The original Korean title of the song is 들꽃놀이 which I'd translate to "fireworks of wildflowers" which corresponds to the real spectacle of fireworks you saw that uses an old Korean technique. So no, it wasn't CGI, it was real. RM created this word to express how he views himself - a nameless wildflower (a normal, average person) that explodes across the sky (who became a star).

The fireworks surrounding RM are real. Those are traditional Korean fireworks. They do not use the usual explosive gunpowder. Bags containing charcoal made from salt and burnt mulberry are tied to ropes that are stretched over bodies of water (notice RM is ankle deep in water).
The concert was green screen. There is a Shoot Sketch (making of) the video.
Cho YouJeen is part of the band Cherry Filter, as well as a solo performer. Cherry Filter's first album came out in 2000.
Wildflower is from RM's Indigo album that was released in December last year. He collaborated with a number of artists that he admires and respects, including Erykah Badu, Anderson Paak, and Paul Blanco. He will be releasing another album before the end of the year.

Namjoon is our poet. The central pillar of BTS of almost all their songs, he had a part in almost every song. He also has incredible instincts for collabs. In this he asked YouJeen to join him and she didnt think her voice would work. She’s the lead of a punk rock Korean band and felt her style was too loud and would never fit. But her voice pops like fireworks in this and is absolutely perfect as he predicted. It pure power and so perfect. The producer for this is a member of the band who tours live with BTS. Docskim has only produced a couple of songs for BTs but they are all top hits (Lie, Outro Tear) and he was at a point of being frustrated and giving up music but working on this inspirational song with RM helped him find his love of music again. Their songs don’t just help Army but also the people who work with them.

    Thanks for this reaction. :)
Actually, 들꽃놀이(flowerwork) is the official title of this song in Korean.
In Korean, firework and flowerwork have same pronunciation except only one syllable. It's kind of word play. Perhaps you can imagine a scene where petals are flying in the sky like fireworks.
Oh FYI, the scene of fireworks flying in the sky at 2:50 in the music video is called Nakhwa Nori(a falling fire play), a traditional Korean fireworks that have been around since the 15th century. This is a firework that hangs a bag of charcoal powder from a long rope suspended in the air, lights it up, and flies it on the water like petals.
If you enjoyed Wild Flower, I highly recommend another title, Still Life. :)
INDIGO consists of 10 songs, and each song has a collaboration with a different great artist. (including Erykah Badu, Anderson Paak) I recommend you to listen to 10 songs in order. :)
There're detailed interviews about how RM made INDIGO. You can see how much he put himself into this album.

Because I found BTS first, I’ve had a hard time relating to other Korean artists. BTS music usually has a message and that’s what I’m drawn too. All the K-groups can dance but, while the songs are catchy, many have lyrics that just don’t grab me. BTS sets the bar high. I’m glad you’re enjoying them. By the way, I’m 68, and the BTS ARMY has many fans my age and older. My husband and I flew to LA to see their concert in 2021. ARMY is a family. Everyone related to each other like old friends. Never experienced that with any other musician.

Their ceo Bang Si Hyuk encourages all the members to actively take part in the music process since the beginning. So all of them have produced some of the songs, all have written music, etc. Each member submit their version of a song, and he (Bang Si Hyuk) chooses his preferred one. Of all seven, SUGA is the "main" producer, but their company also has an actual in house producer for BTS who's been with them since the beginning. In their latest anthology album- PROOF, the 3rd cd are some of the member's own work that were not chosen or released for their albums, but ones they wanted to share with fans.

There's a recording from a mini-concert and also the Tiny Desk performance with RM. I highly recommend it :)

The "fireworks" around RM that you said you wish could be experienced in real life are actually real :)
It's called "Nakhwa Nori" and is used in a korean traditional festival in Haman, Korea, the fire looks like flower petals falling.
RM asked the Haman preservation society for permission to use it and the people in charge there helped make that scene possible.
I really recommend watching the behind the scenes videos for their MVs if you are interested in seeing how they are shot, because they use real sets and practical effects for almost everything and it's quite cool.

Namjoon in the start was primarily a rapper / writer of his lyrics. Keep I mind over 13 years and with all the training they have done they have grown and developed the singing ability just like his dance. This kid has a 149 IQ and he is super intelligent and analytical but also incredibly gifted . He reads like non stop, he travels and appreciates art in so m any forms and media. He is a very deep thinker and is in expressive. Over time he is developed the producing skills just like Yoongi also if you do a check on them most the them have also gotten a BA in production and broadcasting from a university there. This comes from the indigo album, and took him over 4 years to put this together, because it needs to sound a way that expresses what he has gone through. He is very profound and amazing.

