Fun facts: Jack Huston is the nephew of American actress Angelica Huston (Angelica is Jack's father's sister) but his mother is English and I think he was born and raised in Norfolk. Stephen Graham is from Liverpool and the actor who plays Meyer Lansky (Anatol Yusef) is also English. Stephen Graham also had a supporting role in Gangs Of New York, The Irishman and Band Of Brothers, and another English actor (Damian Lewis) played the lead in Band Of Brothers and Homeland, Then of course Dominic West played Jimmy Mcnulty and Idris Elba played Stringer Bell in The Wire, Damson Idris played the lead character Franklin in Snowfall and Daniel Kaluuya played Fred Hampton in Judas And The Black Messiah as well as the lead in Get Out-Most Hollywood leads (or at least many of them) seem to be English and it's great to see!👍🏽🏴

All due respect to Angelica, but surely the connection is that Jack is the grandson of legendary director John Huston, and great-grandson of legendary actor Walter Huston (a quick view of The Treasure of the Sierra Madre will educate on who they are). And as far as The Wire, Idris's accent was middling (you'll notice he seems to thing mumbly is 'street', but when he starts hanging out with the developers, his own voice is more posh), but Dominic West and the guy playing Carcetti were *dreadful* trying to play Baltimore.
i think the Irish angle may grow on ya, gotta remember there are more Irish people in the states than Ireland, and they were the biggest supporters of the revolution outside of Ireland itself, big part of history that can't be ignored
