Man stop. They just discovering em and his catalog is crazy big. Suggest a song for them to react to and maybe they will. I personally like to see younger cats getting into music that might have been before their time
A little fun story: This song came out in 2002, before the movie 8 Mile, and it was a huge hit. The movie producer (or whoever) told Em that they were going to use this song as a soundtrack because he could not make a bigger hit song, but Eminem was like "hold my beer" and he went and wrote Lose Yourself.
Source???? The Eminem Show was done. Em then moved onto helping produce Cheers and GRODT and was always intended to write original music for a soundtrack. The original song intended to be the official song was 8 mile.....as in the SONG 8 mile...from the 8 mile soundtrack......but Em was dissatisfied and thought he could do better so wrote Lose Yourself between takes. I've never at any point heard anyone ever claim COMC had any involvement with 8 mile.
I was 17 when Eminem signed with Dre. The protest and hate against him was crazy. The media made it seem like his music was going to damage all the kids. But the radio stations refusing to play him, the protest and media really just drove his sales higher and made him more popular.
He was angry because he had a little brother that also suffered abuse and was put into the foster care system, he does mention him in at least one of his songs. He doesn't perform Cleaning Out My Closet anymore, I have seen articles that say they have somewhat mended their relationship. Child abuse can continue through generations, he didn't do that, he made beauty with pain. He is an artist of the lifetime.
His mom also did have munchausen by proxy and made a diss track about him too. They did not get along. His dad tried getting in touch only after he got famous. But yeah he and his mom have made up and he hates this song now but still one of my faves.
They’re on okay terms now as far as I know (not good but okay), and I believe he promised her to not sing COMC anymore to not damage their relationship again.
His mom tried to sue him to get part of the money he made when he got famous when she put him down and didn’t want to help him to even get to cali and meet Dr. Dre
If you listen to his apology song headlights he won't ever listen to this song, he's banned it from his concerts and turns the channel if it ever comes on. He says she never did drug him
@@river1927 where did you get that last part from? she had munchhausen by proxy, she thought he was constantly sick so she would dose him with tons of medication
He brought up Munchausen Syndrome. A terrible disorder for the people around the person who has it, especially if it's the form Munchausen By-Proxy, which I believe he is describing. My biological mother had it, and most of my childhood consisted of being told I was sick when I wasn't. That's why this track hits so hard for me.
I'm pretty sure that syndrome is used to describe the person who's being made to think they're sick, not the person that tricks the other person into thinking they're sick
@@rossrobertson674 Munchausen syndrome is a condition in which a person will make themselves sick or pretend to be sick in order to receive attention. By-Proxy is where you make others sick to achieve similar effect.

Eminem was able to turn his pain into purpose. When this first came out, we all felt his pain through his words. He was and always will be a master lyricist.
i vividly remember hearing "The way i am" for the first time as a 13 year old kid, im 35 now and to this day that is one of his hardest songs for me, the raw emotion the lyricism , the flow, the gritty beat ; you can actually feel the pain and anger in his voice on that one , he just goes in from start to finish on "The way i am"
Omg really Eminem’s mom put poison in he’s food . What kind of mother is she . No wonder why he runs his mom down in he’s songs . She sounds like a deadbeat mother. What a disgrace x 😮
Munchausen! my grandmother had that until she had an actual sick kid to replace her needs! she used to tell my father and all of his siblings they were sick all the time and and make up sicknesses she didn't actually make them sick though
Look up the definition of Münchausen syndrome, it will explain why his mom made him sick to his stomach. Also it WAS pinesol . She poisoned him when he was a kid. I love watching these. It’s crazy seeing people who have never heard these songs. I grew up when these came out so the context hit’s different for me than y’all and it’s cool to see a younger generation appreciate his music. Thanks for sharing.
As a 34yr old black woman from the hood in S.Fla that was a huge Em fan I love watching yall react to his music lol. This whole album was 🔥 EM definitely caused alot of hell during his prime. Yall should react to more songs from this album as well as MMLP and The Slim Shady LP 🔥🔥
Right! I agree with you on that. I think people need to stop with all the "why you always listening to EM?" The man has so much out there that hasn't been reacted to...yet.
