When I saw this in the theater and the credits stopped rolling, I sat in silence and contemplated the fact that the entire Star Wars saga at that moment, literally spanned my entire life! I was born in 1977 and was in my mother's tummy when she went to see the original Star Wars in the theater!
Good to know another fan from the womb. Same here. I was born to be Star Wars fan. Mom told me how I started doing flips when the opening theme kicks in. The day I was born the #1 song in U.S. was “Cantina theme” from Star Wars. MTFBWY Always
according to the novels, the song was titled "mad about me", i believe by the max reebo band. (but the cantina song was played by an all bith (that's the species) band, my memory might be a bit confused.). i own a copy of most (95% or so) of the stars novels ever published, up until disney retconned them all and made them "legends".i used to reread them every year or two, but since disney did that, i haven't read a single one, nor have i bought any of the new novels. oh, and those instruments that look like clarinets are called "slitherhorns."@@jgant5063
I'm a bit younger but watched the OT as a kid all the time. I've been a fan ever since and it was a surreal moment seeing this in the theatre. There was a guy sitting in the same row, probably in his 60's, who teared up at the ending. I talked to him briefly when heading out and he had seen every SW movie the day they came out (this was his second time seeing RoS). Felt cool to hear that and see how much these movies impact people.
My oldest sister was a big Star Wars fan and she is the one who introduced me to the movies with Return of The Jedi when I was 6. She passed from cancer at age 52 a few months before this movie came out. I am an introvert with extreme social anxiety, but I forced myself out of my comfort zone and went alone to the movies to see this. I just kept thinking to myself how much my sister would've loved this one if she had seen it
Hey, Jay and Amber This movie actually released after Carrie Fisher (Leia) had passed and it had her real-life passing written into the storyline using unreleased footage from "The Last Jedi"
@@John_Locke_108 I can see that. It's pretty good. I watch it least of the Disney produced movies myself. I really like the Rey character, so I watch the trilogy the most, and then I like Solo next and then Rogue One least. That's not a knock on Rogue One because I do like it too, just less. I know I disagree with 90 percent of the people on the internet about that. It's all just a matter of opinion.
Originally Leia was supposed to be in it more but Carrie Fisher sadly died. In more then one movie, you've said- why didn't the main character kill the baddie, only for it being the right decision not to kill them. Glad you liked this trilogy, I did, though many didn't.
Man, Carrie Fishers death in the middle of this, killed me! And then when her Mom died the next day, gosh what a tragedy. I loved how it ended, but sorry it is over. You still have to see Rogue one I think? The movie that goes between episode 3 and 4.
The Jedi who spoke to REY were, in order, and what they said to her, was: OBi-Wan Kenobi (""These are your final steps, Rey. Rise and take them... Rey... Rise."), Anakin Skywalker ("Rey... Bring back the balance, Rey, as I did... The Force surrounds you, Rey... Let it lift you."), Ahsoka Tano, who just says Rey's name... and its a little weird, because Ahsoka is still alive at the end of Episode 9, Kanan Jarus ("Rey... In the heart of a Jedi lies their strength."), Luminara Unduli ("The light. Find the light, Rey."), Qui-Gon JInn ("Every Jedi who ever lived, lives in you... We stand behind you, Rey... Rise."), Aayla Secura ("Let it guide you."), Mace Windu ("Feel the Force flowing through you, Rey."), Adi Gallia (Rise, Rey."), Yoda ("Rise in the Force, Rey.", Luke Skywalker ("Rey, the force will be with you, always) Most of these Jedi were from Episodes 1, 2, & 3. Others were from the cartoon series,
Ashoka died in episode 2 of rebels, but in a alternative timeline she was saved by Ezra and save Grogu so that he could become Lukes first apprentice and not Ben as in this time line. His makes the sequels to be in an alternative time line.
The old bartender in the saloon on Kijimi, right before our team went see Babu Frik, was played by the legendary John Williams. After 8 films of only composing and conducting the score, he finally got a cameo appearance in the Star Wars saga. 😃
In The Force Awakens. On Mazs planet... as the weapon is destroying those planets. Finn is leaving with those guys and is on the ship helping load up, when he hears screaming and he looks up, surprised.
