reason she got the big diss in 2002. Ten years earlier and it was Tipper Gore doing the same stunt "for the children" with different music groups (including Anthrax). But in the moment when Eminem hit the scene, it was Lynne Cheney trying to dunk on him in Congress by testifying that he was obscene. THAT, combined with her husband's known war-mongering history, is what lead to the diss of both of them in the song/video. Dick Cheney had a history of heart attacks, so that's where the whole cables and battery thing came in.
Boys, there is so much history that you are missing to understand just how sick this song is. He was burning EVERYBODY. If we went line by line I would have to write a paragraph each to give you the back story to a ton of his bars.
Thats the best part about eminems music, there is so much to dissect that you can be hearing it for the 1000 time and you go like "oh shit, so thats what he meant"
And I love that at all his concerts the crowd screams it now. He can't sing it anymore because she sued him, so he agreed to stop saying it, but that doesn't mean WE can't!
It´s so cute to see you guys react to Eminem :) I´m a 37 years old white woman, and Eminem is still always on my playlist to this day. He is magnificent. He´s got so many songs in his early albums that are not so know where besides showing his fantastic lyrical skills, are truly really deep, such as "Rock Bottom". Worth checking are the albums with D12. Strangely enough, my favorite song from him is "Deja Vu", so complex, personal and deep. You are in for a treat when it comes to Em! Btw, english is not my first language, and I always say that thanks to Eminem my english is as good as it is now :D
Shit I'm 49 and remember like it was yesterday when all the hype of this sick new rapper that is white and can battle rap hard. Then it all hit the airwaves like little by little almost Testing people's reactions to see if he is too much or or what lol
Dude on the left is the enthusiastic fun-loving guy, dude in the white is the intellectual one, and the other two dudes are the introspective types. Great energy, keep bringing it
Made the same comparison on one of their other videos the other day and to quote (I think dude in the durag) the guy on the right is the "smartest dumb dude" in a no-hate way.
As a kid who grew up on Em. If you werebt there, you wouldn't understand that when he says "feel the tension soon as someone mentions me" that was real. He was freaking everybody out and you loved it or you were totally disgusted by him and he was so influential, parents were mortified their kids loved him so much.
This is so true. There really was like, a holding of breath if Eminem was mentioned. Like, can we play this at a school dance? Will parents come with pitchforks? Thank God my brother is 8 years older and had already broken my parents with the rap world 😂
100%. I was a Christian teenager who didn't listen to him, but knew of him and 8 Mile and Lose Yourself and actually a lot of his songs without knowing it. There was all this stuff about banning him/censoring him and Congress got involved and while I wouldnt listen to his music cuz of swears and content, we knew it was important to not let the Government decide what could and could not be allowed artistically. I believe it was around that time that the warning for explicit language and warn parents labels would be put on album covers. Course, that only made teens want it more. I do appreciate it now and the E label for songs on Pandora so I know what not to play for my kiddo. Anyway, once I was a grown up with my own kid I started listening to Em and enjoy much of his music and respect him for all he's done. Oh, the other things was Em did not cave to the pressure and negative press (and there was lots), he would double down and write things about ppl in his next song (thats why Dick Cheney is mentioned in this one.) I respect him for staying true to his beliefs.
He is actually so intelligent. There are endless cultural references in this rap. Add the video and you could listen to it over and over and catch something new every time.
@@KingdomHeart556 They don’t look that young lmao, I’m 23 and have been listening to Eminem songs since I can remember. He was always on the radio, tv and then RUclips. Then 8mile and D12 you’d literally have to be living under a rock not to have heard of Eminem (I’m saying the lads in the vid are faking it)
Definitely look up the documentary what the black community thinks about Elvis Presley. He grew up in the ghetto and was completely inspired by Gospel and black music. When he sang other peoples songs he did it because they wouldn’t get heard. It blew up the original artist more by him singing their songs which was his plan to integrate all music. Also his main back up singers were black women. If they were turned away from a venue he refused to play. He did not care. If the venue created a fuss and then allowed him he would put his back up singers as front and center.
