I made these for my co-workers and they were a big hit. The best compliment I got was that it was as if they came from a specialty bakery. Definitely will be making them again!
Brit here, thanks for doing the ingredients so brits will understand . There not a thing topically in the uk but becoming more known hence why I’m here.
How much more happiness can you possibly bring to us?? John, you and your personality (forget the recipes for now...) are nothing short of "ah-ma-zing" . Sure I come here for the recipes, but I come mainly to see that smile and personality. It lightens my day as it does others. THANK YOU and wishing you a wonderful holiday all the way from Van Nuys.
Made these last week and did a double batch today!! So yummy!!! I slightly wet my fingers when I do the marshmallows cause they stick to you like honey and then let them sit for a few to dry. These are so delicious and easy. Bread pudding and puppy chow are next! The peanut butter bars where also AMAZING!!
I’ve thought about this as well! As a child I baked so many cakes, would have about 5 made on the counter & would have to debate if I should really bake another lol. Now I have kids & have a blast making them fancy birthday cakes. Afraid if I start a cake business it will become too overwhelming. Curious to hear how yours is going!!

Thank God for grandchildren or I'd be as big as a house. No matter what you bake, I feel compelled to whip up a batch (or a cake or a pie) and this one is no exception. Looks delicious.
Marshmallows aren’t really popular in my country (Southern Europe) and I dreamt of trying them because of the American movies I saw, so when they finally arrived here I bought tons. No regrets. Great work as always John!
OMG I tried this cookie and let me just say... THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING COOKIE EVERRR!!! OMG! I would recommend tripling the recipe bc I made the exact recipe and my family gobbled it up in literally 10 minutes! It's gooey, It's chewy, it's chocolatey, it's PERFECT! Thank you sooooooo much Preppy Kitchen for helping me make the BEST COOKIES EVERRR!!! I would 10000000/10 recommend this recipe!!!!!!!
Omg your recipe came out at the perfect time! I've been craving s'mores for a week! As you said, they are typically American because no one does this in Belgium. Please keep sharing more amazing recipes 😍 I love your energy and how easy you make baking look like!
Hello!! I'm writing from Costa Rica and here we don't have gram crackers we use a kind of sugar/butter cookie name Marie Cookie or "Galleta Maria" in spanish. Thats what we use for s´mores, cheesecakes, alone with Nutella and if you're very creative you can use it for many other desserts.
Yes I LOVE smores and makes them in every shape and form possible!!! Just made a smored baked alaska yesterday and now i’m craving smores cookies!! 😋😋😋 Nothing more delicious than goey marshmallows, melted chocolate and biscuits ❤️❤️❤️
when I was 6 and you're my dad cooked and I watched him cook he left when I was 6 I watch you because miss seeing people cook and you make my day thanks
I’m from the U.K. and I love that you give both measurements! It’s so helpful, I used your no spread sugar cookies the other day for my daughters birthday, they are the best recipe I’ve ever tried.
Graham crackers are also a thing here in the Philippines especially during birthdays, fiestas, and holidays. What we do is we layer grahams, whipped cream, condensed milk, and fresh fruit. We call them refrigerated cake (ref cake). They are so good. You should try it.
I’m from South Africa and love your recipes. Sadly we don’t have Hershey’s chocolate unless it’s in an import shop. Our baking staple is Marie biscuits which I’m guessing is similar to the US Graham crackers. Alternatively we use Tennis biscuits which has coconut. With our “braai” (bbq) culture, many a marshmallow (or xl marshmallows )has been roasted over open fires and plopped onto a Marie biscuit, which is our version of a S’more, but more than often they don’t make it to the biscuit... Thank you for all the baking inspiration! 🇿🇦
Hershey’s chocolate is not special. They rarely sell it in my country too, so I saw it once and was very excited to buy it. But it was a letdown, it was not any different from the normal chocolate you can buy anywhere locally.
I'm from Monterrey, México, its not very traditional to make smores but I think most people know about it. There's a cookie named "galletas Maria" that replace Graham crackers into the recipes, mostly in the cheesecake ones, but I think there are others that taste more alike graham crackers. I love this recipe :)
yum!! so excited to make this since our yearly camping 🏕 tradition got cancelled cuz of miss rona :) thanks so much for this recipe and your contagious happiness!!
In the U.K. s’mores are getting more popular I think from the US but we don’t have graham crackers or Hershey’s unless it is imported. I love up your recipes and love the idea especially of s’mores. We do make toasted marshmallows especially on a camp fire .🔥
I made your recipe making Zucchini Bread! It came out so good! Everyone I gave a piece really loved it! Will give these s’mores cookies a try soon! Thank you, your a good cooking teacher! 🙏🏻🍪
Hi John, I had to google what this s'more stands for: some more. Neither heard of it nor tasted it when visiting the US/Canada. 😊 In Germany 🇩🇪 we don't have them. Have actually no idea how this tastes. And Graham Crackers might be difficult to buy over here. But still nice 👍 videos as all of yours. Best regards Stefanie
You could still make these cookies .. just leave out the graham cracker ingredient .. They would probably still taste good... If you can't find graham crackers and still want to add that type of element.. any type of lightly crispy, mild flavored cookie would probably work in place of the graham crackers. Hope this helps.. : ]
Smores are a staple when family camping. The idea is to get the marshmallow melted on a stick first, then remove it off the stick with two Graham cookies with a piece of Hershey chocolate in the middle to create a S'more.
I'm an Aussie and as far as I know S'mores are just an American thing. I've heard of them on television shows for decades. We don't have Graham crackers, but according to Google, our closest equivalent is Granita.
Thank you for this recipe!! I bought s'more ingredients and we decided to move the firepit so, no smores! But WAIT! We CAN have s'mores cookies, even better! MY mom sent me this recipe anf my kids are so excited we made them today. Thanks for the fun!😁
I want one.....with a cold glass of milk:) I grew up with smores and so this brings me back. Thank you for sharing with me.🥰They're next on my baking cookies list.

