  • The Even Moss Stitch is a beautiful crochet stitch. It features a solid fabric with a subtle texture that is the same on both sides.
    A free written tutorial for this pattern can be found here: richtexturescrochet.com/even-...
    In the video I am using the Caron x Pantone Yarn by Yarnspirations. You can buy it using my affiliate link here: www.anrdoezrs.net/click-92161...

    The first things I think of are a throw pillow cover, because so many crocheted cover patterns have holes and you can see the pillow form through them. I also think of a blanket, or more like a thick bedspread to be exact. Also hand towels, face cloths or body cloths. The texture would make a good exfoliating body cloth if done in cotton.

      I used to second guess myself, too, ML, however, its important we trust our instincts, too, especially in an ever changing world where - eventually - people will run out of fundamental patterns and begin changing them - the trick is to ensure that, during the changing process, the names are held to a standard in association with the pattern.

    • @kimberlymatthews7137
      @kimberlymatthews7137 3 года назад +1

      No. She slips and HDCs in the whole stitch, not just the back loop only. If you'll notice you'll see two threads on the top when she goes in, that indicates that she goes through the whole stitch and not just the front or back loop only. I hope you see that. However, on a design point of view--try it with BLO (back loop only) and see how you like that. Nothing's concrete, set in stone. If going in that BLO makes you happy go for it. It will leave a "ridge" on your work that you might like! ;o)

    • @pm2219
      @pm2219 3 года назад

      It’s in both loops. It’s the hdc stitches from row 1~ hdc are notorious for tilting and that’s why they are often missed.

    I've seen so many different versions of this stitch, and I like this one the best. BUT, I would have liked to have seen at least the end of that last row, to see what stitch it ended on and the start of a new row. I think every tutorial should have a minimum of 4 rows, especially for beginning crocheters. Hopefully I'll get it right...but I think I might have missed a stitch at the end of that last row.

    Doesn't look like a moss stitch? The pattern is more like the Linen Stitch or Granite Stitch.

    • @RichTexturesCrochet
      @RichTexturesCrochet  Год назад

      Not rude at all! The Even moss stitch is worked using hdc and slip stitches. The stitches are worked directly on top of one another. With the Moss/Linen stitch it is worked using single crochet and chain stitches. The single crochet stitches are staggered and worked in the chain one spaces. As a result the even moss stitch will be a little more textured and solid

      I like the way you think! I don’t like stitches for blankets that have big holes in them because then my toes get caught in the holes! And you’re right for babies -same thing!

    Im confused, this doesn’t look like a moss stitch. I see that its called ‘even moss stitch’, i figured that would mean ‘equal or similar crochet pattern seen on both sides..’ for that reason I was curious. But this doesn’t resemble a moss stitch. I also don’t see similarities in either, I am quite confused…
    A better term is a crunch stitch. This is NOT a moss stitch.

    This is certainly not a moss stitch. Im from the country where this stitch originated, so perhaps it changed along the way but ultimately this is not a true moss-stitch.
    This is called a CRUNCH STITCH, NOT MOSS STITCH. 😊
    Just letting you know. This way the 32k plus people, currently who’ve viewed this (on this day jan 29th,’23) know this is actually a ‘crunch stitch’
