Before asking when or if someone is going to have a baby, PLEASE remember that ONE in FOUR women experience pregnancy and infant loss. There may be a reason someone hasn't had children. Don't assume they just don't want to. So many women struggle to maintain a pregnancy and don't need that added stress of people constantly asking WHEN... Just a thought.

@@ailaoctober I've had six total. I do have four children, my boys, and some have asked if I'm "trying for a girl"... but after six losses, I am happy with the boys I have. No more. It's too painful to lose and then get angry at my body for "failing" at something It did successfully before. It's just not meant to be for MY family. I always try to remember that pain before making ANY assumptions about someone else's parenthood. I am so sorry for your loss and your issues thereafter. Sorry doesn't take the sadness away but there are no other words to say. :(

the reason why childhood feels like it lasts forever is bc when we’re kids, we’re learning EVERYTHING for the first time & as we get older, we know what we need to know & basically live the same day over & over. so the key to making time last longer is to be constantly learning something new about life 🥂✨

I’m going to be 30 soon and I’ve been in a relationship for 9 years now. We’re very happy, we love our life together and have no desire to be married or have kids. Marriage is like whatever but having kids is a non negotiable. It’s completely off the menu for us. The response we’ve received about this is so bizzare. In addition to everyone initial reactions when they hear it, the absolute disrespect people show is insane. Once you’re the couple who doesn’t have a kid, people stop asking things. As a woman I noticed I get treated almost like a teenager still because I’m not a wife and mother. Very bizzare. Also people try to convince us to have kids😕 like what? Why would you want a couple who doesn’t want kids, to have them? Seems toxic.

OMG thank you for saying this i relate so much 😭 we got married (been together for over 10 years and married for 6) because we wanted to do so but kids? nope never...and people just don’t care about your life anymore once you’ve made it known you won’t have kids. as far as family goes, they treat you like a child constantly even though we’re both 30 with a mortgage. and ask and joke about becoming grandparents etc. why is having children more important than getting a promotion at work or having goals outside of family ones? some of us don’t want the burden of being parents. there’s nothing wrong with that. friends who have kids drift away from you bc you just can’t relate. it definitely sucks.

Someone once told me that the reason time feels like it’s going by faster as you get older is because your concept of time changes. When you’re 8 years old, 8 years feels like a lifetime because it literally is your lifetime. But when you’re 40, 8 years doesn’t feel as long in the grand scheme of things. - hope that makes sense :)

Interesting fact: when you are a child you have slower processing times because you're still learning about the world and its strange idiosyncrasies. As we get older and develop routines, however, we become accustomed to how the world operates and therefore more time passes between our perception of each new mental image (essentially we experience less unfamiliar moments as adults than we did as children). As we no longer need to 'absorb' all of our new daily experiences in order to learn from them, it makes time appear to pass much faster while we're adults.

The footage from Kendall's wedding was so beautiful. Everyone was so happy that it literally radiated out of them. I was one of those girls that always wanted to grow up and get married and raise a family. But life didn't work out that way for me, and I'm actually happier than I thought I would have been without it. It also really wouldn't have helped the health issues that I've ended up with. Even though my health ruined the career that I thought I was going to have, I've found a new passion, which will hopefully let me help so many more people than I could have in any other line of work.
Moral of the story for the younger people out there: don't hang all your hopes and dreams on one thing. You never know what life will throw at you, and you may end up better off than you thought.

I’m so glad y’all made this podcast! So many relatable topics in just this one episode. I’m currently 25 weeks pregnant. I told our close families at 13 weeks but didn’t tell anyone else until just recently. We weren’t going to post it to social media but my sister was low key judging me for not and pressuring me to make a post. Alot of people voiced their concern why I waited so late in my pregnancy to say anything and simply it’s none of their business or concern. The pressure of other people wanting a big gender reveal, a big baby shower and other stuff has really irked my nerve because to me it’s not my concern. I’m just trying to grow a healthy baby and get myself prepared to be a mom. I know I’m not the only one out there that feels this way. I just didn’t feel comfortable gloating about my pregnancy when I know there’s thousands of women that are struggling with infertility.

I’m 30 and I wish I felt that motherly instinct Kendall is talking about. My bf wants kids and I have no problem giving him kids, I want kids but I don’t want kids if that makes sense. I don’t wanna have kids JUST because my bf wants kids I want to have that desire as well but I just don’t have it 🙁

