Hi Matt. I am still watching your defensive stick fighting videos. Last August the 22nd I had a heart attack and I have not been able to walk more than a few feet at a time since and I have little energy. As I get better I may be able to train with no partner to be ready to defend myself with a walking stick. I am having some water build up in the sack around my lungs that needs treatment. I am 76 years old. I just wanted to let you know my situation. New Subject: My youngest grandson is a Marine. He repairs the engines of the attack helicopters. I like the short stick training as well the walking stick training. Stay safe. Steve.
Thanks Steve. I am glad you are on the mend and I pray for you a speedy recovery. Semper Fi to your grandson. I was just in San Diego and saw hundreds of those Marine choppers flying back and forth every day. It’s a good job and he will have a green at career once he gets out. It’s good to hear about young people choosing to serve our country. Thanks for your comment. Keep training!
Matt - love your stuff, you've got me working out daily with the jo. Question- this video shows a jo with a sort of grip carved in both ends. How do you like this compared to the traditional smooth jo. Just cut down a nice piece of hickory and need to decide whether to go smooth or carve some grip. Keep up the good work!
This will come in handy during my daily walks. Unfortunately our peaceful community has been corrupted lately with home invasions and theft. Just the other evening noticed these two thugs walking down on street on both sides looking into peoples driveways. Got to keep one's head on a swivel 24/7 in these turbulence times 🤨 Great video and simple technique to keep one safe from an aggressive opponent. Since my older age and unable to run as fast. I am unable to flight, have to fight 😤

Thanks. I prefer the smooth Jo. This one takes some adjustment on your grip.