In 2010 when I was like 10 or 11 I was jamming tf out of eminem. I got my first iPod 4th generation and I felt unstoppable lol. I wish I was 20 in 2000.
I'm black and I grew up listening to Em. He is one of the best-selling artists of all time. You would have to live under the biggest rock to not know his songs but I guess the hood is a rock lol
What that mean shit ik who he was but his stuff was never on the radio so o was the only black guy in high skool listening to him and I graduated in 2006
this song is one of the reasons eminem has such a loyal fanbase...em has always been so open about what he's been through and transparent about everything
First i gotta say, i love your channel. I’m a 51 year old white lady who loves all kinds of music especially rap and rock. It’s super fun to watch ya’ll react to so many of my faves. As a mother Eminem’s lyrics break my heart. I know he wouldn’t appreciate the sympathy but dang. Fyi - Munchausen’s Syndrome is a mental condition where a person repeatedly seeks medical attention for another person for symptoms that are falsified, exaggerated, or deliberately induced. So…she was putting poison in his food and taking him to the dr or hosp.❤
For what it’s worth, I’m a 36 year old man that actually watches this channel because of the generation gap. When reacting to songs and shows of things that were coming out for me growing up, it’s fascinating to see your reactions. Plus I think all of you are pretty genuine guys just chilling and learning through all of these reactions. I’d love to see you guys do “If I had” on Eminem’s debut album. It’s a back track that doesn’t get the love it should. I also think you’d be fascinated with NF. He goes hard, and I’d say do “Mansion” first from him. He will blow you away. Keep it all coming fellas, there aren’t many channels I feel loyal to, but this is sure one of them.
46 ya youngins :D ... personally I like "Story" from NF, I haven't gotten into too much from him though. These dudes do more listening and chilling than analyzing so some artists won't hit as hard, I see it with Eminem bars all the time. No, nobody is expected to catch everything, but LISTEN more talk less or just pause to talk.
36 as well, and watch for the same reason. It reminds me of the that feeling of nostalgia I get when my 16yo and 11yo boys are learning/listening to a banger from the past.
Cleanin out my closet is Eminems deepest heart felt song in my opinion. I know he hates this song now because him and his mom are good now, But it still doesent change the fact that he felt this way at 1 time in his life. You can just hear the pain in his voice and any rapper that put that much pain In a song would not wanna hear it or perform it anymore. 💔 Em is a GOAT 🐐 I'm glad he made peace with his mom 🙏
Hard staying mad at you Mom no matter the cause. I didn't talk to my Mom for months at one time, and it left a hole in my heart. Hopefully she apologized, cause what she did w that lawsuit was being fd up.
@@stubbz3168 castle and arose are some of the best songs he’s ever written even he says that himself. Sadly it came from revival, which soils those songs because most people never wanna give them a chance
For me the crazy thing about Eminems music is that the emotions translate even beyond languages. I remember listening to this song when I was like 8 years old, not understanding a word of english (from Germany) and still crying because i felt the pain in the lyrics. I still think that this seperates him from most rappers, even till today.
This song and this entire album got me thru a lot of shit when I was coming up. Im 37. Extremely abusive home life. This video/song still plays In my flash back nightmares to this day. And I smile when I wake up.
I'm a 38 year old white girl from Seattle, Washington and i feel like I could school these beautiful men on everything Eminem. Bless their young hearts. Love watching these guys react to the GOAT that I grew up listening to.
"How could you be that mad at your mama" the look from the dude in the black shirt is Fucking priceless like "don't be acting like there ain't sick shit out there' dude" 🤣🤣
Hi Guys! Thanks for the honest reactions. I didn't see this in the comments, so I thought I'd add about his mother's illness. "Munchausen syndrome by proxy is a mental illness and a form of child abuse. The caretaker of a child, most often a mother, either makes up fake symptoms or causes real symptoms to make it look like the child is sick." Damn, he's been through alot.
