Dear Nathan, thank you for your reaction. I know you’re a music man but I would strongly encourage you to turn on the English subtitles too. This song is so heart wrenching and we know Yoongi’s past and previous hard hitting songs about his mental health. It makes Amygdala so poignant for me and his live performances of this is beautiful and hard to watch at the same time. An outstanding artist on every level.

He’s not bothered about the lyrics. It’s evidently not his bag, it’s production. I wish people will stop asking him to put subtitles on because that’s his way of getting people to comment. Don’t get me wrong, I like his insights but this is his strategy in generating comments.

Watching him perform this song live was totally gut wrenching - but also amazingly healing - for the artist and for the listener - and his last concert , August 6th this year, that door takes on a whole new significance. Yoongi has battled some true demons and overcome them, including suicidal thoughts - this trilogy is his artistic representation of that long battle. Yoongi has truly come of age and the sky is absolutely the limit - he *is* that good.

Strongly suggest turning on subs. This song hits hard!!! At his final concert a few weeks ago the door appeared on stage and he finally got to walk through it. Finally moving beyond the pain and looking to love himself more. His family was in the audience, it was a beautiful moment for those who got to see this. Wish I was there!!! Love your reaction!!! If you don't want the subs on you can do a raw reaction w/o them then turn them on and re-react to the lyrics. 💜💜💜 Mic Drop, Black Swan, MAMA 2019, MAMA 2018, Blood Sweat and Tears (BTS). @@bluehourtarot Some songs, especially with MVs, just make no sense without the lyrics. I also like analyzing the music but if i wanted to enjoy the music only, i would listen to intrumental music, not a song with deep meaning. But it's his channel, i just don't understand the approach.

    • @bluehourtarot
      @bluehourtarot Год назад +16

@@DoctorStrange01 I agree 100%. Especially with the rap parts. It’s all about the lyrics, especially in Korea. Also, it’s the lyrics, to me (my opinion) that separates BTS from most boy bands. I’m sure there are some that have meaningful lyrics, but it’s mostly about love. There is a place for that but if you are analyzing BTS, you have to have that awareness. I also listen to instrumental when I’m not in a lyrics mood and when I listen to Bts, like in the car with no translation, it feels like I’m listening to classical, at least in the beginning before I really knew what they were saying. Now that I do it’s different. Their music reminds me of a good book, that you can read over and over instead of a fun read that you pass on the minute you are done with it.

I love that they can do all the fun stuff too, but the songs like Tear, Shadow, Black Swan, and Tomorrow: they allow themselves to be emotionally raw and vulnerable in ways that are not typical in pop music. For me it really makes them relatable as fellow human beings, and helps to strengthen the bond beyond just artist and fan.

Even if you don’t want the translations, the viewers might like them. Also if “i can’t understand what the lyrics are saying” just turn in the captions. Ok, onto the pausing. you keep checking the timing to your left as you are watching, are you timing out 15 seconds so you can stay monetized? There are other ways you do that that won’t interrupt the flow of the music. You might get more into the music if you actually understand it.

Amygdala told me he'd been wearing/showing us his scar the whole time, storytelling tool indeed, a heartbreaking one. I'm glad he's ok now, at least that's what he said about writing the song, that he has come out and he hopes to help others. If you're in that space mentally it's hard to believe anyone understands unless they really show you they do. There's something helpful just knowing that.

These three videos are a trilogy, not necessarily the songs themselves. Basically, from my reading, the first two are fights happening inside of Yoongi's mind as one part of himself wars with another. In Amygdala, we see what has caused his unrest. We see that he gave himself the scar that appears on his characters in the first two videos. We learned that he's trapped inside of his mind doing battles with his own personal demons until he can finally leave the room and get well again. You are a unique reactor, because you focus so much on the music and the track. You point out things going on there that I've never heard or noticed, which I appreciate. I do wish that you'd watch with the lyrics to sort of put it all together, but I'm enjoying your videos so far anyway.

