The subtext is that everyone is so out of touch that they have no idea what's happening at any given time.
That's because they're constantly being misled. As trust in major media platforms declines, we'll see people's perspectives come closer to reality, but generally it's always going to be skewed because our personal perceptions are skewed by our personal reality. You can know there are roughly 330 million people in the US, and then look at 1.5 million trans people and do quick and dirty division in your head and know that's about .5%, and you can guess that 'trans' is probably pretty inclusive of things like people who just use 'xe/xhe' or identify as dragonkin or something, but not really understand that when your interactions online are filled with people with pronouns in their bio screaming about the trans genocide because you won't let them groom your children. It gives everyone a distorted perspective on reality, because most people are not terminally online.
Exactly we designed
Exactly as designed
The subtext (for somewhat educated people) is that Fox tries to construct a problem made by the left that is in fact not a problem.
The actual issue here is that they complain about over-representation, while at the same time completely ignoring that this over-representation is the result of discrimination, hate and oppression. They demand a representaion which is equal to % numbers, but when "the left" asks for factual equality they dont wanna hear about it.
The internet ruined alot of people's perspective of the world

Percentage of Americans who live in New-York City...

As a European, this was my 5 seconds long thought process:
- USA has about 360 million inhabitants
- NYC has about 10 million inhabitants
- 10% of 360 million = 36 million
- 1% of 360 million = 3.6 million
- 2% = 7.2 million, that's to low

By the way, it's not 1% that's trans, that's the supposed number after the extreme inflation of people identifying as such (over 4000% increase) since 2010. The actual number is something like a few per thousand.
I would say the amount of people not identifying as trans because of societal pressure in 2010 is vastly larger than the amount of people for some reason thinking it’s trendy or whatever (which it clearly isn’t) who identify as it now without actually being trans. So, the current number should be way more accurate
@@rubensf7780 Then why have we never seen even remotely similar explosions of numbers of any other identity group who used to be stigmatized or outright illegal in such a short amount of time? And why does it only happen in pockets of the population instead of being population wide?

It is not so bad when you realize those are the outliers. It would be the same for true geniuses and prodigies.
No, no. The quote actually is "Think of how stupid the **average person** is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."
Its not just because people are stupid. It's also because the way they show everything in media like movies, TV, games and so on misrepresent the actual numbers. And people consume this media and think its like this.
And on the internet, you can find and stay in places with people who are similar to you, so your area of the internet could have a higher percentage of whatever group of people than whatever the reality is.
My parents wouldn't believe when I told them the homosexual population barely breaks 2% as they said "it seems like they are everywhere!" That's because there are people who control our media want these people to be ubiquitous in all contexts.
It's only because they are ignorant that they let it influence them so much. Someone who lives rurally and doesn't have a chance to see the rest of the country may not be so stupid, but someone who can travel and see reality and convince themselves that it's his eyes that are lying is definitely stupid.
Can't that be called stupidity when u just can't separate reality from what you're shown on TV? I don't know any American personally, but I understand that this statistic is some sort of mistake... I'm certain they maxed the numbers out for show or it's just a "survivorship bias". There're lots of people from different countries who estimated it much more closer to the real numbers (me as well), so this survey isn't objective for sure or the matter in what I wrote higher
Asmon doesn't seem to understand that the media is an average person's window to the world. In their real life, an average person might have 50 people they interact with on a somewhat regular basis, maybe up to 200 acquaintances. Media shows the world beyond that. If half the issues talked about in the media and people shown are related to black/jewish/LGBT... stuff, it's natural to think they're a large part of society. Meanwhile they're just obnoxiously loud minorities.
This survey is crazy. Do those 1000 people even know how percentages work (or how many states there are in the US)? They estimated that 30% live in NYC, 30% in Texas and 32% in California, meaning only 8% would live in the other 47 states.
Another example is religion. They estimated that 27% are Muslim, 30% are Jewish, 33% are atheists and 58% are Christians, making a total of 148%. It's not even close to 100%. I bet if they were asked how many people were Hindus, Buddhists or Shintoists, they would have added another 30 - 40%.
Survey isn't crazy, Americans are....
It seems like everyone just says around 30% for anything they aren't sure about
There's a lot about the methodology that is unknown. E.g., did all participants finish the survey?
People don’t even know earth is round, you think they know math?
@@zero5496know and believe are two different things. There is a thin line between objective opinion (100 people over 1), subjective opinion (1 over 100) and reality.
Reality = factual knowledge. And you can't possibly get to this point, ever. Why? Because you perceive reality through subjective perceptions and it is heavily influenced by objective opinions.
Subjective opinion is when a person's perception deviates from the collective opinion. Let's say 10 claim there's a table in the center of the room, the eleventh doesn't see it. His perception is subjective in this case, despite the probability he's the only sane (which is quite large when you take only 10 people as an example).
Objective opinion is something people express. Not feel, or see and describe. Express. Back to the example, 11th person might say that there is a table in the center. They all might be lying, but the objective opinion won't change. The last one is US in a nutshell btw. People tell people some information and artificially increase the number of people believing it. A lot of people in the line know it's bs, yet they decided to do it anyway.
There is no factual evidence that the Earth has a round shape. There is however, an objective opinion that the Earth is ellipsoidal which is based on objective evidence, - mainly photographs. There are also people that ignore the evidence, filling so called "insane/irrational" category. Neither are wrong nor correct, because we cannot prove or refute one or the other, the same way christians cannot claim that buddhists are mentally insane. The only real difference between flat/rounded Earth is the number of things we claim support the theory.
It's so clear the majority of people that were surveyed do not understand and cannot picture percentages and portions. I'm not sure they have the mental capacity to comprehend what 333,000,000 people actually is.