You are not all wrong but Munchausen syndrome is not that. Munchausen's syndrome is a rare psychological and behavioural condition in which somebody fabricates or induces symptoms of illness in "themselves". Thats why his mother popping pills always. It's not about someone else is being sick.
Don't mind anyone saying you're living under a rock, etc for not really knowing Em - it's hard for milennials to understand because he was such a huge shock to the system back then. It's more a generational thing than anything else. What I really appreciate is you all taking the time to dig into the older stuff we all enjoyed back then. Love your work keep it up!
I hate when people say stuff like this to younger hip hop fans, like, I was an 08 baby so I never really got that much exposure to rap and stuff other than my dad playing 50 or pac sometimes in the car so when I found MMLP for the first time I was completely sucked in, and then people start being like "how did u not know 💀💀" like lemme discover 90's/00's hip hop in peace 😭
I bought my first Eminem album when I was 11 with my Xmas money and related and adored it so much. The humour, the honesty and the emotions. This track hit home for me and I honestly don’t share the same reaction as everyone else. It used to shock me that this song shocks people. But now I’m nearly 30 I realise that not everyone has had a difficult upbringing and experienced childhood trauma. The thing is, you’re imaging saying those things about your parents who are probably nice and caring people. But having a parent who abuses you is not the same. In that situation you are an innocent child who deserves better. Eminem knows that and has given better when he has become a parent himself. This isn’t a blanket hate against parents, it’s an honest portrayal of thoughts and feelings looking back on a broken childhood.
It doesn’t matter what age you are , if you can appreciate a musical lyrical genius like Marshal you are blessed. I’ve followed him from the very beginning and I knew it in my old bones he was going to be massively famous. I myself have followed Bob Dylan all my life and as soon as l hear Marshal I thought it’s the Dylan of this generation. He is like Dylan someone who is a very uniquely gifted individual... love watching you guys. Watching from Newcastle U.K. ✌️
I’m glad you guys are exploring Eminem’s discography! This song used to put me to sleep when I was little. Mockingbird is also a really good one. It’s about his daughter. ❤️
This song means so much to me having lived almost the exact same childhood. I remember playing this song bagging up my clothes to escape an abusive home at 15. To this day I haven't heard a song as powerful as this one.
Just wanted to say I’m a 43-year old white chick from Alabama who thoroughly enjoys watching your videos because of our age difference. Watching y’all react to and jam out to music I grew up listening to is so funny and interesting and entertaining to me. Plus, it makes me smile to see y’all hear older things for the first time. Keep up the awesome work!
I feel you. I’m nine years older than you and I’m watching this for the same reason. I don’t think what any young person don’t realize there’s once you hit 21. The years start flying after that. Seems like one day you’re 25 the next thing you know you’re 50. I may be 52 But in my mind I still feel like I’m 25. Also I don’t expect these guys to know who Eminem is or was just like they shouldn’t also know a whole lot about Ice Cube, 2Pac, or biggie unless the parents were bumping that stuff when they were kids. I would’ve expected him to be listening to stuff from artists that are more closer to their own age but just like now they start experiencing and checking out stuff from different areas my music taste go way back to the 50s and of course I’ve heard stuff much older than that but not a whole lot. Twenty years before I was born.
You guys may be young but you got a lot of older people who watches and likes your channel or else we wouldn’t be here. You young men are definitely cool in my book.
It’s so hard to fathom talking bad about Mama in the blk community because we hold them up like a deity. I respect ‘‘em for showing even mama can be wrong sometimes.
My God, this song never been old....you know , why i love Em, he is who he is ! Honest and great man. He even try his best to be abgood person as parent, to prove that, no matter what his situations he is going to be a great parents for his daughters. Respect from Indonesia. See ? Indonesia since 1999 2000 knows and love this song !!!! #stan #forever #grandpa Peace and Love.
“I took the bullets out of that gun” is about him finding Kim at the club cheating on him and hit the bouncer with the gun. You guys reacted to that song where he says that before. This is one of Ems most heartfelt songs for sure!