Mono is one of my favorite albums. And part of that is he does a lot of singing in Mono as well. His range isn't the same as V or JK but he's a brilliant poet, and he has a hand in almost every song that BTS put out. He's has a genius IQ... But something most people fail to take into account is that Hangul (Korean language) is so different from western languages that it's nearly impossible to translate word for word because the words carry cultural meanings that are not quite the same as in the west. But he can use wordplay to rhyme English verses with Korean Hangul and even though I don't speak or understand Hangul it sounds beautiful. I'm glad you appreciate it. Thank you for sharing your insight.

I loved this song when I listened to it the first time, and the more I listen to it the more I love It. The lyrics are so relatable for me, rm is truly a genius songwriter, a poet.
There’s a particular line in the song that never fails to bring tears into my eyes, "society is all about loud voices but here I am still speaking silence". I’ve always been criticized and laughed at by my parents because I was the shy kid that didn’t like people nor speaking to them, and they always told me that I’ll be a failure that they can’t be proud of if I continue to be like that, that I’ll never have a job or a place in the society because of my quietness, that other kids will probably have a better future because they can speak freely to everyone. It really hurt me, but after listening to this song and reading that exact line, it truly helped me a lot

RM is a poet, how he puts words together is amazing. Well, he is a genius (IQ148). Thank you for taking the time and learning their personality. I fell in love with BTS first because of their lyricism and their sincerity. Whether they sing, dance, or simply do their lives. Their words pierce the heart. Their actions speak louder than words though. So from a silver ARMY, I always feel like a proud big sister to these young men.

His 148 IQ plus his pair of adorable dimples is what got me into BTS. But the deeper I know him, the more I am convinced that he’s one of kind, the only one in this world. Not perfect but every bit of good thing a person can be, that’s RM.

I LOVED Indigo album SO much. He really showed off his skill and talent and passion. Every song sounds different and none of them were what I expected. This song actually made me cry. It's so vulnerable and honest and Youjeen's vocals are just soul piercing (she's the lead vocalist from the band Cherry Filter). He really just poured out his heart and soul in the album and found the perfect collaborators to bring his vision to life. IF you're interested he did a mini concert at Rolling Hall for this album with 250 people and it's phenomenal. ruclips.net/video/6ZIh3ZLbUv8/видео.html&pp=ygURUk0gaW5kaWdvIGNvbmNlcnQ%3D
BTS is truly a phenomenon. I was never into boybands when I was younger, I was more into Disturbed, Evanescence, Nirvana,Aerosmith, Guns n Roses etc... Now everyone is flabbergasted at how much I love these guys. But they're just so talented, so hard working, and such lovely humans that I can't help but be a fan. I keep saying to my friends and family that don't get it, because it's out of character for me, to maybe think about WHY I got so into them, they're different than anything else I'd ever experienced and the more I get to know them the more I respect and admire them.
Also, Earth Song is one of my mama's favorite songs of all time. Made me smile when you mentioned it. And you're not old, you're experienced. That's what I tell myself anyways lmao. level 44 human right here, thank you very much!

Seriously, this album, named Indigo, is really an amazing album. RM uses featured artists on his songs like a painter uses a highlighting colour on a painting. It's amazing.
and yes the Michael Jackson song you're thinking about is Earth Song. I am also an MJ fan.
on that subject I have seen BTS twice live, it's like seeing 7 MJs on stage it was absolutly AMAZING. Best shows I have ever been to. seriously MJ level performances. You really need to watch their Award show performances serously.

There is a “behind the scenes” for this MV. They went to Mount Hwangmae in Korea at sunrise. The fireworks are also real. At the end they are coming down on him. He broke the fans hearts with this one. He is actually saying that when he started that he planned a beautiful fall-and he wanted to end it while there was still applause. That he doesn’t want to be “thrown up in the air again” in praise. (All the BTS guys are so humble.). He has said on an interview that BTS is like those fireworks, but he wants be a flower work because when you throw them up in the air they fall down gently and remain for much longer and fireworks are great but quickly burn out. But they are going strong even now with their solo work before all entering their mandatory military enlistment supposedly by year end. RM seems happy for now and is working on new music.

I really wish you can do more songs from INDIGO, this album is a Master Piece. Yun, Lonely and Closer are my absolute favorites.❤ ive been an ARMY from 2015 and ive seen them go though all kinds of ups and downs, in my opinion RM really has played a huge role in them stayin united and slowly getting over all and any obsticle. He doesnt always get the credit he deserves, just from being the leader of this group and although he can produce and does at least all of his own music, his heart truly lies on songwriting. I mean, without him we wouldnt have some of the most popular/iconic BTS songs we know and love today. Jhope and V are my favorite members, for various reason, but RM will still take my utomost respect. And as a human being, he is just remarkable.