I can't wait to try these. The way you explain each step with the bits of humor, priceless! One question for you...when you take the cookies out of the oven, do you immediately move them to a cooling rack, or do you leave them on the tray? You mention that the inside still needs to set after you remove it from the oven. I imagine it's quite important to know whether you move to a cooling rack or leave on the tray, as the temperature will be very different. Thanks!

In New Zealand we don't have graham crackers because crazy Mr. Kellogg was American. For my S'mores, I use chocolate dipped 'digestive' biscuits! The chocolate actually melts!
John! you've inspired me to whip out the stand up mixer for these! think my daughter and i will make a gluten free version Sunday before school starts Monday! we love watching your farm videos! muncho amor de Tejas !

Making your cookies & cream cookies for the second time tonight (finishing a pack of Oreos), then I’m going to try this! Looks soooo good. Love your recipes.
i am definitely going to try this i love smores THANK YOU JOHN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love your recipes mostly your chocolate cake i tried it and they were almost gone the next day
To answer your question about "are s'mores universal"? I don't think so. Several years ago our whole family my siblings, their spouses, nieces, and nephew all went to Italy to see all of our family there. We've been there many times over the years in, but never all of use at the same time. For the final night with cousins who live in Tuscany and again when we saw the rest of the family who are in Abbruzzi we brought the makings for s'mores. They were a BIG hit. I think my uncle's reaction was the best. Such a smile on his face was amazing. Thanks for triggering such wonderful memories.
Wow you read my mind I was just looking at a bag of mini marshmallows in my pantry wondering what on earth I could use them for !! I can’t wait to make these ☺️
In the U.K. we don't have graham crackers, but we do (sorta) still have s'mores by using two milk chocolate topped digestive biscuits, instead of the crackers and chocolate squares, with a marshmallow sandwiched between them!
After watching this video 4 times, i finally made them. Deeeeelicious! I skipped the extra toppings in fear of it being too much. Next time, i will add them.
Cheers for the great recipe! We’re not too crazy about s’mores in Australia (mostly because it’s next to impossible to find graham crackers) but have definitely heard of them 😊🇦🇺

Do you guys have a recipe for some sweet empanadas?? 😁 Pineapple, Pumpkin, Cajeta either or please please please share with us!! Much love
That looks like a delicious cookie! I can't wait to make them. Do you think you could make a coconut cake video? The one you have isn't really a tutorial like most of your videos. I would appreciate it very much!
I doubt anyone will check/read this and answer, but do you need to let the dough sit out for a bit first before baking if it’s been refrigerated overnight? I ask this because it says to only chill for an hour after making the dough, and because I literally have no experience baking anything besides box treats
I made these for my co-workers and they were a big hit. The best compliment I got was that it was as if they came from a specialty bakery. Definitely will be making them again!

Is this the new kitchen? It’s amazing!!!!!
That looks like a delicious cookie! I can't wait to make them. Do you think you could make a coconut cake video? The one you have isn't really a tutorial like most of your videos. I would appreciate it very much!
My favorite cookie 🍪 mixed with my favorite camp fire snack 😯🤤 I cannot wait to try these
Made them and it’s easy and they’re good.
Delicious cookies
I doubt anyone will check/read this and answer, but do you need to let the dough sit out for a bit first before baking if it’s been refrigerated overnight? I ask this because it says to only chill for an hour after making the dough, and because I literally have no experience baking anything besides box treats
no need to let it sit
Just made the cookies with my sis and they were ✨amazing✨
