Hi! I'm twelve years old and I love your recipes! I made your eclairs and apple crumble pie and my family loved them!💕 Edit: I also think that you are really great at explaining the steps! 💖
As a muslim its been a struggle for years seeing smores, rice krispy, and so many desserts with marshmallows but now thanks to you i can learn to make my own using beef or fish gelatin because most american brands use pork, which i cannot use
I have made these for many years. I got my recipe from the Farm Journal Homemade Candy cookbook. The only difference is that my recipe does not have the light corn syrup. After cutting mine, I roll them in toasted coconut. OH MY. What a treat these are. And the freshest marshmallows on the planet. I hope everyone tries them. Thanks for sharing!
@@quetywilson3587the corn syrup just helps prevent crystallization when heating the sugar. You can replace it with the equivalent amount of cane sugar plus 1/4th cup extra water than the recipe calls for.
Love it! At Christmas one year, I put candy canes in my food processor and pulsed them until they were powdery. Then I added them to the powdered sugar. It gave the marshmallows, a light pink cast. And boy were they good!
@@ireneblizzard I use three egg whites, a teaspoon of lemon juice, a teaspoon of vanilla essence and about 500g of icing sugar (I think US calls it confectioner’s sugar?). I use a balloon whisk attachment on my mixer to whisk the egg whites and lemon juice until thick and frothy, pour in the icing sugar and fold in a few times so the powder doesn’t go everywhere and whisk on high until thick, white and glossy then mix in the vanilla at the end. This makes quite a large amount but freezes well x

Wish I would have used my Rice Krispies for part of it, now... might have to melt them back down lol. Can’t wait until these set. Thanks for an easy to follow recipe!

For anyone looking for a review, here’s mine!: First, I just wanna start off with.. these were AMAZING! Recently, I’ve been having problems with recipes like with pretzels, and churros, and I was feeling kind a of down I decided that if this didn’t turn out good I just had a problem with baking. So, I went to Walmart and bought all the ingredients and then few days later after school, I started making these marshmallows. It was so simple and fun! The gelatin bloomed really well, and the trick with the cold water worked! When it was time to mix, I rotated between my sister and I. Overall I’d say it took 15 minutes for the first part of the mixing (no vanilla or salt) and abt 5-10 more with the vanilla and salt. I was a little anxious so I probably mixed it overtime, anyway when it was done I taste tested it and I COULD NOT stop eating it! It was so fluffy and delicious, I had to force myself to wait. Finally, when setting it, it looked no where near as perfect as John’s but that’s to expect bcuz I’m a beginner lol In conclusion, if you wanna try this recipe or any other recipe check out this channel! John is positive and funny and makes it easy to follow recipes! This marshmallow recipe was a total success, and can’t wait to try another! :D

Look into vegan marshmallows
Look into using natural marshmallow root which is what was used in original marshmallow. Gelatin is used today instead of actual marshmallow root.