It really is a shame the scene of Finn eventually telling Rey he's Force sensitive was cut. It's especially baffling when the bits of him wanting to urgently tell Rey "something" were left intact.
Please check out one of Harrison Ford's best films, THE FUGITIVE, from 1993. It was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. It's a very suspenseful, first-rate action thriller that you both would just love.
Top 5 favorite movie line is in that from Tommy Lee. "I didn't kill my wife! I DON'T CARE!!!" 😂😂😂 just the look on his face and the delivery, like there's many a great dialouges and even monolouges/speeches in films that I like even love, but those 3 words are hands down amongst my favorite movie moments ever.
J.J Abrams, the man who directed 7 and 9, gave the voice of D-O and the composer for the saga's music, John Williams, cameoed on the planet Kijimi; he had that thing over his right eye
Even though Ben (Kylo) turned to the Dark side for a long time, at least he turned back to the light when it mattered most. He definitely followed in his Grandfather's footsteps
Very well done made me like the movie the there will be more episode 10 movies with Ray and Grogu. If you watch the Mandalorian before this because there’s 30 years between episode six episode seven so there’s lots more to see you guys should watch the Mandalorian watch the book of Boba Fett and the clone wars, and Star Wars rebels that’s all the Star Wars. It’s all good. with that Watch Asoka Asoka is the newest Star Wars show. She’s the apprentice Anakin’s Skywalker.
Yep. They forgot that one... its not just a Palpatine thing.... Frankly i think it would have been more interesting if Rey was related to someone like Dooku.
"Much to learn you still have, my old padawan." What a great line. It's the teacher putting the student in his place when the student gets cocky with his skills. I love this little attitude from Yoda. Then Dooku decides to try to beat him with lightsaber skills and gets owned and runs away. That's my favorite lightsaber duel in all of Star Wars. It's the first time we are shown what Yoda is capable of. Mind blown.
YOU dont understand how thankful i am for yall uploading this today i just binge watched ur reactions to the others in this series last night and was sad to see the last one wasn't up yet. but I just got home from a stressful day at work and this is the BEST SURPRISE EVER THAnk youuuu!!!!!!
Great reaction to close out the Skywalker saga! Rogue One is a must watch, but don't sleep on Solo. Its a really fun movie. If you decide to start a TV series. Start with the animated series Clone Wars. It starts out slow and a bit cringe, but mid season one it gets good, and the final 4 episode are some of the best Star Wars story telling. I think you'll like some of the new characters Clone Wars and Rebels introduces.
Yes, definitely! Rogue One, Solo, The Clone Wars, The Bad Batch, Rebels, The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-wan Kenobi, Andor, Resistance, and now Ahsoka....you still have tons of Star Wars to enjoy! And every single movie and series ties in with all the others.
Watching every single episode of the Clone Wars and Rebels is a very tall task that most people these days don't have on board. Just stick with the online lists of essential episodes and you should get everything you need out of the Star Wars experience
You guys always make me smile so you are meeting that goal big time!!!So glad you guys enjoyed this! When Kylo talks to Han he uses the same dialogue he did when he killed him but now when he says “Dad” he’s crying because he’s so sorry for what he did 😭.
Vader didn't use Force lightning because it would have messed up his mechanical suit and his breathing. That's what killed him. Palpatine's lightning fried his suit.
You realize Carrie Fisher had already passed away when this film was made....unused footage from the other films was used and they cgi..ed Carrie's face onto her daughter's body for other shots.
this reaction is everything. watching new star wars fans and general audiences finally come round to watching the sequels and having an impartial reaction to them is everything. the film is such a beautiful ending to the saga and your reaction moved me. Finally the sequels are getting the true love they deserve. SEEING YOU GUYS ROOT FOR REY WAS JUST WOW, meant everything to me.
“They were in love? They were trying to kill each other all 3 movies!” Thank you so much for having a sane reaction to that bizarre, ridiculous, stupid kiss.
46:18 That Was Rey’s Final Jedi Trial. Rey Tapped Into The Power Of *EVERY* Single Jedi From Luke And Leia To The Very First. This Is When Rey Became A Jedi Master
The fact that they were able to use previously filmed scenes of Carrie to use for this movie is so awesome. I love that her daughter Billie is in this one again too, even though her mom really wasn’t on set. Breaks my heart that we effed around with this trilogy and didn’t get the OG3 onscreen together again :(
I remember going to see A New Hope in the movie theatre when I was 20 years old. It blew our minds. It’s so much fun watching you guys discovering this Universe!
