His show Suchwita has really showed him at peace and enjoying himself. I always feel Suga is the one who has changed the most through the years as he's taken on his own trauma.
Yeah I agree. It really seems like he has worked through his trauma and is healing and I'm just so proud of him for that because that's a really hard thing to do.
This entire trilogy is nothing short of a masterpiece! So incredibly personal, raw and honest. I feel honored that he chose to share his inner self and struggles with us like this, if that makes sense?
Please note the split-second image of a hand holding almonds at 4:21. This is a reference to ALMOND: A NOVEL about a guy who has trouble identifying and describing experienced emotions because of a neuropsychologic condition (alexithymia). The "almond" refers to the amygdala, an almond-shaped area of the brain. Yoongi was seen reading this book in a preview to IN THE SOOP. The book is on Namjoon's recommended list.
I truly was speechless watching this. What broke me was the end when he cannot get out no matter how hard he tried, all of a sudden I was gasping for air. I love this man and cannot wait to see and hear him in 2 days 🫠🫠🫠

They all have been going through tremendous amount of heartache and pain in the pass, but all then choose to relate in their songs. Bts have chosen to sing songs to uplift the young of this generation going through all sort of different problems in life. I love them all cuz in the end we all are humans being, who needs to be loved in this life . God bless the all❤❤❤

The way Yoongi as Agust D so artfully shows the struggle of clinical depression is so well done. Everything is exhausting and overwhelming. Negative spiraling thoughts of dark moments in your past. Never seen anyone so eloquently bring you into the world of someone suffering from deep depression and how difficult it is to even function. It also shows how you fight for the light to return. He out did himself with this masterpiece and yes clinical depression runs in my family. Had it 3x in my life. It is awful, but once through it the joy and sunshine will return with therapy and meds. Thank you Yoongi
"Seeing him happy make me genuinely happy" Awww, John. I feel this so deeply. Especially since I can relate to some stuffs that he went through, just...knowing how hard it is to be doing all these schedules or jusg being strong for others or sharing this story to us, just make me wishing all the happiness in this world for him and respect him more as a fan.
Although we saw Yoongi back then in early Run BTS and different content and he seemed happy, he was pretending. I think it was JK in one of their FESTA (maybe 2021) said that Yoongi used be so down and they used to really worry about him but when the cameras were on he tried really hard to be cheerful. I remember Jin had even written a letter to him and read it at concert telling him it's ok he doesn't haven't pretend to be strong all the time because they are there for him. He's really come a far way and we can see now just how different and genuinely happy he is.
Lotus flowers grow in muddy water and often come up unscathed from the murky depths, symbolizing hope, rebirth, strength, and resilience. I would say aside from the unscathed, Suga compared himself very accurately to that flower. He cleaned the murky water around him.
Such a great comment 💜 now i think what if i do a lotus tattoo to remember this deep meaning, because as we all do, i have difficult period in life now. Sorry for my bad English. Sending much love to you 💜 and to Yoongi, and to the boys 💜
There is always so many delightful and meaningful things in BTS or solo videos. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. I am gonna look out for it.💜
My little one (she's 8) got into BTS almost 2 yrs ago. I'm a metalhead. Her journey through Kpop has blessed me with some wonderful songs. This is one of them. I usually screen what she's listening to (for obvious reasons) before saying she's okay to listen to it on her own, and when the D-Day album dropped (soon after Jimin's album-which she absolutely needed because she adores Jimin), I screened it before giving it to her and I never expected to cry after listening to Suga's solo album. This song, especially broke my heart because it was insanely relatable. Long story short, I'll fight anyone who bad mouths BTS members. They all have such incredibly touching, Albeit different, backstories... and they're all such sweet humans that I'd literally fight for them like they're my own children. They're all so talented and hard working... I wish only the best for them
His Amygdala MV was so emotional for me, for him, for everyone who has struggled mentally ❤ The end of his concert, Suga finally opened and left through that door!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I think over the past year Suga has become a social butterfly - especially from what I've seen with him walking in a program with Jimin. It was Jimin who was shy. I like Snooze! When you watch Rchwita/Suchwita... RM interviewing AgustD - RM even got an neon sign with his name, it is so funny.