Yes. Time series of polls about the share of transsexuals among the population show that the current 1% share is 10 fold of what it had been over many decades. This 10 fold increase over last couple of years is a "social contagion" phenomenon where people claim to be transsexual to make themselves appear important. When such a small portion of the population is responsible for so much crime
Fun fact, if 10% of the US population had an average household income of over $1M then said they would be earning what is equivalent to about 1/3 of the entire US national debt, assuming an average household size of 3. I'm unsure how long the US economy would be able to sustain such an income honestly, but I would guess not for very long.
The US economy isn't the bank of income. If people made more they would get taxed more and the country would theoretically have an easier time paying off said debt. Do you know how money works?

And on top of that , if you have an activist brainwashing teacher in california, i'm sure if she polled her class 20 out of 32 would say they are lgbt just because they want to be special and/or going through a phase.
It seems like you're conflating LGBT+ and gay

I have not seen anybody do this in these comments, so for those who are interested, here it is:
Assuming the 7% LGBT statistic is accurate, the probability of getting a 32-pupil classroom with 20 LGBTs is 0.000000000000075%. That's the binomial of n=32, p=0.07, P(X=20) (given that your calculator can calculate numbers that small). If you understand probability, these kinds of claims immediately become suspicious without having to calculate things. I thought it interesting to give it a number though, just so people can appreciate HOW audacious the claim actually was.
In general, people underestimate the power of large numbers. Here are a bunch of interesting cases:
Say the probability of a person to be racist be 0.1% (for argument's sake). What is the probability to have no racists in a random group of 10 people and what for 10000 people?
For 10 people: 99%
For 10000 people: 0.0045%
This is why large groups have extreme people in them all the time, even though extremists are, by definition, rare. Anecdotal evidence of extremism in large groups is therefore pointless (e.g. "I found this one racist post on Twitter from a guy who is [insert large group here], so therefore they must be racists").
Assuming the probability for a man to be hired over a woman of equal qualification is exactly 50% (i.e. equality hiring). What is the probability for the employees to be on parity (i.e. for the employees to be half/half) when a million people are hired from a (significantly larger sized) pool of 50/50 male/female candidates of equal qualification?
The answer is 0.08%.
That is why on a societal level one has to choose what to champion for a case: equality or parity. Both cannot be done at once. Parity requires some corrective interference in the process depending on previous outcomes which shifts the probability and thus can never be equal. If this seems counter-intuitive, look at it this way: Imagine you want to walk to a point in the distance with your eyes closed. You look at your target, close your eyes, and start walking. Let's say every step you are off by up to an inch to the left or right. If the target is 10 steps away, you will be off by 10 inches. If the target is 1000 steps away, you will be off by about 28 yards. If the target is a million steps away, you will be off by about 16 miles and the likelihood that you actually arrive at your target is practically 0. Do not believe in the gambler's fallacy, that "Lady Luck" is counterbalancing when the numbers start getting off. That's not how probability works, unless there is something influencing the process.
People should learn some mathematics. Whenever you start punching the numbers, results can be enlightening for people.
its a whole lotta yap but a whole lotta facts
Very well stated.
Not saying the guy was telling the truth but considering it a flat percentage across the board is silly. The demographic and age group is probably a higher percentage and people share ideas and convene together if they agree. So it’s more likely to be a large group of them together than 1 person every 11.
Love it 👍
Toss a coin 100 times and you have around an 8% chance of getting 50 of each.
Have a business with 100 employees and don’t have 50 men and 50 women, with the correct mix of skin colour, across all levels, and all with the same average pay…. And you are systematically discriminating, apparently

People are just reflecting what they notice in their everyday lives, and the media doesn't help.
I think you're simple minded if you think where you live represents everywhere.
@@propeldragonIts a good thing to know that where you live isn't representative of the rest of the world, but that doesn't mean its necessarily a bad thing to come up with answers based on what you can see in your surroundings, its basic human nature to do that. We should encourage people to know better, but theres no shame in some guy coming up with false statistics because hes lived in one place all his life and has been given no reason to think the rest of the world is that different.
If someone thinks 40% of the population is black people because they live in Philadelphia then they shouldn’t try to solve problems on a national scale because they are ignorant about national problems. They should solve Philadelphia’s problems. If you can’t find the answer to something don’t worry about it.
I really appreciate the non biased straight to the numbers and facts approach you take. More people need to understand this way of thinking instead of taking an emotional perspective on everything.
On Fox News?? 🤣🤣
@@theunknown308 no I'm talking about how he covered the topic and showcased how the Fox anchor has a bias but still puled value from the conversation and called out how the Fox anchor tried to use these statistics to support his views.
" Registered Hispanic Population"
Exactly
17:23 I make $18/hour. Not even $30K. How the fuck will $2 more skyrocket me up to an extra $70K? $37.4K per year before taxes, ~$31K after taxes.
Full time 40 hour weeks to make $100K is $48/hour.
@@brucenatelee even after taxes?
@@refinedmarrow4869 Probably before taxes tbh
Modern young Western women have completely delusional standards. The ones who are 4/10 in Looks and 2/10 in Money arrogantly reject their looksmatches and feel entitled to only date 9s and 10s making $300k+/year🤦♂
Don't forget you'll go up a tax bracket
The author Terry Goodkind was right: "Wizard's First Rule: people are stupid."
BTW: The books were better than the show.
