@@mattpapa03 they claim that as long as you have the retracting mirrors (motorized) or have that button then its actually compatible

Great tutorial, just did this on the weekend. Couldn't have done it without your guidance, much appreciated 🙏. Note for anyone else trying this - I found the tweeter connector very difficult to pull off - its very awkward and a good selection of pry tools definitely helped.

I would have gladly paid for electric folding mirrors if that option was available on the USDM versions.
The OEM is only available for Subaru. But for gr86 owners, we can buy the part from subaru and have it installed.
Folding mirrors are only available for the Premium Trims in US.
But here in Japan, even the RC and Cup Car has them.

Make sure you have that mirror folding button. Mods Society claims that this is not compatible with LHD Base models.

Unless you're willing to spend over a grand for parts and willing to rewire and re-pin plugs so it works on LHD cars 😅.
Now Im wondering how much you need to spend for all that

So expensive just for motorized mirrors lol

Mine is actually a base model. But unfortunately LHD base models don't have a retracting motor in the side mirrors.
Theres a company in Australia that has now integrated windows roll up with the side mirrors folding in.. I have it on order.
Its this same company. They have them too. I have it but getting held back on video edits..
@@39gjapan what we really need is a module to to auto-lock and unlock the doors when the vehicle moves off and when we stop the engine.. its confusing why subaru/toyota didn't do this yet my Mums hyundai and many other late model cars do.

Unfortunately this doesn't work with the USDM version since it doesn't have the motor to do the auto folding.
Unfortunately. But I think the premium has that function right?

I’m not sure. Japan doesn’t offer Sequoia locally. So aftermarket parts should be plenty in the US
Can you also show how to make the door courtesy light works? I have the base model too and bought a projector gr light but when I plugged it in there's no light 😂

Yes only need one. Only the driver side.
Do you also have parts for Subaru forester 2023?

Yeah won’t work on US Spec. Only works for models that already have a button on top of the knob to adjust mirrors
There is no way to currently convert a USDM car to have auto folding mirrors.
So the USDM GR86BRZ doesnt have a function to fold the mirrors manually with a push of a button?
@johhnnn I have a base model and it has a button to manually fold the mirrors with a switch above the mirror adjuster toggle. Check the timeline 02:16

Different part. But im sure there's a specific part for rav4

Has to be the motorized mirrors to work.
Is this for both side mirrors?
Yes. You just install them on the driver side. (But only for those equipped with the closing side mirror button)