Em's mom's name is Debbie Mathers. On his first (signed) album, he says, "99% of my life I was lied to. I just found out my mom does more dope than I do. I told her I'd grow up to be a famous rapper, make a record about doing drugs and name it after her." His mom sues him for $10million for that line.. and only ends up winning $1,377 or something like that from the suit. 2nd (signed) album, he says, "My f*****g b***h mom tried to sue me for 10 million. She must want a dollar for every pill I've been stealing". Third album, he says, "I just settled all my lawsuits; FUCK YOU DEBBIE!" Growing up, his mom would tell him that he was sick with munchausen syndrome, and would put prescription drugs in his food, as well as other toxic stuff. If you read up about it, it was a hard upbringing. By the way, I'm 39 (grew up while all this was going on), and I also watch the channel for the generational gap. I think it's amazing what you guys are doing here. You're helping inspire the younger generation to give a shit about lyrics, poetry, bars, etc. Keep it up guys.
She didn't say he had munchausen SHE had munchausen by proxy where u hurt others for attention or sometimes drugs like in this case. Munchausen is a mental illness not an actual disease or anything
having been around 16 when eminem came out, i cant even imagine to listen to his songs, without hving the background/pop-culture of the time in the back of my head..... you are all missing out on these songs, without it! sooo many tiny details, in all his songs!
I love Brandon preaching and telling it how it is at 2:40. "Just because you grew up on it and experienced it, doesn't mean we did!" So much truth and maturity. I wish more people were able to understand that concept. Keep rocking fellas. Love you guys and the videos!
I also love that about Brandon, what i also love about youngin is his face is dead ass like knows exactly what he talking about and he is way the F off!! 🤣🤣
For real- what people experience- is so different… over time- over place- When we decide… That we all belong …. When we agree to agree- That we all earned a spot on this earth- Life could be better for us all.
Y’all are fun to watch. I’m 58 and I watched and listened to rap from the beginning. It’s cool listening and watching younger generations like you reacting to the music I heard when rap wasn’t always easy to find. Just like Hardcore Rock, radio wouldn’t play it, big stores wouldn’t carry it. Thank God for those private record stores back then, it’s where we got our music, t-shirts, and posters. Oh, you’re sitting on the left, but on the screen, you on the right. ❤
Haters gunna hate! The reason I watch you guys, other than being a Louisiana alum go Cajuns 🤟🏼, is your reactions to Em are authentic. Being a white kid growing up listening to Eminem, your reactions are exactly like mine were as a kid hearing him for the first time! You guys are great and don’t stop doing what y’all doing! ✊🏼
The best is seeing pro rappers admit they don't want any smoke from Em he is the lyrical GOAT. You dis Em and u will find out what shit comes your way. This dude can break your body and soul with his words.
Originally, a rap song was made of the classic 16 bars. The bar phase is almost like a line. Bar is like the segment or sentence. When people say, now that was a bar it was meant a good bar or line. But it became accepted to mean that bar had a scheme , wordplay or metaphor or entandre that stood out. Rap evolved to 32, 46, 64 bars etc as rappers started saying more or faster. There's many rappers that reference it. Giving a cool 16." I was gonna stop at 16, that was 32. This is 34 bars were only a 3rd the way through" Em-Mariah diss. It refers to lyrical lines in the rap
Finally someone explain how music is wrote!!I I read all comments to see if anyone on here knew how music was written!! Glad to see someone knows music and ain't here to just listen
I can't tell you all how much I love you all! Dissecting lyrics, appreciating beats, going deep into the meanings, your love of the adventure of all genres of music.
So wild to watch yall react and to realize how old this music is now at 34. Apart of what made him the greatest rapper besides shock factor is the fact that he added Choruses to rap and tone change, he changed the structural sound of rap and as you said in another video the music.. sounded like him. If you go back even further in the rap music world, you'll see his true influence in the industry... Interesting note in interview Em said this song happens to be the one he regrets most
Yes, Em was protested across the country. That’s why he came out with “Who Knew”. It was a diss to his critics, media, parents & politicians about their hypocrisy.
I’m 34. Em was huge when I was a teen. He went quiet for a little while while the next gen were growing up. A couple of songs here and there but nothing like back in the day. I understand why these guys haven’t heard his old stuff. I’m also fully enjoying these reactions. As a massive Eminem fan I’m getting so much nostalgia watching and it takes me back to what I felt when I first listened to his songs. Keep it up! Should do a whole series.