wow. it’s been a while since i’ve listened to amygdala without it playing on shuffle in my playlist. it’s a very emotional and heavy song. and believe me, even i didn’t expect all the singing he did in this song. and yes, you heard correctly, he was singing “I don’t know your name” in the beginning.
this is a very emotional and meaningful song. this is the beginning of his conclusion to his life struggles. it’s really hard to put into words? but yoongi has gone through so much and survived a lot of things in his life so far and through his music - from his first mixtape until this solo album - he was able to channel all his anger into his music. yoongi with the scar struggling to open the locked door is very symbolic - trying to escape the loneliness and feeling of being alone. this music video showcases his struggles and how he dealt with them.
yoongi’s struggles concludes during his encore tour in korea, there’s a clip of it around i’m sure, because the concert was streamed online. but going back, the last day of his encore tour ended with him looking back towards his audience with a smile and him walking towards that door and finally able to open it. that scene alone was so emotional for me to watch, i was crying at the end of it. that scene was yoongi saying that he’s finally happy and finally ready to move forward.

He sang this song during his tour. When the concert ends, he doesn’t say bye, doesn’t wave to the crowd. He just turns and walks out.
On the very last show of the tour, he broke down during his last 3 songs (last before encore). ARMY sang the songs in support of him. When the concert ended, everyone was expecting him to just walk off, too. But when the lights turned on, he was still there. Smiling. He said bye, went to every corner he could go to bow and wave to the crowd. Then on his way out, at the back of the stage, the Amygdala white door was there. And it opened. He turned again and waved to everyone. Then went through the door and closed it behind him.
It was a very moving, heartwarming, and personal message. He’s doing better. We don’t know if that means the end of his Agust D persona - if he’ll never be August D again. Not sure if he also knows.
Even on your own time, watch his and Jhope’s documentary on Disney+. They share everything about the making of their solo projects. And you’ll see snippets of them performing certain songs.

There, I gave you the comment. Though you don’t have need to hold back on something from us to generate more comments. We freely love on our beloved reactors who respect the boys and their viewers alike. You don’t need to try these things to generate more engagement if that’s what you’re doing. (I hope I’m wrong though)

Also, just another tidbit of information, while we know that you have your own focus area like production as a lot of other reactors do, Army are a lot more intrigued and motivated by a more holistic reaction.
Also we respond very well to respect. And I won’t talk about others here but I dont like being treated like engagement only. I’m a person.
I’ve held back a few times because I wanted to give you a chance to read the room. Even so I’m one person. It won’t be a big loss to you if I grow disinterested here.

Thanks for reacting. As others said read the lyrics, you can put up subs, or download and read before. BTS songs and AgustD lyrics especially, are very deep. Their solo albums that just came out are showing sides of the members that we don't always get to see with the group performances. It was their lyrics that drew me in, when you are ready watch the Spring Day video and an explainer. That story drew me in and the more I listened to their songs and read the lyrics, I joined ARMY and haven't looked back.

Yoongi expresses his struggles and sends encouragement to struggling ARMYs in a lot of his songs. D-DAY, his solo album, and his previous mixed tapes all talk about his difficulties with his mental health and how people should keep going because it will get better. He even wrote a song on D-DAY inspired by Ryuichi Sakamoto (a famous Japanese composer and pianist, if you don't know) as a message to aspiring artists to give them encouragement.
He's grown emotionally over the years with his brothers (BTS) by his side. I am of the opinion that the world might have lost him without them. Because sometimes the rap and hip-hop scene can chew people up and spit them out, not to mention the music industry itself. Having their love and support has made him who he is and he has the desire to pass that on. His messages have helped me and many other ARMYs, I have no doubts about that. The high energy songs brought me to BTS, but the powerful messages and passion for music are what have kept me listening for the past 7 years. It is amazing to me that a group of guys who are around a decade or more younger than me and don't usually sing in English can have such a serious effect on my life and my journey. But they are what got me through the pandemic and I will always be greatful that they found me and helped me find myself. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I’ve came to like BTS a year ago but once Yoongi started his solo activities.. man, I became infatuated by him and his work. Is not common to have this kind of music as raw and direct as he has done. Many songs from his mixtapes and DDAY album were so emotional and triggering for me cause I’ve dealt with depression, social anxiety and adhd my whole life and being witness of how he fought his demons through music made me proud and helped me understand that I too can achieve this state..