I'm so jealous... I'm closing in on 50 years old and I saw all the films in the theaters when they first came out and I enjoy them all. It must be some much fun to watch them all together for the first time. Man, so cool. I love that you are enjoying them all!
I didn’t know if you noticed or if this was talked about in earlier comments but in Rise of SkyWalker when Rey healed Kylo Ren His Scar also disappeared from his face. Almost as if he was completely healed including his Heart going back to Good Ben SkyWalker.
As someone who watched the original Star Wars in the theater when I was 11 years old on it's opening day...I don't care what anyone says...as a TRUE fan, I love this movie. I agree with you when you said how well they tied all of the previous stories together. This movie made me so happy. I'm glad you enjoyed it without any of the overly righteous fan bias. I can't wait until you now watch the other movies and series that tie it all together so well.
I was born in 1977, the year the original was released. There was SO MUCH dispute about this movie that I didnt watch it for years, but am so glad I didnt listen to everyone else, because I liked it. Im not a hard care lore fan like some people so I didnt have a huge problem with the overall plot of Palpatine returning since the known knowledge of Sith powers like that existing. Yoda could do the electricity with his fingers too.
I'll tell you a little secret. The fanboys screaming about Palpatine coming back weren't in on the lore. Remember the clones? Palpatine didn't just want that tech to create an army. That's how he came back. That's where Snoke came from too -- Snoke's kind of like Palpatine's son. Rey's father was also a clone of Palpatine but a not very successful one. And you know how Palpatine wanted to send his life force into Rey and take her over? He'd already done that. That's the body he was in when Rey met him in this movie. It's a Sith skill. I'm guessing he learned it from Darth Plagueis, his own master. Remember him telling Anakin about that guy learning how to conquer death? There were clues all through this and the neckbeards just weren't paying attention.
@@urthboundmisfit I admittedly didn't pay that close attention to everything hut it wasn't incomprehensible that Palpatine would return, which seemed to be most of the criticism seemed to be about. I liked the sequels. I actually liked the prequels the least, mainly because I couldn't stand grown up Anakin. He was such a brat.
@@M1cha3lP that's why I was confused. That because he summoned lighning to burn the texts, although it didn't come directly from his fingers, so, I see your point. I'm just a movie lover. No claims beyond that, besides stealing my older brother's action figures when I was a kid. My favorite was the Jawa he had with the hood and Palpatine.
Yet another fantastic reaction! This film never fails to bring me joy and emotion and provoke thought, and I’ve yet to watch a reaction that doesn’t bring others the same! What a movie! What a reaction!
This really made me grin! Your reactions when you thought Chewie was dead. Leia helping Rey was a lovely way to say goodbye to Carrie Fisher. Now you can move on to the spin off movies Rogue One (it fits between episodes 3 and 4) and Solo, Han's back story.
You two are such compassionate Star Wars fans.. 😢 I am too and I cried with you.. You are both my favorite reactors and people I know about! May The Force Be With You!
There were rumors that Jannah (the woman Finn meets on Endor’s moon) was Lando’s daughter, kidnapped when she was a small child by the First Order, however, the novelization of Rise of Skywalker indicated that wasn’t the case. Never know though, could get retconned.
I think my favorite part of the movie, or at least my favorite line of dialogue in this movie, is when they ask C3PO what is he doing and he says, "taking one last look at my friends". If that doesn't tug at your heart then something is wrong with you.
BTW, Count Dooku had Lightening, too... it's not just a Palpatine thing. ALL Dark Side users can wield "Force Lightening"... even Anakin. But because he got so injured in his fight with Obi-Wan, he had a mechanical body created to save him, hence, not being able to use Force Lightening as one of his Powers (since doing it would short out his electrical suit).
Loved so much that the Star Wars saga means so much to you. Im glad a new generation can see it for what it is....a great story. Thank you for allowing us to take the journey with you two.
