Think we were being a bit unkind to the old sat nav. We'd forgotten to delete the service station from the route and she was trying to take us back there!
Hello from NZ. We loved watching you drive through the gorgeous towns and the lovely old buildings. You have such lovely camping grounds and quite large pitches which we call a site.
A history lesson ,a paws walk ,a tour of the green fomica shower block so missed ,so loved 😂 I plan to throughly enjoy YOUR easter trip ,.......your back 👍👍👍
Not been there yet but it looks a really interesting area for a trip looking forward to the site drive around too. Time to retire the old satnav when you start talking back to it guys😊
Hawes site very easy to miss the turn no sign post for members only site we tow a car and on our first visit there we mist the turn added a fair bit of time on getting turned round .But it is a really good site don't need a car lots to see with in easy walking distance.
Sorry finally Hardraw force go through the Hardraw pub this waterfall was used in Robin Hood prince of thieves with Kevin Costner. Hope you don't mind me pointing out a few places of interest but if you have plans for these or other places sorry. Billy
Hi Bob .Glad to see both of you are in lovely swaledale.Such a lovely area.Don't know what plans you have. But pop into Keld drive down to the church area lovely little tea room there and waterfall.Thwaite tea room lovely scones clotted creams. Try Kirby Steven drive over the Moors to that one shops waterfall fish and chips. If adventurous for more travel.Thirsk James Herritt home and museum. Finally Hardraw force behind
Geeeee - just a beautiful back ground !!!!!! I would love to live in that town you just drove through : ) .............. Say - is any of that land for sale ??? ..........
Hi Bob. Sorry this is a bit belated but I've only just come across your channel. Just to advise, the River Ure is notorious for flooding at the bridge next to the site. I've never stayed at this site but have done a lot of hiking around Haws and seen the river impassable at the bridge on a number of occasions. It might be that the site floods too so I would be prepared for a hasty retreat to the car park at Hawes station if it all goes wrong
@@BobEarnshawMoHo The last time I saw it was Feb or March last year (did trips there both months, but can't remember when I saw it). Fortunately, on that occasion, I was parked at the top of the hill near Hardraw. 😁
Too close to call. The Bailey has a stronger engine, and feels is a bit lighter, better in the corners. But I think ours has a smoother ride as the tyres are bigger. Ours is quieter for rattles, because we've tied things down better. Nice to be back in our own though.
I enjoyed that drive. Thanks. Is this the longest you've stayed at one site? It looks very nice there though, so you'll be able to have a nice relaxing time.
Hi you have probably been asked this before but what is the average difference in mpg when towing the car? Hope to bump into you guys one day we get our new motorhome next month we had a caravan but decided a motorhome would suit us better.
Bob Earnshaw not me personally bob but a few people we talked to said they were turned away ( Thursday/good Friday)and told to go and wait on the industrial estate, which they did ,waited for 5 to 10 mins came back and found themselves about 10th in the que to get on. Give some people a uniform eh!!? ....great vid too, thanks
I am so stressed out watching you drive those crazy roads. My god someone was on drinking when they designed those roads. You need to drive in US and you will think how boring it is.

Booked and great to preview the route and site! Thanks again
Great site, nice pubs, good walks...….only thing that drove us mad was the toilet block door constantly slamming... thanks for posting

Thanks, think you'll enjoy the next couple of videos.
Lovely site Hawes, and a lovely place to visit. The pitch you were on is exactly where we stayed when we stayed there in August.
Great little town, Hawes.

Looks great there at Hawes, Both of you look so relaxed and happy there.
Before I got 30 seconds in to the video I was amazed how easily you pulled your tow car forward. Kudos to you 💪🏻
Thanks, but it's easy when it's on the level.
The road Seam to go on forever when I went that way looks a nice place

A chapel of ease is a type of mission hall used where a population was not big enough to support a full status chapel.
Thanks for that info.

Thanks for the information, we have been there many times, but not aware of flooding there, but who knows with all this rain recently!

What was it like getting back behind the wheel of the Swift after driving the Bailey, which do you prefer to drive ?
Too close to call. The Bailey has a stronger engine, and feels is a bit lighter, better in the corners. But I think ours has a smoother ride as the tyres are bigger. Ours is quieter for rattles, because we've tied things down better. Nice to be back in our own though.

I think we've stayed longer at Somers Wood before, but we don't normally stay this long anywhere.
Yes, I wondered because you only seem to stay for 2 or 3 nights, but then on those occasions, you are touring.
Hi you have probably been asked this before but what is the average difference in mpg when towing the car? Hope to bump into you guys one day we get our new motorhome next month we had a caravan but decided a motorhome would suit us better.
David Archibald It is about 3 miles per gallon, enjoy your new Motorhome 🙂
What are you using to tow your car?
It's a Smart-Tow braked A Frame here's my videos ruclips.net/p/PLUi3rqw12j2q2q4KYGAnvYgnTiWI0cdiL
Weeeeee !!!!!!! We are off !!!!!! : ) ........ Peace on Earth : ) ........
Hmmm.....I wonder why you didn’t get told to go wait on the industrial estate for being 20 minutes early?
Because there was no one there in reception to tell me to go anywhere when I got there. Did that happen to you?
Bob Earnshaw not me personally bob but a few people we talked to said they were turned away ( Thursday/good Friday)and told to go and wait on the industrial estate, which they did ,waited for 5 to 10 mins came back and found themselves about 10th in the que to get on. First time ive heard jen get it wrong lol. Xxx
I know, bit of a shocker 😀
I blame it on the sign at the roundabout which looked like it was pointing right 🙂
Lovely site, great for waking in the area. But parking up before booking in 🤔🤦🏼♂️😠😠 caravan etiquette.
We just waited in the new arrivals area until they were opened so no idea what you're talking about here?
Are you or were you or would you have liked to have been a lorry driver?
No never was and not sure I'd want to be on the road all day every day.
time to ditch sat nag bob and I certainly don't mean jenny 😉😊
Ha.. got to be the worst satnav ever!! lol, well done for ignoring all her instructions.
I am so stressed out watching you drive those crazy roads. My god someone was on drinking when they designed those roads. You need to drive in US and you will think how boring it is.
I just love the twisty roads!
i dont like back seat drivers