I have always been an Eminem fan but I remember back when this song came out I can remember thinking how could someone hate their mom that much. Fast forward to a few years later hearing him say the line I am dead to you as can be hits me differently in this song when you hear the same words come from your own mother saying they wish I was dead after my daughter passed away lead me to the biggest depression and I can admit drug and alcohol problem I could ever have and I know other people may say this but I can honestly say if it was not for Eminem and his music I would honestly be dead right now the words in his music saved my life when I had no where else to turn. People can try to cancel Eminem all they want to but if Congress and Washington couldn't do it dumb butts online that have possibly really never listened to his music won't be able to do it his has way to loyal and large of a fan base

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥...this sound actually got me into the whole genre of rap. heard this on the radio.....was FLAMEZZZZ, bought The Eminem Show, and fell in love with rap, and put rock on the side. Bought rest of Em's stuff, and became a Stan. Love the channel!
I wasn't an eminem fan until The Eminem Show. Someone told me its different from his other stuff. I didn't like his first albums. I thought he was just a comedy rapper. Soon as I heard the first song on the that CD(soldier) I was hooked. Went and bought his previous albums and it's been a wrap since. I'm still not into his political side.
I'm 29 and I've been listening to Em since I was a teenager thanks to iTunes! My parents never listened to him nor my friends. Without iTunes I probably wouldn't know either.
The part where she’s putting stuff in his food is something he talks about in a couple of his songs. His mom probably suffered from Münchausen syndrome by proxy. It’s a psychological condition where the parent wants to take care of their kids so they poison them to purposefully make them sick. Gypsy Rose is one of the best known cases, she has a Netflix special if you’re interested in seeing some crazy shit.
Yep! And I came here to say that was pine-sol. The bottle would look different today, because it was supposed to be made like the bottle was in the 70's. So unless you saw a 70's bottle, you would be thinking of how the bottle looks today.
@@sufio454 I spent like 20 mins making sure before I posted that comment and just checked again. The old bottles had the words pine-sol next to each other on a funky dark green label. This bottle in the video has "sol" underneath "pine" just like the modern bottle. It also has a red banner toward the bottom of the bottle which the old bottles did not have. All of that is pretty obvious if you actually do a comparison so I don't get why your trying to correct me.
Lol what is crazy was I was just singing this at work 2 days ago ...I was doing the "wasn't that the reason you made that CD for me MA " They just think I'm nuts ..They are like why is this 55yr old white woman singing this 😂😂😂
People have been trying to cancel him from the very first song, in their minds it's for a good reason but it'll never happen 😂. I'm 38 & was 15 when his first dong dropped so depending on age I have no doubts when people say they haven't heard any of his songs.
As someone who has a very broken and fractured relationship with my mother, this song hurts me to listen to. I found my mom overdosed several times during the years I lived with her and it mentally broke me. Took years of therapy to sort my anger out. Now I have peace, but this song still bothers me. Hell, I’m pretty sure it even bothers Eminem too I think I read somewhere. But it is a powerful song.
New subscriber 🙋🏻♀️ IMO Eminem is a lyrical genius. The words he rhymes together are next level. And the way he channeled his pain into all his lyrics just blows my mind. He will always be one of the GOATs to me. Have you reacted to “Kim” off of Marshall Mathers LP? Or “My 1st Single” off Encore? Or “Untitled” off Recovery? Those are a few of my favorites that I’d love to see you guys react to because the first time I heard them I was like “Wait, what?” And then left them on repeat until I caught it all 😂
Too much controversy, and too many stupid people who just didn’t get the point or the message of the song. Skill wise though, Darkness was the equivalent of building the Eiffel Tower out of playing cards during a tornado and having it be untouched by the wind. Double, triple, quadruple entendres on top of one another. Absolute lyrical masterpiece. And the sampling of ‘The Sound of Silence’ was perfectly matched.