Not 1 Disney Star film is a great story. Not even a portion of any single one. So stop, we know you have an opinion, but when it’s wrong don’t push it on
@@User87_a number of people agree with this original comment and love this trilogy. Look at the number of the positive comments here about the movie. Yours is the first negative one I’ve seen after the first 30 comments I read. And before we all get accused of “not really understanding Star Wars,” I was born in 1977, been watching the movies since I was two years old, and saw ROTJ in the theater, plus all the shows and movies and cartoons since, plus some books and comics, and i think the sequels are great. When people realize that these three trilogies are meant as generational sagas where the heroes of one trilogy must step aside and pass the baton to the next, just like the prequel heroes do in the original trilogy, and then the original trilogy heroes do in the sequels, it makes better sense. Every single supposed weakness in the sequels can be shown in the original trilogy when watched after the prequels in chronological order. Imagine people watching the movies these days in chronological order (as George Lucas has said they are meant to be seen), and they get to the original trilogy and ask questions like: why is the emperor not in episode 4? Why is bail Organa never shown on screen? Why is Alderaan never shown before it’s blowed up? Why is bail Organa killed off screen? Why don’t bail, Obi Wan, and Yoda get even one scene together with them all alive? Why isn’t Yoda in Episode 4? Why does Obi Wan die in the first movie of the new trilogy? Why are Obi Wan and Yoda hiding out on these remote planets while the galaxy has gone to trash and the empire has killed millions of people and enslaved even more and so many Jedi have been hunted down and killed? The list goes on and on. And don’t say it’s because the original trilogy came out first. Lucas knows that and could have done more in the prequels to set up those “deficiencies” better. The sequels do the same things the originals do because they are both generational trilogies to pass their respective batons after the prequels. The prequels were largely maligned when they first came out and for a number of years after, with only revenge of the Sith being favored and with the clone wars cartoons having to fill in a lot of the untold story of the prequels, filling in unanswered questions to the prequels, and making the prequel trilogy better in light of it, and it was only when all the kids who grew up liking the prequels got old enough to speak that now the movies are more celebrated (ROTS still favored of course). One day the same will most likely happen with the sequels, if history repeats itself. Looking at the comments here, more average folks and newer viewers that don’t come with baggage enjoy the sequels more than the internet noise would lead people to believe.
And rogue one is often on most people’s top 3 Star Wars movie list. Andor is fantastic. Mando is fantastic. I’ve enjoyed Obi Wan Series and boba Fett as well. Solo Movie is a fun Star Wars heist movie and han origin story, similar to the original marvel Star Wars comics that came out right after episode 4 in the late 70s. It took all these years for Solo to come out and give fans of those original comics a fun romp through the Star Wars universe that wasn’t so heavily ties to the skywalker saga (before empire strikes back came out with Vader revealing Luke’s parentage and we knew that would even be a thing).
In 1976-1978 i saw Jaws, Close encounters, Superman and Star Wars in theaters. What a time! Time after time, i kept seeing the same fans going to my local theater numerous times to experience the Star Wars magic. I had never seen such devotion in fans before. Nothing can compare to the original trilogy, but i still enjoy the ever expanding universe and look forward to more.
And so it all ends... the Skywalker Saga is finally complete in the Rob Squad's playlist! I had SO MUCH FUN watching your reactions to these movies you guys! I will always say these are my favorite videos of yours without question, since you had a blast getting to know the story, the characters, the atmosphere, EVERYTHING AND you got to experience it on your own terms You ignored all the negative comments and reviews that came with the prequels and sequels with dignity and I'm so proud of you two on that regard A true fan will accept anything that comes with the content, good OR bad Star Wars has flaws, yes but that's what makes it fun and you guys showed it all nine movies and I thank you for the journey you shared with us P.S. You never replied to my message that answered your questions about the last jedi (guess it's too late now huh?)
Emperor Palpatine survived Episode 6 by transferring his consciousness to a clone body. In the Rise of Skywalker, Palpatine is shown strapped to grotesque machinery inside a lab on the ancient Sith planet of Exegol, with life support and twisted Sith magic keeping him alive.
