Enjoyed the video Bob & Jenny. Seeing Poppy thinking about chasing the ducks brought back an amusing incident when we last stayed there several years ago when it was still known as Strid Wood. Sitting in our van in the evening there was suddenly a large bang outside as something hit our van and I rushed out to see a dazed duck on the ground and a fairly large dent on the side of the van. I told the warden about this and he said so many people were feeding the ducks that they got overweight and couldn't take off very well! I hope you, Jenny, Poppy & Tara all managed to avoid any low flying ducks - and the Bailey you're testing at the moment!
Great vlogs, we like the calmness of them and how you both take everything in your stride with out any real sense of panic like the rest of us! Look forward to watching more of your vlogs
Lovely site, I hope you are enjoying testing out the motorhome, beautiful views & not too cold. You are all a joy to watch & I really enjoy your travels, take care Bob, jenny, Tara & poppy, xx
Hi bob,Jenny, poppy and Tara, love the way the dogs know when you are arriving at a site, makes me smile, they are so adorable.Looks a lovely site, have a great trip, keep well and stay safe.🐶🐶😊
We love our Adamo 75 4dl we found the driving great, not really any lag time when you put your foot down. We were getting good mileage while in Scotland. The sleeping is so easy as well with the two drop down beds. We found the van very warm even in Scotland in October We never put the heating on it is so draft free. This one is a keeper for sure.
Hello Bob and Jenny, we just got back from Bolton Abbey today, really enjoyed it, unfortunately I have a really bad knee, I did make it to the same bridge that you did Bob but after that could not do anymore walking, but my wife loves walking so her and Buster went for a walk every day, she took lots of photos and videos to show me later. 👍.
I think it makes for a more relaxing drive, with the automatic, plus cruise control. This van looks like it pulls along very well. I am enjoying your review of this motor home. That looks like a lovely location at Bolton Abbey.Take care and stay safe Bob and Jenny and the girls.
All motorhome enthusiasts have their favourites and preferences, But I have to say we have owned Pegaso, kontiki and auto trail which are ALL fantastic motorhomes but we now own an Adamo 75-4i and it really is a tremendous motorhome, just enjoying the motorhome life tbh 👍
Good to hear you like the automatic. We owned touring caravans from 1974 to 2013 and towed them with both manual and automatic cars. Automatics are so much better, particularly the newer ones. We should get our first motorhome in spring next year. It will be on the Fiat chassis with the ZF automatic transmission. From what I have read the ZF transmission gets better write-ups than the Ford transmission. It would be interesting if, at some time in the future, you have the opportunity to drive an automatic motorhome on the Fiat/ZF chassis/transmission combination so you can share thoughts on how they compare. In the meantime keep enjoying your time with the Adamo. Thank you for the videos. We really enjoy them.
Looks like you are enjoying the automatic, I don’t think it is for me, had an automatic rental car over 25 years ago and hated it. The walk with the dogs was glorious the river has turned a tough day into a better one, thank you. Take care Gill
So glad you like the automatic, I love mine. Just make sure you put it in Park when you stop. If I could afford it I’d replace my manual car with an automatic too. Put 2 cushions up on the seat so Poppy can look out the window. Another lovely video.
Beautiful walk. Had my first automatic for about 5 years , went back to manual. and only lasted a year. Love automatics. Switch off the stop/start as I feel its too hard on starter motor . Thanks for the wonderful videos as always.
Great Video Bob & Jenny. The comment it's very difficult to stay under the speed limit just cracked me. I really like the ford chassis. Keep going you do great videos and it's November. My new Van hopefully arrives this month from Autotrail. Fiat series 8. Hopefully. Hopefully. Hopefully. X
Great video Bob and Jenny, I take it that people towing caravans go through the same archway as you did, looks quite narrow?, we may be off to bolton abbey soon if we can get booked in.