Yeah the racist side of ripping off black artists came from the record execs, not Elvis himself. And the proof is that they completely ripped off Elvis too, he went broke after being the Eminem of his time
I’d like to add BB King said this in an interview in 2010 about Elvis “Music is owned by the whole universe. It isn't exclusive to the black man or the white man or any other color. It shared in and by our souls'.”
forreal. Too many people try to shit on him and pretend he was just stealing music from black people. Nah he was singing music the way he heard it his whole life growing up, just like anyone else. Most of them are just kinda racist towards white people and gotta have an excuse. Not his fault he grew up around alot of black people and didn't view them differently and ended up picking up some stuff.
Eminem's flow was untouchable in this period. The Osama thing, remember this video came out like a year after 9/11. Eminem showing why he's the king of controversy
I was in Middle School when this came out, and to this day, I can still rap like 95% of the lyrics. It's like muscle memory at this point. Eminem really was a lyrical genius. Hope these guys give his collection of work a listen.
Absolutely right there with ya! And how many people watching this will "get" why Robin is climbing the side of the building the way he is?! I love all the references!
Me 63yr old grandma too. Listened with my kid and my grandkids. Who are all adults. I had some fun there since I found out I would be a grandma at only 37. Wasn't grown myself lol😉🤘🏼
I'm a 62 year old grandmother, and same. My kids introduced me to Eminem, and when his new album was released this year, I got together with my 3 kids, and my 2 grandsons to listen to it just after midnight. I honestly don't know anyone, of any age, who doesn't like him.
My mom used to hate us kids listening to Eminem back in the day cause she thought he was a bad influence, but after we made her watch his movie 8 mile and actually reading his lyrics she understands where Eminem came from and now she is a hard-core fan of his. We laugh cause Eminem converted our mom.. This Dude is a Legend!! 😎😎
My mom listened to Every album that I wanted before she would let me listen to it. She listened Em more than I did. Finally she started buying her own cd's. Mom is in her 60s still listening. She loves Rap God.
Love it. Elvis actually did tell people where he got his music but no one would listen or they would just shut him down. Elvis grew up in a black neighborhood and learned from them and always gave the credit.
i'm 28. Time flies. If you're below a certain age, it's hard to understand how huge Eminem was in the early to mid 2000s. The music industry has changed so much, back at the time this came out, people still bought CDs, music videos were huge, when someone made it big in 2002 they made it BIG. The average music consumer today has so many options because of streaming and the internet but back then, record labels were the gatekeepers of the music people listened to, there wasn't as much music available, and you usually had to physically buy the CD, but the quality of the music that was available was way better than the average album that gets released today. No rapper has come close to Eminem's popularity from when he was in his prime, it's impossible to get that big with the way the music industry is structured now.
I'm 40 and grew up listening to him... He was the biggest rapper around. He was the only white rapper around. Then a few years later... well everyone who's white tries to be a rapper. And... That was Osama Bin Laden, not Saddam
You really accurately described my thoughts on how big Em came to be. Man to this day the Eminem Show is my favourite album ever. Every single track on that album is elite work.
You are 100% correct. Not even drake is in his peak would have been able to do the sales eminem did with mmlp and the eminem show. Eminem is the biggest rapper of all time
Eminem nearly did 1.8 million first week with MMLP and that was only in the US. I'm from Australia and he was absolutely the biggest thing ever over here and holds multiple records still to this day for album sales. The Eminem Show was monstrous when Without Me came on the radio as th lead single and then Cleanin Out My Closet and the album dropped and Business was released as a single along with superman and sing for the moment. The combination of mmlp rolling into the 8 mile soundtrack and movie release same year as the eminem show eminem was legitimately as big as the Beatles.
I'm a 57-year-old black women who grew up in Queens New York in the '70s and '80s. I was out there when guys were running cables setting up technique turntables in the park with crates of records listening to guys battle. As I got older I stopped paying attention and basically sort of outgrew rap and what's out today is just not something I have an interest in.. Eminem was after my time but I remember when he hit the scene and hearing some of the songs and how clever he was and in my opinion has somebody who grew up listening to grandmaster flash Eric b and rakim, etc and even singing with my own eyes I think Eminem is lyricly the best rapper in my view. He speaks literal poetry to where you actually have to go back and look at the words and marvel at how he worked it all in together. It's genius. I think she is the best, lyrically.