At the end when everyone came to help out did you notice wedge? He was an all three original trilogy movies even though he didn't play a huge part he was one of the main Rebel Pilots and the original Three and he came back to help out in the end for this one. It was cool how the voices of Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, Luke Skywalker, Leia, Mace Windu, and Ahsoka Tano could all be heard telling Ray to rise. You don't know much about Ahsoka Tano but she's an incredible character she was the Padawan of Anakin. I highly recommend Rogue one, it was an incredible movie. You should also watch the Solo movie, it gets a bad rap but I thought it was very good
Hello. Not sure who is doing the editing for your videos, but there are long stretches where we don’t see or hear what is happening. For example, the scene with Zori Bliss was completely obscured and silent. Can you please ask your editor to leave at least enough picture or sound so that we can follow along?
Y'all still need to check out "Solo" and "Rogue One". Both movies take place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Watch Solo first, then Rogue One.
Fun fact. The character who gave them the info about the spy (and who ended up beheaded) was voiced by Mark Hamil. The planet in the final scene was Tatooine, where Luke grew up.
@@judyhuurman1237 I love these guys, they know the love on the other Star Wars videos, but I’m sure they respect our opinions as much as they value our views too Surely #Robsquadforever
@@ViewsByTaz I agree. I don't know about you but I've probably watched Star Wars about 100 times so far in my life so I can pick up on some of the nuances. I was never into the comics or books so I learn something new each time a viewer chimes in.
19:20 - The only Jedi to have ever used any form of "electrical pulse" power was Yoda, I believe, when he was fighting against Darth Sidious in Ep. III: Revenge of the Sith. It was the fight scene between them in the Senate chambers. They were matching each other with that power, and then Yoda said that they will have see who was the better swordsman with the lightsaber.
@maruskaehrensdorfer Why do you say that? It's a common dark side ability. We also see Dooku and Snoke use it and that's just in the films. It's also a power in every video game where you have dark side powers.
@@xDarthSTYXx it's just my opinion, which doesn't mean that I'm right. I just feel that although there was some temptation for Rey to go over to the dark side, she never really came close enough to it, so (to me) it would be weird for Rey (who is basically a Jedi) to have such a dark side ability, unless she has the ability because of her Palpatine (dark side) bloodline. Just my humble opinion.
Thanks, Jay! Thanks, Amber! 💫 I'm so glad y'all appreciated this one, I did, too. 💫 I hope you'll do SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY (2018) next' it takes place a decade before A NEW HOPE... then ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY (2016) which takes place immediately before A NEW HOPE. Plus, the live-action tv series!!! 💫 #RobSquadMovieReactions #JJAbrams #StarWars #TheRiseOfSkywalker
When Rey first touches Luke's lightsaber in The Force Awakens you can hear Palpatine's voice deep in the background say, "These are your first steps". Dude was layin groundwork for decades just to get to this point.
Don't know how many of Tom Hanks' early comedy movies you guys have seen, but if you haven't watched any of them (besides BIG), then you MUST! The following are essential Tom Hanks comedy films: "Bachelor Party" (1984) "The Money Pit" (1986) "The Man With One Red Shoe" (1985) "Splash" (1984) These movies were all before Tom Hanks went all "serious" on us, and started to only do mostly dramatic films. His origins were in comedy with his beginnings on the short lived, but classic cult TV comedy, "Bosom Buddies" (1980-1982).
Oh, P.S., Tom Hanks also starred in a dark comedy movie called, "The Burbs", with actress Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) who plays his wife in the movie. I don't think it is as funny as his other comedies I listed above, but since I know you guys are fans of Carrie Fisher, I suggested it in case you wanted to watch it out of curiosity. :)
When you rewatch Star Wars, recognize what would have been the greatest perhaps twist in Star Wars (even better than Darth Vader being Luke's father), Jar Jar Binks being the TRUE Phantom Menace. It's sad that Lucas chose to pull out of that idea, which would have REDEEMED the character of Jar Jar. Now all we can do is see the powerful Sith master in his glory in The Phantom Menace movie ❤
The lines where the final order says where did they get this navy? and the other person says its not a navy, they're just people, messes me up every time! A detail I love is that all three trilogies have an iconic shot of a Skywalker looking into the double sunset, with the prequels and sequels ending their trilogies that way.
I have been a Star Wars fan since I was 5 years old when my mom showed me Empire. My mom was there in 1977 to see the first movie in theaters. My mom and I both agree that The Rise of Skywalker is our favorite Star Wars movie of all time and we love Rey so so much.
