- Today is the first day of my annual wrench-a-thon and I've spent it getting the adapter plate fitted to the engine, getting the flywheel installed, and attempting to finish the clutch and pressure plate

I like the flywheel wrench trick for when working solo!
Awesome vids man keep em commin!
Happy birthday man.
Got the saaaaaaame exact set up going on with my z32. Down to the same clutch man haha just added an upgrade clutch fork because mine snapped from how strong the clutch is. I love this car, she’s such a breeze to drive. AND I daily her
Good stuff! Enjoy!
Like the tool to hold the flywheel to torque
what power steering lines did you go with? did you order a fitting for the return line?
Hey man quick question. What headers you running? I have long tube Cxracing headers and doing this trans. Wondering about starter being in the way
I believe I'm going to pull the 4l80e out of my 240SX and swap one of these in to go behind the six oh
Go for it! Everything's been mostly straight forward so far. Either the LOJ or G-Force adapter works perfectly.
Glad I found this video. I'm running the same trans adapter kit. How do you like drifting with the z32 5 speed?
3rd gear was perfect for most tracks
Excellent my car is getting a 4.8 with holley terminator x fuel system. My local events are drift nirvana and swing set events.
Does the GM ECM need to "communicate" with the Z32 5-speed in order to work properly? I'm talking the reluctor wheel within the LS engine to the transmission.
My understanding is the ECM would like to see a speed signal from the transmission, but does not require it. Without the speed signal the engine may bog a little when you're coming to a stop.
Thks for the video how much for kit thks
Hey bud do everybody a favor and put a parts number parts list of everything that you used. That would make this video series 100% epic thank you!!
Mainly because I want to LS swap my 300z yes it's a NA turd with a manual .
Just for using the Z32 trans or the whole swap?
@@BennyObscene just for the trans would be great . But I'm sure the rest of your subscribers would love a complete parts list . I also think you can monetize a part of your build like Kalvin Mali does with his 2jz 300zx . Look him up he has links to everything he bought on Amazon right through his video series. Good luck and I hope you get enough subs and views to pay for the whole thing !!!!
How are you liking the z32 trans with the ls? Looking at picking one up for my drift 240 ls project
Made for a great 3rd gear drift. Depending on the course layout I'd have to launch in 2nd sometimes. Would not recommend for highway driving though as 5th would be way too short.
can you post a links to all the parts u used to adapt the z32 trans to LS engines thanks man

Which transmission mount did you use?
I used the mount from LOJ and the adapter plate from G Force
What drive shaft are you running?
LOJ
does the ls starter fit with the bell housing for zx300 transmission??.what did you do??
Nope, you have to use a 300zx starter. That’s what causes many headers to not fit.
@@BennyObscene thank you bro
Did you use the stock 240 clutch master and slave cylinder? Or the z32 stuff
240 clutch master with ISR clutch line to z32 clutch slave.
@@BennyObscene you the man. Hopefully i can use my stock rx7 master, new hose, and z32 slave. Seems to be similar throw amd same size cylinder diameter, soooo it should work lol. Thanks again man
@@wrenchtwistin3506 good luck!
Did you get gm flywheel bolts then 300zx pressure plate bolts?
Exactly. The ARP part numbers are 330-2802 for the flywheel bolts and 102-2201 for the pressure plate bolts.
Benny Obscene does your adapter plate sit flush ? Mine is hitting bolts to the rear cover
Ok, so go to 4:06 of this video for a visual. The adapter plate comes with 4 small round head bolts that replace the 4 top bolts on the rear cover. Once you swap those out, the plate will sit flush against the engine.
is the flywheel the same as the stock NA one?
no it's a special made flywheel that's part of the adapter kit
So do they not make adapter kits for the twin turbo gearbox?
My understanding is that the bell housing of the TT gearbox is too big
Benny Obscene ahh man that sucks... Thanks for the reply.
Just need to get the bell housing machined. If you want the TT Bell housing
How did that clutch hold up?
So far so good. Clutch kicks are no problem. Would be comfortable for street driving too.
What clutch kit did you use
1:57 get one for a Z32
Have links to the parts needed?
the links are scattered throughout the comments here, but you're right I should pop them all into the description
What clutch is that?
Competition Clutch - Stage 2 - Steelback Brass Plus - Nissan 300ZX 3.0L Non-Turbo (From 2/89) 1990-1996
Did you buy 300zx pressure plate bolt or gym?
Gm
GM flywheel bolts / 300zx pressure plate bolts. The ARP part numbers are 330-2802 for the flywheel bolts and 102-2201 for the pressure plate bolts
Benny Obscene the bolt is for an rb cause that’s what came up when I search the pressure plate part number
@@randynguyen8470 same size and thread pitch
How much did you pay for that transmission
I think it was $300
What oil pan?
Canton
Do you have somewhere I can contact you?
@bennyobscene on instagram
Have you had problems with the 300zx starter ?
Nope
I looked at ebay and damn transmission is as much as a 350z trans wth
Do I spy a Birch Beer?
xStayTruex
When it comes ordering a clutch kit... Did you order a kit for the z32 trans or LS? I'm doing the same build I just want to make sure I get the right kit! Names Darian if possible hit me back on my IG page Preach_automotive thank you
Clutch and pressure plate are for a Z32. The flywheel comes with the adapter kit.
@@BennyObscene I appreciate you getting back to me boss, just making sure I was looking at the right stuff. I'm dying to get this build going so I can feel the raw power of the LS motor. Everyone told me to get one... Now that I did I'm debating going turbo or just N/A with upgraded goodies stage 2 sloppy cam, LS9 head gasket, LS7 lifters and upgraded springs + more
@@Preach_Performance how bad do you wanna drive the thing versus how many more months do you want to spend turning wrenches
@@BennyObscene I want to finish it up badly so I can enjoy it all. However it'll be a while because my wife is pregnant with twins and getting the house ready and also getting our 2yr. Old son to ready to be a big brother. So this build will take a bit but it's worth it. If I lived near you I'd love to get ride in your LS-coupe
You would probably want to go with a Q45 diff (3.54:1) with those short Z32 gears.