Each time I watch this video I tear-up. The two things I take away from it is: 1. Music is extremely powerful outlet. 2. You truly never know what someone else went/ is going through. Yoongi is a private person and the vulnerability he exhibits in this song and album...words can't express. I grateful he allow us in and that he's still here with us.
i'm not just saying this because he's my bias but i'm genuinely so proud of him, he's been through so much and what's so admirable is that not only is he speaking about his hardships, traumas and struggles but as he does that he speaks the feelings of people that don't know what they're feeling until it's said by someone you look up to and makes you want to better yourself
I can’t watch this video without crying! He is so raw. He shows everyone that you can overcome obstacles! I love the effects. I love his singing voice! I just simply love him.
this song made me emotional.. Suga had a real car accident before debut at his part time job being the delivery boy riding motorcycle he was also newspaper boy delivery newspaper and he worked a graveyard shift back in high school because he couldn't afford his family couldn't afford ... and also this song is about him in the past trying to......he was suicidal but he is no longer he will no longer do it. He reborn the lotus symbol is being reborn he is stronger now I really suggest you see his full mixtape his first second and third it goes through so many details of his life.....
Yoongi has a chance to become the first ever korean soloist to hit Number 1 on billboard hot 200, everyone please buy his album (using different emails if you want to do it multiple times) and stream his music as much as possible!!
This song is hauntingly beautiful.....I can't imagine how hard it must have been to reenact his car accident....much respect....this is my favorite song from the album....#D-DAY #OT7
I knew since the beginning that this album is a masterpiece because Suga is a genius musically speaking …. I am so happy that he puts all his emotional experiences and thoughts in all these songs …. So happy as well that now he is free … Thanks for you reaction…! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💜💜💜💜🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
My favourite songs from Yoongi were The Last, Interlude: Shadow, Seesaw and Burn in this order. From first time i heard this one... Its my new no1 now. I love his hype songs too but interspective ones from him just hit different.
Man. Like, I know he’s been through a lot and that he suffers from depression, but seeing it play out… Especially that car accident! 😭😭😭 Yoongi never gave up though. I hope people who are struggling can see this and know there is light after the darkness. 🥹
Yes it is very hard to watch, but everyone of us has our pain to face and hopefully we can come out on the other side stronger, wiser, and more confident that we will succeed and hone our skills in growing from the tough times. I think this album is a healing triumph for him to get it out, let it go, and move on into the musical mastery he is developing. The manure makes the flowers grow. Thanks Suga, we love you.🤗💜🪷☮️🎶😂😇⭐️
I had already cried while listening to Agust D, but this mv adds such a visual to the emotion that I burst into tears at least the first ten times I watched it. It's a masterpiece and a gift. I'm thankful for his trust and grateful he's happy now.
This video is devastatingly beautiful. The fact that he writes and produces everything.. he's a musical genius. I hate that he's had to go through all that. Incredible that he's such a a kind and humble man considering.
When I watched it the first tine, I was in tears for AgustD/Suga, like you I only knew about the car accident, I also just wanted to hug him, not in a fan way, just to support and show I cared. He really is an amazing song writer, producer, and performer. Also an amazing human. Each member has shown such vulnerability in their writing, so raw and real. I was sad when they said hiatus, when they are back together, BTS will be on another level.