It was so emotional and sooooo good. I hope he wins an award for his concert showcase. Amazing. Straight to the heart. It is SUGA that we grew up with telling the true story that ARMYs who have been around for 8-10 years are already familiar with. But he lays out his emotions in D-Day. It is all about feeling and the brink but not losing hope and finding confidence in yourself. Be your own superhero. At the end, it was the best answer to his family, the team, to ARMY, and to the world.

Suga has always been honest and open wirh his struggles with OCD and depression. At one point he was talking about his accident he said that if only he had acelleraded his scooter he wouldn't be here. He dealt with his accident alone and explained that when he looked up the car tire was literally right beside his head. He hurt his shoulder really badly. When the company found out he lied and said he fell down the stairs. He was afraid to tell the truth because he didn't want to be fired or kicked out of the group. He was essentially moonlighting because he was a delivery driver when he got hurt. He dealt with his shoulder pain for years taking medicine and shots on his shoulder all while going on tour and doing the choreography and dance practice for the tours. When the company found out how he hurt his shoulder they paid for his surgery on his shoulder and his rehab. They also paid for the rest of his education. That is one reason he was moonlighting he wanted to pay for his schooling as well as other things. Because when they first started they weren't making much and his company was at one point on the verge of bankruptcy. His mother had heart problems due to her pregnancy with suga so he blames himself for her health issues. His father found out about his liver cancer while Suga was on tour so he couldn't help his mom or be there for the beginning of his father's illness. Both his parents are fine now, his mother has a pacemaker and as far as i know his father is now cancer free.

It seems he's doing it on purpose or something....if he finds it distracting, he could at least watch it a second time with the captions on. Or take a look at the lyrics beforehand, I'm sure doolset has been recommended to him a lot by now. He does some things that feel insincere for someone who loves music so much...
Anyway, everyone should go check out Tribe Loui's reactions, he's one of the best reactors as of recent. But he doesn't seem to get as much traffic because he puts crazy video titles that aren't very algorithm friendly. It has been pointed out to him, but he doesn't care about views or clout, so he sticks to his creative titles lol. Hopefully more people can be put onto his channel though, he's very sincere and thorough.

Yeah you should turn on the captions every time you do a BTS song. Their lyrics are super meaningful and deep and thought provoking. You’re doing yourself a disservice by not diving into that part of their music.
As for the heaviness of this song, it’s the prequel to the other two songs. The setup of why he was struggling so much and why he ended up with that scar and a dual personality. You can see in Deachwita he’s fighting himself and they both have scars. But in Haegum, they’re fighting but only one has the scar (and it’s faded some). Eventually the Joker version of Agust D (without the scar bc he’s done a lot of work and healing over time) was able to kill the destructive dirty cop version of himself. So it does bring hope. But you need to read the lyrics to all three songs to fully get that picture.

Knowing his entire story (I’d watch a video on it) we learn it as we are fans, the mental health and trauma he has had is quite heart wrenching (he didn’t tell anyone about the accident in fear that he would be kicked out of the training system of BTS) just such a philosophical aspect to his thinking. Again seeing the split personas, trying to save yourself even that dark part now from being trapped and instead being freed from that darkness… amazing
In In the Soop (in the forest) where bts went and filmed as they took a break- we see him read a book about a boy who was in an accident which basically broke his amygdala - and he took inspiration for a great song 🎵
Also : I’d read the lyrics online and meanings before reacting to the song :)

I think of the trilogy as him facing versions and parts of himself that he wanted to get rid of or release in some way and THIS is the culmination of his healing. His facing the very hardest memories and things holding him back from healing and showing it to us as his progress moved him to a new place. I absolutely love this man. I have no words. He not only helped my daughter have hope, but he helped ME understand her pain. She is doing much better now, thank God! These guys are so precious to me!