I would recommend reacting to the "I need u" video, which was filmed when their company was near bankruptcy and they basically did a 180 on their image and style as almost a last ditch effort (which worked out pretty well), kicking off what is now known as the BU or BTS Universe.

RM said he would be a poet if not a singer/rapper. I argue he is a poet. His entire first solo studio album, Indigo, is worth checking out. He does a lot of collabs and has a live of the entire album you can see. He has done previous albums that were released for free on sound cloud I think. I dig Do You and Moonchild. He and the other rappers have taken vocal lessons and all have some great music out with them singing. Keep asking and we will get you hooked up with a list of options. BTW, many of the fans call RM the President because he is such a natural born leader. He is an impressive guy. I am glad you are getting into BTS. Millions of fans world wide are not wrong.

Loving your reactions and you. Thanks for bringing us along your journey. BTS was unexpected for me too but here I am 3 years later. It never gets old or boring. Their versatility is the best... whether as a group or now their solo work, you never know what you are going to hear. I am rap line bias but it was so effortless to fall in love with the vocal line. The journey is fun. RM goes insanely hard in JOKE then completely vulnerable in Forever Rain and has everything in between. YES PLEASE WATCH Taylor's Guide with us. I am a sucker for that and watch it every time! It does not get old. Sad you already watched some of it. But yes, you can see how unique they all are. I am sure it was similar in your band too. They are individuals and bring so much to the table. They worked insane hours, which their new book goes into a bit. They started out with nothing and grew themselves without industry support. Their company is the biggest now, but they did it their own. Love how humble the boys all are and how they support each other in each of their success! ARMY never cares how long a review is. We never mind if you pause and go back to read lyrics or hear the flows. If their are LIVE options, they are always so good live. The channel 'Enjoy BTS More' has been putting subtitles to a lot of their lives, concerts, etc. She really takes time to research and provide the best translations. A real gift for the fandom. Enjoy your journey and thanks for sharing it with us. 💜

Oh. And we knew you would fall harder into the "Rabbit Hole". Enjoy the fun journey. We realize there is so much to watch. We understand. And here is something you don't know. They also have their own TV show. They play games, compete, do activities, and act silly and crazy. You will find out they are all hilarious and real comedians. This kind of "variety" show is big in the Asian culture. The name of their show is RunBTS. I had no idea. I stumbled upon the show randomly on RUclips. And watched out of order at first. Then I went back and watched in sequence. The first shows were short. But the more they made, they got better and longer and more entertaining. It's the kind of show where you come home at the end of a day and just want to relax and laugh and enjoy the personalities of the guys. And laugh and destress. So...down the road...RunBTS episodes. It will take you awhile. There are 156 of them!!!!

The reason they started making their own variety show is because they couldn't get booked on Korean Variety shows, or they were mistreated. Three huge entertainment companies controlled most of the bookings, publicity, and even charts. Bang ShiHyuk came out of one of them and started his own small company. When his BTS started to succeed, there was actual intentional sabotage toward BTS because they had gone around the established system. In Korea, they are still downplayed somewhat by the Big Three because they made it in spite of the system.

Indigo album is a Masterpiece 🎉 One day you will tell me how blown away by the LYRICS, I hope. RM has been writing these lyrics putting his deepest emotions regarding his career from beginning till now. He sees himself as a POET first music producer, musician second. LYRICS are what makes any BTS song on another level. Yes MVs are of the highest quality money can make, and their music production is at the top of the game, yes the have great melodies, but no one can compete with their message, their LYRICS. No ARMY can listen to Flowerworks and not cry at the painful journey RM has gone thru to arrive at Flowerworks. Are you even curious about the line "no name it what I have"?

I really love this song. He puts things into words so well. I think that's part of what made BTS so famous - his writing. People can relate to the emotions because he states them so beautifully. Forever Rain is another song I really enjoy. It's very mellow and perfect for days when you're feeling down. Personally, I don't listen to a lot of RM's music because he's too aggressive for me 🤣 I enjoy more of his collaborative BTS work. But, I respect his writing so much. Even when he writes messages to ARMY it's always deep, philosophical, reflecting.... Always beautiful.

It's personal, emotional and a lot of care, thoughts were put into it. He released a docu about the album, how it came to be, what the songs were about, why and how he chose his featuring artists, etc. BTS truly is the best. They don't just release songs that would be Tiktok or viral hits. That's how much they respect their fans, they have no second thoughts releasing deeper songs because they know Army will analyze what they put out and will hear and understand their message loud and clear. I'm very proud of them. 😊