Thank you for your time and energy we appreciate it you're one of the few who actually listen to their fans so thank you we support you unconditionally

In Africa though my boys we know EM, Funny I got introduced to Em with Cleaning out my closet back in 02 and back then I was 12 years old and I got hooked. Songs like mocking bird, when I am gone and my dad gone crazy captured me and made me a fan forever. Also let me just mention I love your reactions, this is you reacting to the music and not really here for catching the bars and you catching them is a bonus for us.
My favorite Em song from the earlier days. Em always hits hard & can paint a picture with his lyrics more than anyone else & damn is this one painful but so good!
I don't care if you heard the songs before or not. The great thing about music is there is almost always something new to learn from a song you've heard before.
This is what the culture needs, more acceptance. Loved the intro just found you guys today and went down the rabbit hole. Keep it up love you guys it feels like I’m with my bros!!
I’m 77 years old and I applaud the fact that you guys are checking out your music history. The problem is Eminem has got such a long history that he’s lived three different lives already. He’s gonna be hard for you guys to find a spot to start.
This is one of my favorite reactions guys! Btw…the syndrome he was referring and said is called Munchhausen syndrome. It’s when an adult typically a mother as it’s more common in females. It’s a mental health problem where a parent will intentionally hurt her child physically or more common makes them sick (like you saw her putting pinesol in his food) to cause them to become sick. They do it for sympathy and attention. They will do it over and over again. Look up the case of Gypsy Rose, true story of horrible Munchhausen syndrome that finally ended when Gypse Rose finally had her mom killed.
Man I'm feeling old as shit now 😂. I remember when this came out, I was in high school at the time. I'm sure there wasn't a single young person in America that never heard this song because Eminem was all over MTV and BET and pretty much every hip hop radio station on the planet. That was back when everyone watched cable TV, before RUclips or most other streaming sites/services, everyone watched a lot more TV. Basically if you didn't hear this song or most other Eminem songs back then, you were probably a nerd or very, very sheltered 😂
Y'all all are dope af.. I enjoy all your reactions at work especially this Eminem journey. I think y'all should do so 2.0 reactions,I think you understand more then you did the first time .
His mom made him believe he was sick took him to hospitals for attention. It's called munchausen syndrome. She was making him sick on purpose, i.e. whatever she poured in his food.
Em made the beat and Dre mixed it. Thats the mixing board so every instrument in the beat is programed on those sliders. If something is too low like the snare, you tell the engineer turn it up. Usually that conversation gets cut before the song is out but I guess it sounded dope to them 😂
Now you need to listen to "Headlights" by Eminem. It finishes his story with his Mom and shows how he's matured. Oh, and 50 will come calling for you guys FAR sooner than your youthful minds can even comprehend right now. Time flies by and accelerates 2x as fast after you hit 30. Don't say you weren't warned.

I was 17 when Eminem signed with Dre. The protest and hate against him was crazy. The media made it seem like his music was going to damage all the kids. But the radio stations refusing to play him, the protest and media really just drove his sales higher and made him more popular.

I'm sorry you went through so much. Some songs hit deep. Hope you are at peace.
What I thought is his mom told him he was sick so she could get the attention and compassion from others
@@rossrobertson674 Munchausen is the when they person pretends to be or makes themselves sick. Munchausen by proxy, is when they act as if some in their care is sick. It is most often a mother making their child sick.
@Makaveli13Xroy absolutely. One of my favourites too. Timeless
it still hits hard listening in 2024 but much better uncensored
😂 it’s pine sol. His mom made him think he was sick to the point of putting mild amounts of poison in his food.
She also put Valium in his food
Omg really Eminem’s mom put poison in he’s food . What kind of mother is she . No wonder why he runs his mom down in he’s songs . She sounds like a deadbeat mother. What a disgrace x 😮
Nah it's cough syrup. POS parents give it to their kids to make em pass out so they don't have to deal with em.
Munchausen! my grandmother had that until she had an actual sick kid to replace her needs! she used to tell my father and all of his siblings they were sick all the time and and make up sicknesses she didn't actually make them sick though
That’s pinesol folks lol she poisoned him with small amounts, make him think he was sick
Thanks for sharing.