I would recommend taking a deeper dive in trying to figure out what might be the core reason(s) as to why you feel like you don’t have that motherly instinct. Many people face those same insecurities because they didn’t grow up with their mom, or maybe their mom wasn’t a good parent, or maybe you associate motherhood with trauma, etc. I would recommend maybe looking into therapy, and trying to see if you don’t feel like you have a motherly instinct because you aren’t familiar with it, or you fear that you won’t be a good mom, etc - it could be a variety of reasons. (Attending therapy, in general, is so beneficial!)
If after doing some deep reflecting, and attending therapy, and doing the necessary steps to figure out why you feel the motherly instinct isn’t there -if you still feel the same way - then I would recommend not having children. You may not feel like you have a motherly instinct now, but that could change in a few years. Who knows. But honestly, deciding not to have children doesn’t make you a bad person, and it doesn’t make you broken or damaged, or anything of the sort. If anything, it takes a tremendous amount of courage and maturity to even have that immense amount of self-awareness. Kudos to you for being vulnerable about that!
I would also recommend talking to your boyfriend about your feelings as well. Just be honest about some of the concerns, fears, and insecurities you may have. If you don’t want children, I wouldn’t force it. I would hate for you to be pressured or guilt-tripped into having kids, simply to fit into society’s norms or to satisfy your boyfriend. Kids are a huge responsibility. You’re molding a tiny human being to grow into adulthood, and you have to be responsible for them for the rest of your life. If that’s not something you feel prepared for, or have the desire to do, then that’s completely okay! It’s important that your decision not to have children - if you do ultimately decide that - is acknowledged and validated. 🥰
I’m sending lots of love and light way! ✨

    I had to comment on this Sesh. I adore all of you and watch every episode of every podcast. 💜 So many things you said in this episode rang bells for me. Invisible illnesses- I suffer from neuropathy, and people don't understand how I can't feel from the knee down except burning fire and how I can walk but had to work at it because my knees do most of the work. Kids- you are so right! They will break your heart, but believe me, they will also burst your heart. Love and pride are just a portion. I had my first at 16, another at 23, and third at 30. The 7 year itch 😊 We married at 30, but my fam is huge (And Catholic) and we heard about marriage and more kids a LOT! We did it our way though. Not to let people down but I have too much anxiety to walk down an isle in front of people and I'm told it's frowned upon to be stoned and/or drunk at the time. LOL I regret very little. I am now 50 and the grands keep coming! My 7th is due in July. I also have 4 step grands. My thought is MY God doesn't reward bad decisions with so many grands. They really are the reward. I'm sure that is far from your minds but it is something to look forward to in the future. You get to help raise them and teach them morals but when the stinky boom booms happen or when they're acting just like the parents in a bratty way, you get to smile and enjoy the show. Childhood Christmas- I miss these most of all. The magic and innocence will be with me forever. I loved my parents with all my being and every holiday was great but Christmas was amazing. The magic died for me when my daddy passed at just 51 of a heart attack just days before Christmas. I wanted to die when I had to unwrap the gifts I made him and purchased for him. I guess I did die a bit. It took all I had to continue tradition with my own kids. I'm glad I did. They have bonds with cousins and now my grands are building bonds too. You have so much to look forward to. Do it your way and enjoy every second! ❤️ (Apologies for the book!}

The idea that the social “norm” is where society tells everyone when they should have kids has to go. My husband and I had our first when I was 17 & he was 20. We had our second at 21 & 24. It isn’t for everyone and no one should be expected to have kids. As long as you’re happy with your life is all the matters! Love you guys & the fur babies. 🤍

Motherhood is joyful, amazing, exhausting, challenging & strengthening. It is truly a transformative experiance for you as a person not only do you give life but you are reborn as a mother ! It makes you stronger than you thought you could be, love to the fullest capacity & resilient.
Its a true rebirth of your character in so many ways. Selfishness is squeezed out of your body as a mother 😂 but it makes you all the better for it. Exhausted and drained in those early days but your transformed when you become a mum.

Society gives a lot of pressure to women that doesn’t want the traditional lifestyle of having a family. People judge women that want to be single with have no kids thinking something wrong with them. I struggle with that in my own life with my loved ones pressuring me. It’s ok to be single. It’s ok to not want kids. As long you are happy that’s all that matters❤️

Would love to see an episode about Kendall’s medical history! I think people need to be empowered to take health into their own hands - whether that means visiting multiple doctors or ordering their own tests and doing their own research. I actually had a similar experience to Kendall where for years I knew deep down that I had PCOS. I went to 6 doctors who all told me there was no way I had it. One day, I decided to order my own laboratory tests, and low and behold, I have PCOS. Shortly after, I found a doctor who confirmed it. If you have questions and concerns about your health and something doesn’t sit right, don’t ignore it until you get the right answers! I have a lot of respect for you, Kendall, and it grows with each video/podcast I watch!

My mom passed recently and she was a spiritual woman who lived a full life but she was always told she would never be able to have kids until she met my dad and one day at age 38 she became pregnant. Everyone thought it would kill her or something bad would happen. But I was born with no health defects and she didn’t even feel a thing. And always called me her miracle. I don’t feel the need to parent myself, I grew up fast and she tried her best. But she was still a great mom. This episode reminded me a lot of her and I thank you for that. I hope you both have a wonderful day
