    Honestly I think of the Jedi when I talk about this subclass

  • @xiongray

    I'd play it as a Hobgoblin, controlling battlefield positions by Helping allies, pushing foes down or back 10-ft or moving allies around, or providing Telekinetic Shields. The range is well within your Fortune of the Many, which can help Telekisis later on with the ability checks.
    While you could be bolstering your INT, it's very possible for Feat Combinations like Actor & Telepathic to naturally crop up because Psi Warrior is combat oriented. Ritual Caster (Wizard) & their Unseen Servants can be flavored as the extension of your Psi powers, as do Tenser's Floating Disk as just a raw physical psychic force. The Rituals can easily be your Psi powers enhanced with manuscripts or written mantras.
    If not the Hobgoblin, the High Elf & their Fey Teleportation feat that recharges Misty Step on a Short Rest because at the same time, you'll also recharge a single Psionic Energy die. That and there's an INT-based Wizard Cantrip available. A lot of them could be reflavored to psionic powers but there's also, Mind Sliver and Friends; I like Mending to magically fix objects as if they were puzzles like rubix cubes.

      Stay the hobgoblin please! I love the hobgoblin!. You are right with broadening your abilities with non combat feats. Thats a pretty cool idea. You do get plenty of combat from the fighter.

    Thank you. I have a low-level half-orc with an 18 INT and I'm considering this subclass. I like the paradox of playing a hulking brute who is actually the smartest guy in the room. One minor quibble, however. I believe Bulwark of Force only lasts for one minute, so your suggestion to cast it at the beginning of every adventuring day ( 10:10 ) isn't really applicable. Perhaps you meant to say at the beginning of every combat? At any rate, the advice about bonus action economy and uses for Telekinetic Master was also helpful. Thanks again.

      You are correct I read it also but I must of slipped. Thanks for the correction.
      Half orc is a great species. They are meant to be this smarter being. You throw some hybrid vigor in that and it makes a lot of sense for a psi warrior or any other psionic. Mainly because it’s almost like a mental flex of a muscle in my mind. Once you figure it out you should be able to use it.

    I have a player playing an aasimar psi warrior in Descent into Avernus. He got lycanthropy not long after getting to Avernus and now he is also a weretiger. He mainly uses the psionic strikes for dealing damage and bypassing the devil’s resistances and the protective field is great for reducing damage.

    • @TheSinisterheroes
      @TheSinisterheroes  28 дней назад

      Weretiger?! I feel like your games get crazy.

      @@TheSinisterheroes Oh yeah! That was a fun encounter. I have him roll a wisdom save at the start of each of his turns in combat. If he fails he must attack the closest person to him. Most of the time it’s an enemy but sometimes it’s the dragonborn barbarian party member.

    • @TheSinisterheroes
      @TheSinisterheroes  28 дней назад

      I think one of my party members is going to suffer the effects of lycanthropy. They keep putting them selves in that situation.

    I’m playing in a spelljammer campaign in AL, and our fighter is an astral elf/psi warrior.
    I’m impressed at how well it plays at the table. The shield power, and the strike power have come in very handy.

    • @TheSinisterheroes
      @TheSinisterheroes  27 дней назад +1

      The psi warrior is pretty great in all honesty.
      How are you enjoying spell jammer and all the insanity of space?

      @@TheSinisterheroes it’s pretty cool so far. I know a lot of people complained about it having odd game mechanics and other things, but I like it.
      We pulled off a boarding party raid by inverting our ship as we pulled up parallel to another ship, and using the inverted gravity plane like a giant slide. We go up off of our deck, hit the bottom of their gravity plane.
      Boom! A big U style slide.
      It’s not much different than a water based campaign to me.
      Still, DnD in space, what’s not to love about that?

    This would honestly be my second favorite subclass after fighter Battlemaster. One of the things that I like about it is the potential reflavoring, for instance maybe instead of psionics you are literally a different form of warlock or perhaps you're a another type of Eldritch Knight except you're using magic differently.
    Edit: another way you could reflavor this as maybe some kind of sisters of battle thing from Warhammer 40K where you're reflavoring the abilities are miracles of faith
    For The Algorithm!

      I don’t know anything about warhammer 40k who are these sisters of battle sounds like I’d like them

      @@TheSinisterheroes They are an all-female 40k army made up of zealous, power-armored battle nuns and are essentially the Ecclesiarchy's workaround of not allowing men in the Ecclesiarchy to bear arms. Interesting enough due to how the warp works along with their Faith they can actually manifest different miracles into reality on occasion. Such as a Sister of battle being able to Parry the blow of a greater demon that would have sundered an ordinary or Superhuman in two.

      @@TheSinisterheroes so level 7, is where this class wakes up, I would feel picking this subclass is best starting at 3, 5, or 7. Starting at 1 felt really slow.