"Cause I'm back, I'm on the rag and ovulating" he's right with the surface meaning but it's a double entendre and the second meaning is "Cause I'm back, and I'm flowing" 😆🔥
@@shawnpiette5372 hey little shawny , why don't you start uploading reactions so that we can see how many bars you can catch . It's very easy to comment with your little Cheetos fingers . go watch Knox hill
Eminem is raw and real. A true lyrically genius. His flow is effortless. There will never be another Eminem. Appreciate what your listening too because you will never hear another rapper quite like him!😎
You gotta find his demos. They're out there, I used to have all of them. They're absolutely insane, and I mean like he raps like a crazy person. But they're fire.
I fucking love that you guys are appreciating the genius of Eminem, if you guys can believe it you have only scratched the surface, there's so many amazing songs on his early albums, I would name some but guys need to at least do the Marshall matters lp and Eminem show in whole because they're both incredible
I'm so in love with all y'alls reactions!! I'm 44 years old and always have loved Em, since day 1 he blew up! I grew up about an hour from him in Flint and could relate to a lot of his lyrics coming from simalur Cities and backgrounds...so back in the day I couldn't wait to hear his latest song/album. When this album came out I was around 19/20 my friends and I ran out and got it, jumped in the ride and listened to the whole thing..stopping at parts of the song to laugh/comment at how freaking crazy his mind worked and how amazing the songs/lyrics were to each and every song. Our minds were blown. He is one of a kind and ain't nobody coming close to what he's bringing. It's funny 20 plus years later watching a new generation hearing it for the first time and you all having the same experience/reaction. Thanks for sharing....y'all are very entertaining and definitely have my subscribe!
@JenMc I agree with you 100. I’ve loved Eminem’s music since day one and was hooked instantly. Eminem is the Goat and I don’t think we will hear another artist come close to Eminem with his lyricist, word play, bars, rhyme schemes, story telling, etc…. I love his brutal honesty and not afraid to go after celebs whether it’s a pop star or politician. He says what’s on his mind. I respect his love for Hailie and would destroy anyone that says anything about her, such as MGK or how he references her in his songs, like When I’m Gone and Mockingbird. Do you have a top 5 Eminem song list? Keep in touch.
@JenMc did you see the dark skin saviors, Asia and BJ’s, Life with Recklezz, and Tay and Steph’s reaction channels? They are all fire and I like they spend time breaking down Eminem’s bars. If you haven’t I would recommend checking out one of their Eminem reactions. Do you have favorite reactors? I hope you enjoyed the weekend and have a beautiful week! Stay in touch. Take care
Elvis did admit his inspiration came from growing up in the ghetto and singing in black churches. You should react to Elvis and the Black Community. He also refused to perform without his black backup singers. He also wrote a song after MLK was assisanated called If I can dream in MLK Jr's honor.
It's the difference between "appropriation and appreciation" all boiled down to appropriation, he just happened to become wildly famous because of it. To this day people say he "stole it from the Blacks". Some people detest truth.
Yup. His management wanted to "sanitize" black music for the masses, but Elvis loved southern gospel, spirituals, etc. Hard now to understand how progressive and influential those DJs and studios like Muscle Shoals were in bringing black artists to white audiences. Since Motown, Soul Train, etc., if a white artist wanted to be taken seriously in soul or R&B, they had to be insanely talented. Eminem is a modern example.
It was absolute lyrical genius. He dissed Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit), Chris Kirkpatrick (NSYNC), and Moby so flawlessly that people who don't know anything about the various beefs have no clue what's going on.
@@cshepard09 He even threw in that Osama Bin Ladin caricature at the end, and people who weren't at least age 6 have no clue what that was. "Why is that dude in cammo waving a white flag and doing the "running man"?"
I don't think anyone can really appreciate this track or the entire album without knowing the cultural and media context of when Slim Shady became popular during his time.
I laughed so hard at the “on the rag and ovulating” part. Girls don’t ovulate on their periods. They’re two separate and opposite parts of the cycle. He’s saying that he’s a contradiction in this bar. Lol 😂
@@laurajaynenolan2149 you’re a woman (presumably) and you think you ovulate on your period? It *can* happen if the cycle is all over the place but as a general rule, they’re about two weeks apart. Lord have mercy 😬
@@kenyonsgirl415 I did reply before but I can’t see it now. It’s very unlikely but it isn’t impossible. You can get pregnant on your period. Day 1 of your period is day 1 of your cycle and as each day passes, you are more likely to conceive. It also doesn’t have to be all over the place as you put it, (obviously most people have a 28-30 day cycle but some people have a longer or shorter cycle that still runs like clockwork) it’s more likely to happen when you’re on certain methods of birth control, other hormonal changes can have an affect as well including high stress or even an irregular sleep schedule. You’d be surprised how many times patients have said they couldn’t be pregnant because the only time they didn’t use protection was on their period.