this song is one of the reasons eminem has such a loyal fanbase...em has always been so open about what he's been through and transparent about everything
41 here. Same reasons I watch them
Same im 38.
Same here I'm 37 and it's interesting seeing how they interact with the music compared to how I perceived it when it came out.
Yes, that really happened!! Radio stations were getting fined THOUSANDS of $$$ by the FCC if they played an Em song🤦🏽♀️
The FCC won't let me be me,or let me be me so let me see They tried to shut me down on MTV but it feels so empty without me.
I would agree with you but Castle and Arrose he litterally puts his heart on his sleeve for us all.

For me the crazy thing about Eminems music is that the emotions translate even beyond languages. I remember listening to this song when I was like 8 years old, not understanding a word of english (from Germany) and still crying because i felt the pain in the lyrics. I still think that this seperates him from most rappers, even till today.
This, 100%. I remember listening to the songs not understanding anything and get the of the feelings of what have been said.
When it came out I was 12 and could already speak English (also from Germany), so I didn’t have this problem haha

Hi Guys! Thanks for the honest reactions.
I didn't see this in the comments, so I thought I'd add about his mother's illness. "Munchausen syndrome by proxy is a mental illness and a form of child abuse. The caretaker of a child, most often a mother, either makes up fake symptoms or causes real symptoms to make it look like the child is sick."
Damn, he's been through alot.
This is absolutely correct (obviously I don't actually know if it happened to Em, but this is exactly what he was referring to).
You are not all wrong but Munchausen syndrome is not that. Munchausen's syndrome is a rare psychological and behavioural condition in which somebody fabricates or induces symptoms of illness in "themselves". Thats why his mother popping pills always. It's not about someone else is being sick.

This is my shit. Classic ass song. 🔥🔥🔥 I was 15 or 16 when this dropped. Eminem is the GOAT.
My favorite em song. So much pain and emotion in this one. His lyrics are always incredible

Em's mom's name is Debbie Mathers.
On his first (signed) album, he says, "99% of my life I was lied to. I just found out my mom does more dope than I do. I told her I'd grow up to be a famous rapper, make a record about doing drugs and name it after her."
His mom sues him for $10million for that line.. and only ends up winning $1,377 or something like that from the suit.
2nd (signed) album, he says, "My f*****g b***h mom tried to sue me for 10 million. She must want a dollar for every pill I've been stealing".
Third album, he says, "I just settled all my lawsuits; FUCK YOU DEBBIE!"
Growing up, his mom would tell him that he was sick with munchausen syndrome, and would put prescription drugs in his food, as well as other toxic stuff.

The part where she’s putting stuff in his food is something he talks about in a couple of his songs. His mom probably suffered from Münchausen syndrome by proxy. Also let me just mention I love your reactions, this is you reacting to the music and not really here for catching the bars and you catching them is a bonus for us.
Makes me smile how other people have the same exact songs that hooked them as a kid to em
My favorite Em song from the earlier days. Em always hits hard & can paint a picture with his lyrics more than anyone else & damn is this one painful but so good!
Goosebumps every time I hear this song.
Song suggestions : The Real Slim Shady, Sing For The Moment (lyrics), Guts Over Fear (lyrics)
I LOVED Em when i was younger. Could not go a day without him.
Dont trip on the haters you guys bring a diffrent energy with the reactions keep doin what you do 👍
Em made the beat and Dre mixed it. Thats the mixing board so every instrument in the beat is programed on those sliders.
If something is too low like the snare, you tell the engineer turn it up.
Usually that conversation gets cut before the song is out but I guess it sounded dope to them 😂
The dynamic duo !!
I had an abusive step mom and this song made me not feel alone one of the only songs I can sing along to almost the whole thing
"Picket signs for my wicked rhymes " one of my favorite Em lines of all times
This is the first time I’ve listened to this song since I first heard ‘Headlights’.
Evil Twin from Em... please react, underated and pure Fire... Love and Respekt from Germany Bro's ♥
I just can't believe people don't know this music. It's literally imprinted in social consciousness.
