Here I have a few different pages. i attempted to draw the same thing multiple times to see which would be the best. now I'll take the best one from this video and make it even better.

No no no it definitely looks like floating steampunk cities with jet boosters out the end, I can't unsee it. They also sorta look like the Howls Moving Castle, super duper cool drawings regardless!

Totally agree on the black backgrounds. Masking off some of the page could make a big difference! Or grab a second color for some depth! Love it though! I wish I could draw like this.

This blend of abstraction and recognizable form reminds me a lot of Dan Slavinsky's "A series of Drawings from the End of Time Bartlett". Very pleasing blend of lines and points!