If a rapper doesn't write their own lyrics then they literally have no talent whatsoever. If they were singers not writing their own stuff, that's different bc singing itself is a talent. But if you're rapping someone else's lyrics then that's like lipsinging someone's song because raping is basically just talking poetry to a beat. Anyone can do that. The lyrics are the talent. If the rapper ain't writing their own stuff then they're trash. Point blank, period.
I think Eminem and 2pac if he was still alive would be the greatest rappers of all time. 2pac was great at telling stories and making points that made people think about shit that really matters it's almost like when 2pac died Eminem took his place in a way. love your comment by the way. happiness and luck to you. have a good life piece out ✌
Hands down the baddest rapper that’s ever been. He took everything he heard from the masters like Rakim etc… and took it up 10 notches. His rhythmic flow is unlike anyone out there. I’m 53 years old and remember buying this CD the week it came out. I played it over and over again and couldn’t believe the talent I was hearing.
There was an interview with Eminem where he explains how he says words in different ways to give them different meanings and also to get them to near rhyme to each other. Wish I could explain it better but it really shows how his style is very unique and poetic.
I've seen other rappers to the same in more recent years. Kanye West does it, and I've heard T.I. do it as well. Maybe it became and established trend I guess
It's the interview where he complains about people saying there's no word that rhymes with orange (then does a whole phrases full of words he made rhyme with it by moulding his annunciation of the words as well as combining two or more shorter syllable words). You can probably find it by searching on YT for "M&M rhyme orange" or some combination of them words.
I love watching you guys! I worked in a music store years, and years back. When we closed the store, one of my colleagues used to play this track FULL volume. It's fantastic! Sending love from Cape Town, South Africa!
Bruh my guy in all white is getting every lyric down. He is a true fan way to get it. You hit every nail on the head. He basically explained this video all the way through, em would be proud.
LOVE that you were catching the bars that most people miss because they are either focusing too much on the visuals, or laughing too much at the visuals. One thing that has to be taken into account is the humor of Em's old videos. They were made funny so that they would get airplay on M-TV, that would have normally NOT played his videos due to lyrics. But the "gimmick" of "funny videos" worked, and Em became a STEADY feature on M-TV at the time. So much so, that when he says stuff like "M-TV would be so empty, without me" it is actually true as their ratings would take a noticeable drop if they stopped showing his videos.
They’ve been definitely listening to this song for years before this video. They better have catch every bars. I know people younger than these guys that have listen to this choke times. I still love these guys’ reactions ❤️
very true. my girls in their late 20s/early 30s now and this was all played back in the day with the comedy to as you say, to tone down the controversial lyrics.
@@SS_DT yah my bad i think Eminem is gonna rap until he dies but i wonder sence rappers are taking shots at him again when dre dies i think it's gonna be all out war for who wants to be number one
I can remember those times when artists had really pushed the limits for creating a music video with a meaningful content. Those were the days when MTV was so popular like every artist cant get enough of making music videos.
