I hope you mean recitatives by Bach, and not specifically to these singers’ interpretations!
The hymn tune, “Nun Komm, der Heiden Heiland” (“Savior of the nations, come”) isn’t unusual for Bach at all! The words were written by Martin Luther, with the melody based on the Latin plainchant, “Veni redemptor gentium.” Bach used this hymn tune for this cantata; for a short chorale prelude for organ (from his “Little Organ Book,” or “Orgelbüchlein,” one of his best known organ pieces); and _twice_ in his famous set of 18 chorale preludes for organ. This cantata is very popular for both professional and amateur choirs, as well.
It is a special joy now when you release another cantata performance. I hope you have a few new ones left to get us through this awful period when gatherings are impossible. I hope you are able to resume recording additional cantatas in the near future! What you have done is beyond praise.

Just a short comment; I do not quite understand the last part of the text-introduction; as far as I remember from my Bible, Jesus did not ride into Jerusalem on a donkey the first day of Advent, but on Palm Sunday. It is also a little odd using the image in the context of Advent, as the very concept of Advent is to await His birth...