Your favorite? Really? I was there in '77, too, and have been a huge fan all my life. I not only consider Rise of Skywalker the worst Star Wars media of any kind but also rank it as one of the worst movies ever made.
Saw Star Wars in 1977, I’ve got every movie on every format, VHS, Blue Ray, laser disk… I have figures vinyl… record books… I’m not a fan of the new movies, only Rogue One.
"We ain't seen nobody have that power. To stop a ship taking off?" LMAO maybe not in the MOVIES! Y'all haven't seen anything! Vader does this casually, and he's far from the only one!
So glad I found this today. I knew you would love it like I did. So many haters. I think this is the best and most emotional of the trilogy. You really got it unlike many others. I had tears with you🥲 as far as Rey and Kylo, I don't think it was so much a romance but more of a complete emotional outlet at the end with all they had gone through and the connection they had that they finally understood, chosen by the force to finally complete what Anakin started. And Rey so much wanted Kylo gone and Ben back, and that's what happened. She was just so elated. And Kylo was so grateful to her for not giving up on him because she knew of the constant internal conflict he had the whole time. Ben finally returned and it was because Leia reached out to him in that moment and then Rey compassionately healed him in honor of Leia's sacrifice. You probably didn't notice but when Rey healed him, the scar she gave him on his face was also gone. Then when he has the vision of his dad, he realized his true self was back. All very cool.
Snoke was a clone of palpatine He had a plan to be resurrected by making them in his own image Finn had force abilities because a normal being could not ignite a saber
I know a lot of people hate this movie ,but I enjoyed it on the first watch and have developed great affection for it. I particularly love the break neck pacing
When Rey hears the Jedi before her confrontation with Palpatine, the following are heard - Qui Gon Jinn, Obi Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Mace Windu, Yoda, Luke, Leia, and lastly, Ahsoka Tano (as voiced by Ashley Eckstein who played her in animated shows). Ahsoka now has her own series on Disney Plus played by Rosario Dawson in live action. Ahsoka was Anakin's padawan during the Clone Wars and was created exclusively for that TV show and movie. She later helped start the Rebellion with Bail Organa (Leia's adopted father). Originally, JJ Abrams wanted to have them appear as Force Ghosts behind her, but I think there were contract issues with some of the actors and that Ahsoka's fate was yet unknown as of the setting of the film. The main beef the fans have with this trilogy is that Lucas gave Disney a draft outline of his plan for the sequels, and Disney tossed it out, then practically ad-libbed the entire sequel trilogy. As per their contract, Lucas was required to receive residuals and other financial agreements WHEN any project used his characters, primarily Luke, Han and Leia. This is why they each died in the movies. Carrie was to play Leia and she would have still died off, this way Disney would legally no longer be bound to that contract and could go forward with new characters and stories. There are three more movies planned - A new solo movie with Rey (possible trilogy), and which she would be able to create a new Jedi Order. A Dawn of the Jedi movie, set 25,000 years before the main movies, showing the creation of the Jedi. Then Dave Filoni (creator of Ahsoka Tano) gets his "Endgame" style movie that ties in the live action shows he created on Disney Plus (Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka). Jay mentioned how the Sith on Exegol were "cult like". Which is exactly what the Sith are, a Dark Side cult. Lots of lore that involves the Sith using alchemy, the Force, and other methods to enact deeds that are antithesis to life. The mastery over death. Which is what Palpatine meant by "The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities, some consider to be unnatural." If you rewatch the Prequels, his plan for a Clone Army can be looked at in a new light. The Clone Army was a "proof of concept", if cloning can be accomplished. He would later transition that idea into attempting to clone Force-Sensitives by kidnapping children, a story arc explored in both The Clone Wars and Rebels, and by extension carried into The Mandalorian. In that show, we learn General Hux's father is the head of a military project called Project Necromancer which is the plan to complete a successful clone of Palpatine and resurrect him. A plan enacted shortly after his death, then finalized 40 years later. The Force Dyad is a new concept introduced in this movie. Basically think of Ben and Rey as "twin flames". One soul, two bodies. If you pay attention to some of their scenes, Rey is always featured with water, or blue colors. Ben is featured with fire or red colors. Fire, red - the Divine masculine; blue, water - the Divine feminine. It's an old idea in our real world dating back thousands of years of alchemy, hermeticism and the occult. This is also featured in Clone Wars in a story arc called Mortis. In it, Anakin, Obi Wan and Ahsoka visit this odd floating pyramid in space occupied by three aspects of the Force. Light Side (feminine - The Sister), Dark Side (masculine - the Brother), and Balance (The Father). A Triad which Obi Wan is Father, Anakin the Brother, and Ahsoka, the Sister respectively.