So many rappers are hating on Eminem and say he isn't the GOAT. But has any rapper ever done the shit Eminem did? Like the Slim Shady alter ego and stuff? What he did was different and a risky style.... It's totally different then most rap music. And it worked out perfectly for him!😂 He has more fans than most rappers can even dream of! Eminem is in a league of his own! I grew up with listening to so many rappers. 50cent, Tupac,The Notorious B.I.G, The Wu-Tang Clan, Snoop Dogg and many more big names. And then you have Eminem!!! The only one I still listen to a lot. (mostly his old music) Not because he is white dude.... But because his style and flow is totally different and so unique. He can do everything. Sending a message, fast, sad, mad, serious and totally crazy shit when he used his Slim Shady alter ego! And don't forget what happens if you diss Eminem and/or talk about his daughter!!!😂😂😂 Killshot hit MGK so hard he got send to Barbie land and turned into a pink dressed Barbie doing punk music!!😂 And ever seen any rapper try anything close to the Slim Shady style and other stuff Eminem did? Nope!!!😂 There is only one who can pull it off and it was so damn original!😂 Imo he is the GOAT... but I have to say... I like the old Eminem more than what he makes now. But I do understand... he is all grown up now and so is his music style. But damn.. I wish he would make just one more Slim Shady track or even a complete Slim Shady album!😂 I remember how my mom hated his music and took away my Eminem cd's... but in vain.... Because the next day I went to a friends house and he made copies of his Eminem cd's for me!! And after taking them away 4 times she gave up and just let me listen to Eminem!😂 But it's sad she threw away my original Eminem cd's and all I have now are the copies that friend made for me 20 years ago😅
This is the song that made me fall in love with rap music. I was 12 when this came out and hip-hop was not popular here in Italy. It was 2002. I bought all his albums and then discovered a new world. Started going backwards listening to old school's legends and kept following the hip hop wave till now, watching it evolve. I gotta thank Em ❤ Now that I'm 34 I'm enjoying old Rock, I discovered your channel searching for Kiss reactions lol This is so cool. MUSIC has no limits. Keep on vibing ✨️🎶❤
They’ve 100% heard these songs before, no doubt.😂 It’s just a bunch of fake reactions, but I think they’ve found out that the earnings in this “fake reactions” type of buisness is too good…
I'm an old man (1962) who grew up on STYX, JOURNEY, FLEETWOOD MAC, BOSTON, FOREIGNER, ELO, FOGHAT, AC/DC. Just wanted to say it's entertaining and refreshing to watch your reactions and discussions to new material (at least to you). Your very knowledgable and open to different genres. One request: the Outlaws-Green grass and High Tides! Has the best, in song, guitar solo I've ever heard (they opened for Foghat in 1980 here in Louisville). I thought they should've headlined. Keep it up guys! Listener for life!🤪
😂 this is hella cute, watching these young men gettin’ a kick outta shit that was big when we was in high school. This is all a lot of us did after school was watch MTV, BET & VH1 music videos and memorizing the lyrics. This was like an anthem for a lot of us growing up, Eminem was so big lol. I’m in my mid thirties now and it’s awesome to see these throwbacks are still being enjoyed. You guys are fun to watch!
Yup, highschool time... Having it recorded on tape to play on walkman, or burned on cd, to play on discman... No bluetooth headphones like today, but struggling with intertwined wires, batteries that last short... Those where the times. 😊
You guys gotta listen to all his songs. OMG your missing ALOT guys! He's like this always. That's why he's a legend. ❤❤❤❤ im 63 yrs old and i love Em! In the beginning of this he was talkin to the vice president's wife cause she was trying to get him banned. Etc.... it was a trip back then. Hes still great 😅❤❤❤❤👍🏻
There's so many references to the (pop) culture of that time. Dick Cheney, the Real World, the talk show with Sally Jessy Raphael, the movie A Night at the Roxbury a.s.o. Plus he played all of the characters like Elvis, the girl on the talk show and more. The rhymes are terrific and the video is hilarious. Great reaction guys 👍🏻.
To understand this song, you need to understand all the beef Eminem had with so many people back then. His mother, Limp Bizkit, Christina Aquilera, Moby etc.
This is so awesome like its such a vibe when u love music n u give a song a real listen..im so happy for these guys to get to take these older songs in n experience what i now realize we take for granted i was born 86 i was like 12 1st time i heard Eminem ...it was a wild time looking back now
Hey guys! I am a 50 year old white chick and I love your reaction videos! I love watching you appreciate the music that I grew up with; it warms my heart. I love many genres of music and Eminem was really my introduction to rap. I adored him from the first listen, such a lyrical genius! And yes, for a while Prince was 'The Artist Formerly Known As Prince" and he turned his name into a symbol. Don't know what that was about but I'm glad he got over it. Keep doing what you do and I will continue to tune in. Thank you!
Prince was getting sued, and figured you can't sue someone without a name, so he changed his name to that symbol, but they all referred to him in legal documents as "the artist formerly known as Prince" and sued him anyway, so then since it didn't work he changed it back.
Hmmm He also grew up in a very poor neighborhood with a lot of black peope. After MLK's death, he didn't wanted to play any Southern state and he sang a tribute to him on live TV. His appreciation for black music was second to none. Its the colonel who was a racist piece of shit! Controlling his career... Eminem also comes from that same culture.
