Hey everyone! If you liked this video you may also appreciate this video of me explaining why I believe you should consider a used Tesla Model S vs a Model 3. ruclips.net/video/wtVGR28m_N0/видео.htmlsi=xjGAh35XaZNe9jtz
This is good information. This is the kind of information I feel like I’d like to stay if I started a RUclips channel. Thanks for starting a RUclips channel so I didn’t have to. I’m a little timid to put my stuff out there. Good on you though, hope you grow big, good stuff, man!
Really appreciate that - any level of encouragement is helpful.
Use a better route planner and it will make your route the fastest, more stops. Shorter charges, fastest total time
A better route planner than the built in planner in the Tesla?
Thank you for your honest opinion. One thingto point out is that our body breaks will suffice for additional charging need if you happen to be living in the southern states where you can stop at places like Bucees while you are grabbing your coffee your car is already at or above 80% charge.
Yes I stop at bucees on road trips too. Love their bbq sandwiches. Thanks for the comment.
Careful with the aftermarket front trunk solution. There have been SEVERAL folks who were denied warranty claims for all sorts of things because of them. Something to research as you're thinking about them. If you're a 2016, then you still have a bit of factory warranty on the drive unit and battery. Enjoy it, I love my 2014 and fully untend to purchase a newer Model S next year.
Oh man that is great to know. I had no clue it could cause issues with warranty. I had every intent on purchasing one.

One of the he things I don't like when you see windows open but it won't allow you to close from the app.
Thats a good point. I am not sure I was aware of that. I don't typically roll my windows down and instead use the sunroof on my model s. Thanks for adding to the conversation.
Hey hi I purchased a used 2016 model s like a week ago. It had the fixed sunroof and cup holders below the ac vents for passengers in the back seat. I like everything about the car except the range.
Yes - these cars are amazing! Thanks for the feedback!
I don't really understand the return trip complaint, why are you charging to 100% to return? Doesn't really make sense
On long road trips I prefer to start at 100 percent battery so I don’t have to stop as often. Otherwise if I am returning home and start my trip at 20% charge I have to begin my trip with a 20 minute charge. Then have the ability to drive two or 3 hours.
@@DrewsReviews2023 "Otherwise if I am returning home and start my trip at 20% charge I have to begin my trip with a 20 minute charge." so you start it with an hour+ charge instead? Maybe I'm misunderstanding. I can understand wanting to make less stops but in general you save A LOT of time making shorter more frequent stops while pulling into the charger around 5%~
I don't know the charging curve of the 2016 Model S these days because I think Tesla may have nered them a little, what are the peak speeds you see when charging and at what SoC does it typically fall off?
@DC-ju6tc it may be a misunderstanding. On the return trip I don’t stop and charge for 100% unless my hotel is near a supercharger. If near a supercharger the night before my trip I will go and charge to 100% so that I can wake up and start my trip just driving. If no supercharger near me I will begin my trip and drive until down to about 10% and then charge to 80 or until the car tells me to continue my trip. I always follow the nav system. Peak speeds are about 118 - 125 I think
