Truth ...90's in Maryland...I graduated high school in '94. There was no race talk.. if the black/white dude was big you didnt mess with them. We all hung out and played basketball everyday after school. We didn't focus on race even though we knew our parents were racist. As I grew up I see different cultural differences but I moved into a lower income mixed neighborhood and it was the best hang out time of my life. That was on time. I grew up in a very small town in South Carolina. Black/White ratio was about 50/50. Every racist joke that I know I got from one of my black friends. Down here folks is folks. To be fair, I can see why people might think there is systemic racism because a disproportionate number of people in poverty are black. It’s a much more complicated and layered issue than skin color. That’s just an easy explanation and opts you out of any critical thinking or research.
@@Exbozz well tbf.. the majority of upper/middle class people are white, not black. and there is so much racism in impoverished communities. you dont know how many times i've heard my poor white friends say the n word or point out some random black-related statistic to prove some racist point. i believe both sides have their racist beliefs and before we can address class we must realize we shouldnt be divided. to do that we gotta destroy racism, one step at a time, starting with hugging your brothers and sisters and ending police brutality.

And yes racism exists in all cultural groups. My boomer neighbor for example throws the n-word around like it's no big deal and it makes me cringe.