Prince was unhappy with the release schedule that Warner Brothers had set for him and they wouldn't budge. Because the artist "Prince" couldn't legally do anything about it he changed his name to the symbol for love as a slap in the face to the studio and gained the freedom to do what he wanted. Genius!
Not going to lie I would definitely watch a whole reaction video of you guys watching 8 mile. Its so interesting watching younger ppl enjoy the music of my era. So nostalgic!!
Legitimately one of the best rap songs of the 2000s. I don't appreciate the violence against women in some of Eminem's songs, but this song is still top tier.
Im new to this video. Not sure how ive missed it in the past. Anyway i just wanted to say,. What a handsome bunch of gentlemen you lot are ! ❤ great video as always. Much love from the English countryside. ❤
Just takes time for people to find it. Mainstream stuff will always be watered down. That's why it is mainstream, it is appealing to the most amount of people/simple
With all due respect, how old are you, fellas? This can’t be the first time you’re listening to this masterpiece or any Eminem song, he is a must, bro 🫡 Regards from Mexico.
@Mitch Connor man I'm 24 and I know almost every word of this song and it's not like I was an eminem superfan or anything. It's actually insane if they've never heard this
It's awesome watching younger guys like yourself listen to GOATS from before your time! Be amazing if you guys started reacting to 2pac, Biggie, Jay-Z old stuff, Nas, Rakim, BIG L, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. You cannot be a full rap fan without listening to Eminem and these GOATS I just mentioned!!! 🐐

Happy New Year 2025 is going to be great.Prayets for PEACE scross the Globe ❤️🇱🇷🍀🙏💜😘
The best part of Eminem's songs are all of his pop culture references i think, they give you a specific emotion or feeling you got when witnessing or hearing stuff. Like the christian Aguilera line, or the one about tommy lee and pamela
When he talks about Prince turning himself into a symbol that is talking about when Prince took on the record labels and they owned his name Prince so he could not produce anything under his own name without being sued by the label. So he decided instead of letting them steal his name and forcing him to try and rebrand himself under another name he would give them the big middle finger and keep producing his own music on his own label and would represent himself as a the symbol for male and female. There is so many references in this song to things you would only catch and understand if you lived in the time period that a whole book could be written just about this ONE song. Shit is amazing.
I know this but I always feel like I'm missing something, because there's a slicing sound there. So that sound could be made on a cymbal, but Prince didn't turn himself into that, so what would be the significance of the double entendre? Maybe it's just as simple as "symbol sounds like cymbal so let's add a cymbal" and I'm an idiot for having thought about it all these years. Actually that's probably it tbh.
Eminem was about the only rapper I liked when younger, and it was mainly for the shock value. Listening to his older stuff now makes me realize how clever it actually was. I wish I could even talk half as well as he can rap.
I’m sure it’s been said on the other video where you mentioned his new album, but both Curtain Calls are greatest hits albums. The Eminem Show is the album this came out on originally and has the red curtain on the album cover.

I love how eminem pointed to the parental advisory sticker. He telling all the parents that complain about him like I put a warning on the album if you're kids are listening to me it's your fault parents. Em is a genius.
Good catch 💪🏼 man’s a genius

So there is more of us, nice analisys
As a kid who grew up on Em. If you werebt there, you wouldn't understand that when he says "feel the tension soon as someone mentions me" that was real. He was freaking everybody out and you loved it or you were totally disgusted by him and he was so influential, parents were mortified their kids loved him so much.
This is so true. There really was like, a holding of breath if Eminem was mentioned. Like, can we play this at a school dance? Will parents come with pitchforks? Thank God my brother is 8 years older and had already broken my parents with the rap world 😂
100th like
I was too young to get the references in this video though I heard it so many times.
Now it's Trump 😂 all the snowflakes get hot and melt, including Eminem! 🙄
I just noticed how he licked the shit Elvis took... That's hilarious

And the proof is that they completely ripped off Elvis too, he went broke after being the Eminem of his time
“Elvis Presley, the only white boy with as much soul as black artists.” -Muhammad Ali
I’d like to add BB King said this in an interview in 2010 about Elvis “Music is owned by the whole universe. It isn't exclusive to the black man or the white man or any other color. It shared in and by our souls'.”
