I'M GEEKING OUT about the 50 states one!!! I work at a nursing home and so many of my residents believe that there are 51 or 52 states, and they are always shocked when I tell them there are only 50! I didn't realize that this was an actual mandela effect until watching this...my mind is blown!!!

This is what I wonder...if they make costumes and other merchandise for popular shows, cartoons, etc. and they modify them and that creates the different memories. For example, maybe the Curious George stuffed animal or t-shirts depicting the image with a tail even though he didn't have a tail in the cartoon. I have no proof of this, but reading your comment made me think some of the differences are not in the logical place. Like emoji's...there are so many things with emoji's on them -- balloons, costumes, clocks, bedding, etc. that are slightly different than the original emoji's (probably to avoid any copyright issues). We see them, and they become part of our memory, but we just blend them into the other emoji's we remember and we drop the context in which we saw them. When we go to use an actual emoji we think we are going crazy because it's not there...we can see it in our minds. We don't put it together that we saw the robber emoji in a costume and not on our phone. Or, we just assume if we see an emoji anywhere it must be a real emoji. I said a lot and I don't know if I made any sense. lol. Smiles

We always had to rewind and watch her again and again. Maybe it’s just certain DVDs from a specific era?

I vividly remember being young and seeing it on the TV guide and realizing it was "and" but I'm glad to know literally everyone else thought it was "in" too lol. it was also really popular before people had guide buttons on their remotes to find a show, you would just flip channels and occasionally go to the channel that tells you what's on, but now we see titles in print all the time so I don't think it would happen today.

I have a personal "Mandela Effect". Flats go really quickly in Edinburgh as there are very few places to rent. When I moved to Edinburgh, I only saw one flat (the one I now live in). I visited that flat with my mother and I secured it that day. When we left the flat, mum and I were excited that I would have a fire place and mantle to decorate, especially at Christmas time because we thought it would look really pretty. When I moved in a month later, we were shocked to see there wasn't a fireplace, even though both of us distinctly remember one being there. We didn't see any other flats in Edinburgh, so we can't have been confused.

This is my first time hearing about the chartreuse one. Personally, I knew for sure it was a bright yellow-green color because I had a Blue's Clues computer game about art when I was little that had a color mixing game, and chartreuse was one of the colors you could make. Does anyone else have clear vivid personal memories from your own past that no one else in your family or friends remembers? I have multiple memories that I have been told never happened from when I was a child. I clearly remember living in an apartment with a stained glass window that was by railroad tracks and my mother tells me we never lived in an apartment like that.
Tinkerbell 100% flew up to the blue castle, in fact, I remember watching several old Disney movies where it happened. But a few years ago I was watching the original cinderella because I was about to go to watch the live-action remake, and in the original Tinkerbell wasn't there, but I DISTINCTLY remember Tinkerbell being there when I had watched for the first and second times, and I remember being so confused because at the time I didn't know about the Mandela effect. A few years after this me and my family went on a trip to Disney world and we watched the fireworks at the huge castle and during the show, Tinkerbell flew on a zip-line across the castle, and I remember my mom pointing that part out to me, so I know it's not just me. I'm still confused to this day. Great podcast and I can't wait for next Sunday's episode!

okay the looney toons one is weird bc i always remember it being Toons and there's a record store in my town called Looney Tunes. like their name was literally a play on Looney Toons...... like why would they just straight up take the name. their whole thing was that their name was supposed to be like Looney Toons but since it's a music store they did Looney Tunes.

I have a personal "Mandela Effect". Flats go really quickly in Edinburgh as there are very few places to rent. When I moved to Edinburgh, I only saw one flat (the one I now live in). I visited that flat with my mother and I secured it that day. When we left the flat, mum and I were excited that I would have a fire place and mantle to decorate, especially at Christmas time because we thought it would look really pretty. When I moved in a month later, we were shocked to see there wasn't a fireplace, even though both of us distinctly remember one being there. We didn't see any other flats in Edinburgh, so we can't have been confused.

This is my first time hearing about the chartreuse one. Personally, I knew for sure it was a bright yellow-green color because I had a Blue's Clues computer game about art when I was little that had a color mixing game, and chartreuse was one of the colors you could make. I've never heard of anyone thinking it was maroon before.

Does anyone else have clear vivid personal memories from your own past that no one else in your family or friends remembers? I have multiple memories that I have been told never happened from when I was a child. I clearly remember living in an apartment with a stained glass window that was by railroad tracks and my mother tells me we never lived in an apartment like that.
Tinkerbell 100% flew up to the blue castle, in fact, I remember watching several old Disney movies where it happened. But a few years ago I was watching the original cinderella because I was about to go to watch the live-action remake, and in the original Tinkerbell wasn't there, but I DISTINCTLY remember Tinkerbell being there when I had watched for the first and second times, and I remember being so confused because at the time I didn't know about the Mandela effect. A few years after this me and my family went on a trip to Disney world and we watched the fireworks at the huge castle and during the show, Tinkerbell flew on a zip-line across the castle, and I remember my mom pointing that part out to me, so I know it's not just me. I'm still confused to this day. Great podcast and I can't wait for next Sunday's episode!

I’m absolutely sure I read an article a year or so ago that Judge Judy had passed away. I so vividly remember seeing it and thinking about it. It wasn’t until a couple months ago that my sister mentioned her and I realised she was alive. So strange😳