I am thankful to him that he trusted us with this. It's almost like he figured ok they have met me,know me pretty well, I feel comfortable enough now to take the chance and put it out there. This is why he is the way he is and I love him even more for believing in us. It's hard to watch but he just bloomed just like that lotus flower did❤
As he say on his live today he is moving forward with his life after making peace with himself 😌 The past is the past but we don't won't this past to control us we need to take lessons from it to make our today's and tomorrow's much better and stronger version of ourselves 😊
Yoongi really opened up to us. This may be healing for him , to face his pain and trauma.. and for us, who are also going through the same thoughts... What really pained me about this song and MV, is finally knowing how he held all of this in. Not just while in pre debut, but through out his career. This are not really things you can just talk about in the open, not especially as an Idol who, aside from working hard , are always being hated on for no reason. Holding onto those pain, alone in your mind😭 .. knowing now that he was the one who inflicted that scar in order to cope with all the turmoil he must have been feeling, thus creating AGUST D, the one filled with anger, pain and malice 🥹 he was suffering and yet only tried to give us his best .. How must he have felt, after all his schedule and concerts, going back alone in his hotel room😭.. I'm glad he has his members with him ready to support and help him out. But after seeing this MV, I can never see that scar as anything but pain and proof of Yoongis strength and perseverance 🥹 thank u Yoongi for sharing us urself. you are strong . u deserve all the best . 🥹🥹🥹 #agustd #dday #amygdala
Been anxiously waiting your reaction on this one. Outstanding. August D created a masterpiece for us all. He wore his heart on his sleeve. We always talk about members giving us a hug through their music, Yoongi is the one who needs our hug. I knew this would be especially touching for yoy.
John, thank you so much for your insightful responses. This was a tough one. And I knew his story but to see and hear his experience hit deep. I really hope he is feeling better having let it out. It’s amazing that he continued with his training and tours while going through such challenging situations. But those guys are tight and really do take care of each other. Amazing group of people BTS, so glad they are in our lives. 💜
Amygdala is such a masterpiece, but to be honest, this still leaves a lump in my throat no matter how many times I listen and watch it. I am just so thankful to him and the whole bangtan for sharing their music and stories to us. They make me face my fears.
This video made me cry …to see any of the members struggle is very hard …when you fall into this rabbit hole you get as close to the boys as you can without ever meeting them but you feel like you have as much as they put themselves out there you develop a deep a caring love for these guys who have helped so many through their music and messages …these boys deserve all the happiness they can take….forever Army💜💜💜💜💜💜
you need to watch both live performances of haegeum and dewitha the instruments are insane. it´s a total rock song but also alien like idk how to describe it. maybe because i haven´t heard songs like that before with the mix of instruments
Everyone should give credit to Suga for having the courage to speak up! That takes a lot of strength! Especially since we all know that the trolls are going to attack him, because in this industry the moral fall is complete! For that, let all the bloggers show some respect and stop pretending that they don't understand that he is talking about suicide!
I've written this somewhere else but it really doesn't matter. THE AMYGDALA is a part in the brain that its primary role is in the formation and storage of memories associated with emotional events. its role is processing of memories, decision making, and emotional responses (like anxiety, fear, and aggression). He is calling to himself, to save him. It's So Powerful. He is calling out to those hard times in his life that shaped him, but also bring out the worst in him. I'M JUST SPEECHLESS. People face things in life that sometimes are embedded so harshly inside of us, that it changes our whole life, puts us in really deep, and sad places, that you want to rip out of you, or re-live them (as he is showing in the MV), but you can't. It reminds me of the movie "Inside Out", where you have all of these emotions in your head trying to take control, thinking you should be happy all the time, but in the end you understand you have to have all of them, not only the happy parts in your life, that all of our emotions live together, you can't have one without the other. AMAZIN SONG. BEAUTIFUL. SMART.
This song connect to me on a emotional level cause even though I go through different kind of pain like he was but still it's relatable. These songs by him like The Last, First Love, Dear My Friend and Amygdala is something that I can connect with.