Wow, I didn't know that. Awesome.
forreal. Too many people try to shit on him and pretend he was just stealing music from black people. Nah he was singing music the way he heard it his whole life growing up, just like anyone else. Most of them are just kinda racist towards white people and gotta have an excuse. Not his fault he grew up around alot of black people and didn't view them differently and ended up picking up some stuff.

Yeah it's really amazing how there are some people who don't really grasp how utterly massive he was.
2022 eminems lyricism is still unmatched, fact.

@JenMc I agree with you 100. I’ve loved Eminem’s music since day one and was hooked instantly. Eminem is the Goat and I don’t think we will hear another artist come close to Eminem with his lyricist, word play, bars, rhyme schemes, story telling, etc…. Elvis did admit his inspiration came from growing up in the ghetto and singing in black churches. You should react to Elvis and the Black Community. He also refused to perform without his black backup singers. He also wrote a song after MLK was assisanated called If I can dream in MLK Jr's honor.
💯
Bingo. I'm getting tired of the non stop Elvis hate from every Em reactor. People just don't know history apparently

I came here to ask who was gonna tell the guys......
I always think rappers who write their own songs are brilliant genius because they can tell story with perfect rhyme and rhythm. Thats super hard.
True but eminem has writing credit on this song with 4 other people ..Jeff Bass etc. A lot of his songs are co written.

It's the interview where he complains about people saying there's no word that rhymes with orange (then does a whole phrases full of words he made rhyme with it by moulding his annunciation of the words as well as combining two or more shorter syllable words).

I remember how my mom hated his music and took away my Eminem cd's... but in vain.... Because the next day I went to a friends house and he made copies of his Eminem cd's for me!!
And after taking them away 4 times she gave up and just let me listen to Eminem!😂
But it's sad she threw away my original Eminem cd's and all I have now are the copies that friend made for me 20 years ago😅
This is the song that made me fall in love with rap music. I was 12 when this came out and hip-hop was not popular here in Italy. It was 2002. I bought all his albums and then discovered a new world. Started going backwards listening to old school's legends and kept following the hip hop wave till now, watching it evolve. I gotta thank Em ❤
Now that I'm 34 I'm enjoying old Rock, I discovered your channel searching for Kiss reactions lol
This is so cool. MUSIC has no limits.
Keep on vibing ✨️🎶❤
I'm a German immigrant to NY(1976). My world changed!😂😂😂🐐🐐🐐
Same here 😂
My daily listen😭😭😭 know this song, bar for bar and it will never get old, shits legendary!!!
Same!! Love this man
Fr I think I’m tired of it and listen to it and realize how I can’t ever get tired of this song
How can you guys just recently listen this song? It's masterpiece for a long time.
They’ve 100% heard these songs before, no doubt.😂 It’s just a bunch of fake reactions, but I think they’ve found out that the earnings in this “fake reactions” type of buisness is too good…
It’s just not possible 🤦🏻♀️😂
Didn't they say that they knew this song, but haven't seen the video only. At the beginning, if I'm not wrong. Or am I dumb?
All these reaction videos are fake af
Theyre lying for content. The fact that they think people will actually believe that is insane
Listener for life!🤪
Love that as soon as the song starts they start all start bopping their heads. Straight fire
Ikr
Watching them all bob their heads together is the best part of the reactions!
I had to look up when this video came out because I remember it so clearly, the TRL days.
Facts homegirl.
I was like riiiiiiiiightttt?? Then I read that you’re in your mid 30s so ima take my 55yo self to bed now.
😢😢😢@@candy8192
I love how Eminem is so serious but puts out crazy funny vids. There are very few that can rap at his level.
To understand this song, you need to understand all the beef Eminem had with so many people back then. His mother, Limp Bizkit, Christina Aquilera, Moby etc.
Bahhh...their all forgotten!
Yes ! to get all the references
An old banger of his is "Superman". Check out that music video!! 🔥
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Superman is one of my favorites 😍
The 4 of y’all bobbin your heads up and down at the same time cracked me up for some reason. 😂😂 ❤❤
Love the family! You guys have a very appealing way! Keep going!!!
Eminem is the shit, takes me back to being a kid so much nostalgia for that time period
Marshal Mathers the song …. You boys will like it… great reactions … keep going hard!!
I was in my 20’s when this came out ! Em was our guy! Still is! So glad you guys are checking out all great music from the early 2’s and late 90’s
Love how it took seconds, and all four of there heads are going from side to side, and all smiles, thanks.