Lucasfilm did keep some of the basic structure of Lucas's notes. The biggest plot point that was discarded was the "Fantastic Journey" concept of exploring the micro world of Midichlorians. Luke would have still gone into exile, Han would have still died, and the protagonist was still female. However, Leia was never meant to die as she would have been revealed to be the new Chosen One to fulfill the prophecy. Indeed, Leia survived in Colin Trevorrow's original Episode IX script, "Duel of the Fates", which was written before Carrie Fisher's passing. Trevorrow still received a writing credit on "The Rise of Skywalker" as the story used bits and pieces from his storyline.
It is interesting when you realize R2-D2 was present when Luke and Leia were born at the end of The Revenge of the Sith and when Leia dies in this movie.
What was going on with your editing in the middle... I had to skip to teh end as it was just you sat there in silence? - Glad you enjoyed the movie though. and it is cool that you didnt hate on it as loads of people crap on these last 3 movies! COOL...!!! Try Rogue One!
50:47 - So glad you guys love the Millenium Falcon. When we were growing up with the original three movies, all of us LOVED the Falcon! That was THE ship of all the Star Wars ships for us! Everyone had to have one, lol.
Thank you so much for taking us on this journey through the Skywalker Saga!!! As much it was heartbreaking to lose our Original Trio especially with Carrie Fisher’s death having a huge impact, it was amazing to see Star Wars be passed down to a new generation. I’d really be down for you doing other Star Wars films and series, especially The Clone Wars. 🌌🛸⚔️🩵💙❤️💛
I can definitely picture plenty of Grandpa Aniakin and Grandson Ben conversations happening. Comparing notes and helping each other heal. After all, they have similar histories with The Dark Side. Like Ben saying, "I killed my father, how can I forgive myself for that?" Then Aniakin saying,"Whilst I never deliberately killed a family member. I accidentally caused your Grandma to die. Also, I once tortured your mother before realising she was my little girl." They could definitely help each other. Plus, Ben can find out what his Grandpa is really like and not just what he'd been told by those villains to whom he'd been listening. I'm starting another comment.
The best question to ask someone when approaching this movie is, can you accept that Palpatine is back suddenly. Because if you can you'll enjoy this movie and accept how they explain it. For me the day they announced he was coming back I got on board with it quickly, because I had been seeing a constant theme in the sequel trilogy of accepting mistakes and moving on from the past. So what better representation is there for that then the most dangerous sith lord coming back to haunt the present and the new heroes needing to conquer him in order to truly be free of that past for good. Plus getting Palpatine back meant we got more Ian Mcdermid in the role as a result and in my opinion it was glorious. He did'nt miss a step and still felt bone chillingly sinister and terrifying as Palpatine. It still felt like he gave it 110% when he was on screen.
The day I was born the #1 song in U.S. was “Cantina theme” from Star Wars.

according to the novels, the song was titled "mad about me", i believe by the max reebo band.
I was fortunate to see the original in theaters, the line was literally a mile long lol
Another 77 kid! I was born a week before the original came out
Chewie crying out still gets me 90% of the time.
Chewie's the BEST!

Definitely should do Rogue One next. It’s an excellent Star Wars film
Easily the best of the Disney produced Star Wars movies.
Oh, definitely. I would also recommend they watch Andor before Rogue One. Brilliant series.
Criminally underrated film. It was marketed as a stand alone story but it really isn't. I watch it just as often as A New Hope.
It felt like the OG series

The old bartender in the saloon on Kijimi, right before our team went see Babu Frik, was played by the legendary John Williams. After 8 films of only composing and conducting the score, he finally got a cameo appearance in the Star Wars saga. 😃
So it's confirmed that Finn was trying to tell Rey he thinks he's Force sensitive. Which explains some stuff in the movie.
Oh, he is for sure.