We were there a few months ago. The walks through the woods to the abbey are brilliant. Did you notice the felled tree trucks with coins hammered into the exposed growth rings? The approach through those arches gave me a brief shock as we came round the corner and saw them (with caravan). lol. Great site, all be it very small. Wardens there were the most friendly ones we'd come across yet.
As an HGV driver, automatic trucks are the norm now. I would not like to go back to manually gear changing because it so easy driving with auto and less fatigue at the end of the day.!
Great to see some content concentrating on the chassis rather than the layout. Not much of this content about, though I don’t suppose many would choose a van based on the chassis manufacturer? My new Fiat motorhome has the new 9 speed auto which I love. I wouldn’t have picked this as an option due to price, but there was a special deal on for £700. I don’t know how Fiat justifies the high price, which also requires an engine upgrade. Three years ago I bought a new 5 Series BMW and was only charged £1700 for virtually the same gearbox!
On the Adamo you won’t be able to fit a tow bar due to the limitations of the Ford chassis, but you can up plate it to 4000kg, one of the reasons I sold ours, never thought too ask about towing at time of ordering expensive mistake.
Yes, I just doubled checked with Bailey and they've confirmed that on the Adamo you can't fit an approved tow bar and the vehicle chassis is already at it's max plated weight, so you can't up-plate it.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo I thought you could up plate it to 4000kg but if Bailey say no then it must be so, Swift have a model with the same layout for 2022 and you can get it with the Fiat 9 speed automatic and capable of fitting a tow bar, I think Bailey could loose a few sales with the tow bar restriction. How are you finding the shower tray depth? We had to get ours level or it used to overflow, nice Motorhome though with lots of space. Really enjoying the videos thanks.
I too love my auto Discovery, not driven a manual for a good few years. Beautiful area and rivers. Dear Poppy, always in the lead!!! Thank you both for the video.
Love your videos but I now have to turn the volume down as you arrive on site as my new boy runs to the window barking as he hears Poppy. The van looks great .... if there's a giveaway my address is .....🤣🤣🤣
Hi Bob..really interested in following you on your travels in this van as it looks great. Can I ask you a question about the drop down bed ? Instead of sleeping crossways is it possible to sleep lengthways baring in mind were only 5ft 8 just to eliminate the need for one person having to climb over the other to go to the toilet..thanks
Pleased you like the auto Bob. We have a Ducato motorhome with the 160bhp and new 9 speed auto arriving March 1st. Regarding start/stop, you can normally switch this off until you stop the engine. Did the Ford not have one?
Love the automatic. Our Merc Sprinter awesome auto . Pretty much all Oz Motorhomes are auto i guess because of our vast distances . Can’t really understand why you would want anything else on a large chassis and weight . Horses for courses i guess 👍🏻👍🏻
Didn’t have the Autotrail F60 for long but the automatic Ford base was very nice to drive Welcome to the dark side / future 😉 although I would recommend trying a Fiat 9 speed auto first if it’s the base before committing as compared to the Ford it’s cruise control is a bit primitive 🤔 Stay Safe 😜👍
Obviously ours was a 2020 with the new 9 speed auto box which is very good it was just the cruise control that let it down compared with Ford, Man, Mercedes & Volkswagens versions I found
I hate the stop start on my car and always turn it off now. It’s caught me out twice waiting on a hill and rolled backwards which was very scary especially for the car behind me! I maybe doing something wrong but I just turn it off now 😂
@@BobEarnshawMoHo it was that split second between taking my foot off the brake and applying the accelerator when it rolled back. If using the stop start now I’d apply the parking brake for a hill start.
We collected our new Land Rover Discovery D300 R- Dynamic HSE Auto two weeks ago after having Discovery 5 SE for the past three years. The difference between the two cars is amazing. Yes, agree with you and don't see why we'd need to pay an extra £3500 for the auto on a Fiat! Think the arch is 9ft 2in wide, so with care, 8ft caravans would fit through, as do coaches and the local bus apparently.