To be fair to Elvis, his voice was F*C&ING INCREDIBLE.
That man could have sung nursery rhymes and made your soul shake.
Absolutely 💯
Hmmm
He also grew up in a very poor neighborhood with a lot of black peope. After MLK's death, he didn't wanted to play any Southern state and he sang a tribute to him on live TV.
His appreciation for black music was second to none. Its the colonel who was a racist piece of shit! Controlling his career... Eminem also comes from that same culture.
Dad?
He actually did
Honestly, I don't see the big hype about Elvis...
Detroit vs Everybody is one of the best posse cuts ever made
This is no cap
Yes!!!!!
Nah, it was ok
Fire song 💯💯
"tell em if they want it. They come get that, I swear on my city it just wont last"
Prince was unhappy with the release schedule that Warner Brothers had set for him and they wouldn't budge. Because the artist "Prince" couldn't legally do anything about it he changed his name to the symbol for love as a slap in the face to the studio and gained the freedom to do what he wanted. Genius!
His song Contraversy could have been the backbone here.
He also for a time went by the name "The artist formally known as Prince" RIP
Watching y'all bob your heads in unison is wholesome man for real
I just love that as soon as the song starts playing it's instant head-bops all around 😂
I’m so so glad y’all are GETTING our music and under WHY we were so mad about mumble raps with bad lyrics!!!!❤
It's sad that these kids miss out on rap that exercises your mind. Rap with multiple meanings threaded in.
Just takes time for people to find it. Mainstream stuff will always be watered down. That's why it is mainstream, it is appealing to the most amount of people/simple
Yay, Frankeya, exactly!
What the hell means OUR? Music knows no race
@@queenofthenight3518 you just made it about race. They were probably referring to their time period not their skin tone lmao
With all due respect, how old are you, fellas? This can’t be the first time you’re listening to this masterpiece or any Eminem song, he is a must, bro 🫡
Regards from Mexico.
oui tout le monde connait eminem et the eminem show!! ils n'ont aucune culture!
ok at the end he don't know ben laden!
Everything is fake
@@simbeam certainly
@Mitch Connor man I'm 24 and I know almost every word of this song and it's not like I was an eminem superfan or anything. It's actually insane if they've never heard this
It's awesome watching younger guys like yourself listen to GOATS from before your time! Be amazing if you guys started reacting to 2pac, Biggie, Jay-Z old stuff, Nas, Rakim, BIG L, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. You cannot be a full rap fan without listening to Eminem and these GOATS I just mentioned!!! 🐐
Kool g rap
Yes! 🙌🏻🤓
dont forget Wu-Tang, also real old school Too Short
@m B Those are all great artists, but you can absolutely be a "full" rap fan and listen to whoever you want. Stfu
Bone Thugs have always been my favorite.
Here I am at 70 years old listening to Em &: loving the reactions of these guys, their so cute bobbing the heads with the beat, saying Ems the GOAT...Dre thought so too... Cause hes second to no one! Tupac was EVERYTHING,a Legend but had that certain touch about him that made him different from all others. Poet, Philosopher,Purpose, Politician & loving his Dear Mama to death .Imagine what he could have accomplished if he had lived. He died at 24-5? So young, bright, talented, and IMO he was Divinely touched.God only makes some special... Em was in his way & still doing it at 50 some off years old.Barack Obama introduced him spitting out " Lose yourself" on Detroit. Imagine ? God Bless all.
I was looking for this comment! It's important history for those who never knew why Prince did what he did with the name change.
Yep. That's the GOAT. Dude is off the charts😉
Unbelievable lyricist. Truly unsurpassed.
You gentlemen are adorable. I needed this
💙💙👀👀👀👀
Its just so satisfying to see someone who has really found his calling. He is doing what he is best at, and enjoys it.
You guys crack me up! I'm 46 so it's nice to see the youngens catching up 😃❤️💯
Cant believe there is a human being on this world not hearing Eminem's masterpieces!!! WoW!
I loved how he took the music from the Adam West Batman TV show and incorporated it into this song!!
And I love watching you guys! You make me laugh when I'm depressed and I love your enthusiasm. Keep up the great work!
Moby: throwing shade at Moby was a huge thing in the early 2000s 💙
Oh my, great to see these guys discovering stuff. Amazing how much gets missed.