Hi John. Thank you for this reaction. In his documentary Suga:Road to D-Day, Suga performs this song with a band, no effects, and his voice sounds amazing. He’s been a taking vocal lessons and it’s paid off. He sings other songs in it too and they all sound great. I can’t wait to see/hear him in person 💜
he's shared a bit more about his journey to heal the scar represented in his videos in Suchwita with RM and his live last night extremely proud of you, Yoongi ❤
When people ask me who i look up to especially at college, I always say Suga.I always say that he is a me that chose another director because of how similar and how different we are.I hope we appreciate him more and more for being who he is and he makes.❤❤❤❤I loved this song even though i could not breath through the rest of the whole song 😂😂.
My respect and admiration to Yoongi as an artist for putting this all out there and how raw he is with his lyrics, and his own words "I've said everything I've wanted to say". 👏💜🙏 Are we all going to be ok listening to this at the concert? 😔 One thing I'd also like to add is, although he didn't really touch on it too much in Amygdala - other than the lyric about all the things that he didn't ask for - but to compound it further what he already covered in "Dear My Friend". All that stuff was also swirling around the same time: his one true friend from his Daegu days breaking the law and going to jail, he would take the 3 hour journey himself on weekends to visit him at the detention center (when he was also a trainee, writing songs, and had the delivery job), he was there the day that guy was released from jail, then he watched that person become a monster...betrayal, blame and loss. In Amygdala we can feel all of his grief, and the maturity he has now to reflect on all of it, and hopefully find some level of peace and closure, even though the memories will always stay.
7:54 it actually makes me amazed that he was able to achieve so much after what he went through. And as we know his past wasn’t the easiest either so it makes me very proud of him. ❤
Thanks for this reaction, John. What a blessing that Yoongi has his music through which he can process the traumas in his life and come out stronger and filled with hope. His experiences have given him his practical wisdom and that's why Yoongi's words always have that gravitas, especially when he shares that wisdom with the other members and the new generations of idols that follow in their footsteps. I wish him all the best for his tour and may he have a happy and fulfilling time with ARMYs everywhere. Enjoy Chicago!
I cried again. I came back from DDay concert with a really bad case of PCD. I had only been listening to this song via Spotify, I haven't watched it's MV, never found out the meaning of the lyrics. And to look back and realise he was baring his all on the stage... His strength and perseverance.. he deserves all the good things in life and more. I hope to have some of his strength rn as I'm going through some shit of my own. 💜
Let's hope he still gonna keep agust d, now that he's not in anger and frustrated like he was before, which is why he created him to say the things suga couldn't, he might merge them or he doesn't need him he got suga and pd suga. I think he should keep him Agusta d can still say alot even when he's calm.
I was speechless as well after watching this video. Seeing the accident, his body twitching to the memory in his dream, hearing about his mother, his father and all through that him pretending to be happy while on the inside dealing with all of these. Glad he finally got his shoulder fixed and that he had his brothers to help him through all of this.
This song/video is simply BEAUTIFUL I really like his voice and the auto tune effect, I need to watch it a few more times because I haven’t been able to read the whole lyrics 😭 I’m loving the album, I’m truly thankful to be able to listen to his “memories,” even the ones he wants to forget 💔💜
I read earlier that the mention of the lotus is so symbolic, that the lotus blooms from under ground, up and out of all the dirt, something beautiful out of the ugly
I love your reactions and that you understand what suga has been through... Because there are other reacters that just think this is just a song song made but they don't understand it's meaning and see it's suga real life story.... 😢I love suga you right even though he smile nobody knows what he went through.... 😢❤.... you are right John.. this MV is hard to watch, just because of its message and the lyrics makes me cry so much.. It hits me emotionally.. I can feel it because I was diagnose few years back and still receiving treatment for my depression and anxiety..