Count Dooku used force lightening also when battling Yoda. Yoda deflected it and then absorbed it and squashed it in his hand.
What's actually amazing is that Carrie Fisher was long dead before filming this movie. They did an amazing job.
They just used unused old footage from Force Awakens
Did they even realise that?
I always found it comforting that people a long time ago in a galaxy far far away spoke English. Those Brits took over EVERYTHING.
I'm a HUGE star wars fan, from the 80s and I absolutely LOVE this trilogy and this movie. screw what all the bitter fans say. It was amazing.
it's not bitterness to say the writing is bad and makes no sense half the time. Both director's screwed each other over for this trilogy.
No...I didn't realize that. 👍
It was very sad about her dying. So close to her Mom too. Very sad....
Clearly they didn't realize that, no need to be patronizing about it. Just explain it to them, sheesh. 🤦

The fact that they were able to use previously filmed scenes of Carrie to use for this movie is so awesome. I love that her daughter Billie is in this one again too, even though her mom really wasn’t on set.
Hey bro, I was eleven also and you took all my words out of my mouth!
Yoda never did the electricity thing with his fingers. He knew how to absorb it from others though.
@@M1cha3lP that's why I was confused. That because he summoned lighning to burn the texts, although it didn't come directly from his fingers, so, I see your point. I'm just a movie lover. I think my favorite part of the movie, or at least my favorite line of dialogue in this movie, is when they ask C3PO what is he doing and he says, "taking one last look at my friends". If that doesn't tug at your heart then something is wrong with you.
So glad ya'll finally got to this one. Can't wait for the 3 new ones they are planning
Have a good day everyone

Yoda didn't do anything other than reflect lightning back. He never created any.
@@xDarthSTYXx well I presume that Rey got the ability to create lightning from Palpatine. It's the only explanation that makes sense.
Don't know how many of Tom Hanks' early comedy movies you guys have seen, but if you haven't watched any of them (besides BIG), then you MUST! The following are essential Tom Hanks comedy films:
"Bachelor Party" (1984)
"The Money Pit" (1986)
"The Man With One Red Shoe" (1985)
"Splash" (1984)
These movies were all before Tom Hanks went all "serious" on us, and started to only do mostly dramatic films.

The lines where the final order says where did they get this navy? and the other person says its not a navy, they're just people, messes me up every time! A detail I love is that all three trilogies have an iconic shot of a Skywalker looking into the double sunset, with the prequels and sequels ending their trilogies that way.

@@lastguyminn2324 Yes, and you WILL NOT take away my LOVE and JOY for this movie with all the negativity I've heard before. :D
I actually think the reason Palpatine wanted her dead was because he believed she would become even stronger than him.
Saw Star Wars in 1977, I’ve got every movie on every format, VHS, Blue Ray, laser disk… I have figures vinyl… record books… I’m not a fan of the new movies, only Rogue One.
"We ain't seen nobody have that power. To stop a ship taking off?"
LMAO maybe not in the MOVIES!
Ben will return just wait they aren't going to let the skywalker line die lol.
Snoke was a clone of palpatine
He had a plan to be resurrected by making them in his own image
Finn had force abilities because a normal being could not ignite a saber
I'm so glad you guys enjoyed this Star Wars Journey!!! Thank you so much!!! YES WOULD LOVE A STAR WARS NIGHT!
It is interesting when you realize R2-D2 was present when Luke and Leia were born at the end of The Revenge of the Sith and when Leia dies in this movie.
I am STILL waiting on y’all to watch “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Elvis” 😂😂😂
It might not be popular with everyone but id love to see once upon a time in Hollywood on here sometime
🌌🛸⚔️🩵💙❤️💛
I was seven in 1977 when Star Wars premiered. You’re never too young. Raised my kids on this franchise.
I can't help but feel when Ray was brought back by Ben the left a force baby....I mean his hand was on her abdomen lol but that's just my opinion
Love this trilogy. Actually, I love all the trilogies. They're all so good in their own way .💙💙💙
OG Star Wars fan and while I have a lot of faults with a lot of what Disney has done with Star Wars, I can definitely agree with your statement 100%
C-3PO is a Skywalker technically.
A lot of people, a silent majority, are already starting to adore VII-IX, and rightly so! They follow one of George's treatments VERY closely.