So thankful that he's willing and able to share his story, full of Raw emotions. Love the whole album. Pfft, That thing called life, It ain't easy. Have good day John and Army
Since the first time I listened to this song until now, I always get chills starting from the intro. Understanding the lyrics, hit deeper in my heart. When I watched the MV for the first time, I cried because I can relate his life experience with mine. He's been through a lot of painful experiences, so have we. He can overcome the pain, so can we. Thanks to Yoongi so much for sharing his raw feeling to us.

It's hard to watch but he just bloomed just like that lotus flower did❤
As he say on his live today he is moving forward with his life after making peace with himself 😌
The past is the past but we don't won't this past to control us we need to take lessons from it to make our today's and tomorrow's much better and stronger version of ourselves 😊
this kills me inside everytime. just heartbreakingly beautiful.
Yoongi really opened up to us. This may be
healing for him , to face his pain and trauma.. and for us, who are also going through the same thoughts...
But after seeing this MV, I can never see that scar as anything but pain and proof of Yoongis strength and perseverance 🥹
thank u Yoongi for sharing us urself. you are strong . u deserve all the best .
I love your sincere reaction. ❤
Thanks John. I think we are all truly blessed to have Min Yoongi, Suga and Agust D in our lives.💜
I always cry watching this video
This video made me cry …to see any of the members struggle is very hard …when you fall into this rabbit hole you get as close to the boys as you can without ever meeting them but you feel like you have as much as they put themselves out there you develop a deep a caring love for these guys who have helped so many through their music and messages …these boys deserve all the happiness they can take….forever Army💜💜💜💜💜💜
you need to watch both live performances of haegeum and dewitha the instruments are insane. it´s a total rock song but also alien like idk how to describe it. maybe because i haven´t heard songs like that before with the mix of instruments
John it goes very very deep into his emotional state though the years
This song is what he wants to say to the newbies in k-music industry. So beautiful!
I can’t wait to see/hear him in person 💜
he's shared a bit more about his journey to heal the scar represented in his videos in Suchwita with RM and his live last night
extremely proud of you, Yoongi ❤
Thanks a lot for your honest reaction
Borahae ❤
When people ask me who i look up to especially at college, I always say Suga.I always say that he is a me that chose another director because of how similar and how different we are.I hope we appreciate him more and more for being who he is and he makes.❤❤❤❤I loved this song even though i could not breath through the rest of the whole song 😂😂.
Thank you for your support 💜💜💜
just one word about yoongi: genius 📢
I cry every single time I listen/watch the MV. it’s just so heartbreaking 💔
7:54 it actually makes me amazed that he was able to achieve so much after what he went through. And as we know his past wasn’t the easiest either so it makes me very proud of him. ❤
The video is perfection 🔥
Real as real can get... so a deep person/artist/storyteller....
We all cried for this MV. Thank you for this reaction 💜💜💜
😢❤.... You also awesome john❤🎉
This video is amazing . ❤
Thank u for your reaction
He explain some of this mv in behind the scene also 💜
Thank you 💜
Thank you for this heart felt reaction, John!
I’m completely moved by this album and I love suga so much!! His soul shows itself in his music im just so proud of him💜💜💜💜🥺
crying
you are right John.. this MV is hard to watch, just because of its message and the lyrics makes me cry so much.. It hits me emotionally.. I can feel it because I was diagnose few years back and still receiving treatment for my depression and anxiety..
This is really deep and painful and so beautiful 💜
So thankful that he's willing and able to share his story, full of Raw emotions. Love the whole album. Pfft, That thing called life, It ain't easy. Have good day John and Army
Here it is, August 2024, and I'm terrified for him.
Hello, John!
Once again, I'm mesmerized by Suga's inconmensurable talent and dedication!
Amygdala is a mind-blowing story song! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I hope you see his full mixtape his first second and third it goes through so many details of his life.....
Yes most of all is "The Last"
❤Sugar e' favoloso❤
This was/is so hard for me to watch. I've cried each time.😿This song and MV are so beautiful though, I'm grateful that he shared this with everyone, and I'm glad it seems like he's doing better now.💜
