Gamercat 99 Seriously!!?? and that's in regards to what's voting or viewing statistics!! simply because over all in space of 10 years I don't think viewing stats would even be remotely comparable to Smallville ... sorry
I always thought Smallville could have been a timeless series, if the cast were still into making it, I think they could have made another 10 seasons and call it Metropolis. I always wanted them to do a spin off Justice League Live action series with the original Justice League cast that would have been awesome.
I understand people's critique on not seeing him in a good view with the suit. This show wasn't about Clark Kent being Superman, it was about Clark Kent in his teenage/young 20s years and going through the trials to become the man of steel. I wasn't completely satisfied with the finale, but at the same time the ride to get there was an adventure and i won't judge the whole show by just the finale. Clark finally believed in himself and realized he could become a great force for good. I loved smallville and own all 10 seasons on DVD. with the exception of season 8, the show was something my dad and i constantly connected through. Not everything is going to be true to the comics and I think the writers did a good job of creating a new modern day superman.
If that were to happen it shouldn't be season 11. It should be a new series called superman, written by the same people, starring the same people, same universe. But I don't think there is much more to tell. At least not in the drama sense, just action.
I always imagine he just plummets back to earth again after taking off, smashing back into the snow and then being super frustrated “seriously guys, how do you fly!?! This was all a really inspirational moment and all, but I actually need someone to teach me!” 😂
Sadly legal reason stopped them using full on footage of him wearing the suit. Where in a shot you see his whole body with the suit on. WB only own 50% of CW. Part of the deal is that they can only use so much on tv. WB would not allow the makers to do a full on screen shot of him wearing the suit. Like if they were to ever do a prequel series to Batman like Smallville. You would never see a full on shot of Bruce Wayne wearing the batsuit. You would see them do what they did here. WB wants to save those shots for the films. Batman and Superman. WB consider them there 2 biggest franchises at DC.
***** Welling was dead-set aagainstever wearing the suit from day one. He said so, his co-stars and showrunners said so...the only people who've ever said otherwise are SMALLVILLE fans who refuse to accept he never wanted to be Superman. It was Welling's call to never suit up. Blaming everybody else for his decision has always been the fandom's biggest mistake.
That's just... stupid. They have practically everything from the comics, but oh dear no, he can't wear the suit! We can show him kinda wearing it, but not really. OH THE HORROR IF HE EVER TOTALLY WORE IT!!! OUR F***ING COPYRIGHTS!!!
DarthRushy There were no "copyright" issues with the costume. Welling flat-out refused to wear it. His showrunners admitted as much, his co-stars admitted to it and to having disagreements with him over it, and he even said in interviews he had no interest in being the full-blown Superman. And when he got promoted to producer status on the show, there was no chance of him ever being made to wear it. I am beyond sick of the Superman fandom treating Welling as a golden calf and making endless excuses for him when the blame for him never wearing the suit is on his head and his alone. (Well, that, and Gough and Millar casting him to begin with instead of an actor who would have been willing to suit up....) He didn't want to be Superman, only Clark Kent. Why Superman fans refuse to accept that is beyond me. To say nothing of their obsessive refusal to accept anyone other than Welling in the role on top of that....
Reid Mason I know he didn't want to wear it, but from the last ep, it seems his contract was awfully open to loopholes. Like, he KINDA wears it, but really doesn't. That's what bugs me. It makes no sense.
Emmanuel Silvera Exactly 10 years build up for nothing he deserved 1 episode as Superman meeting up with the team in the suit having a gigantic battle with Daksied it was a let down :(
I used to catch Smallville on and off as a kid. They still had the animated series and Justice League played alot during its airing times so I didnt mind it most of the times. When I caught it, i was fascinated but at the time, anything animated had higher priority for me. Now I somewhat regret not watching it along side the animated Superman and Justice league shows....
You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They'll race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall, but in time, they will join you in the ... oh. Sorry. Wrong show.
In the comics & also the show Lois & Clark his Superman costume was made by his earth mother Martha, The blanket's that was in his space ship when he 1st came to earth in as a infant were all made into his Superman costume by Martha. But in this last episode of Smallville his real father Jor El gives him it by letting his earth father Jonathan hand it to him. This makes no cents since Martha was the one to make it from his blankets from his ship.
The Jor-El AI/Fortress transported Martha's suit to the fortress and hid it in the ice, in an earlier episode in season 10. Clark and the Jor-El AI were on non-speaking terms at the time. It is the same suit.
This series started when I was just a tiny little piss head, now Im old and had kids, brooo.. this is the best ever series.. hands down hands down.. the ending really2 made me cry and that is back in highschool.. best of the best
After 20 years, I watched the show from A to Z and I fully understand it now (unlike when I was 8). People will always complain but this show was and is still amazing. If you are the kind of person that wants to watch the real superman story with all the costume crap, this show is not for you. I loved the fact that this was 10 years of Clark Kent and the last part was superman. Some people complain because they don't have hindsight and it is a shame. Compared to all the TV shows nowadays Smallville is one of a kind and will always be gold and bring nostalgia
Having purchased the entire box set from Seasons 1-10, i heard that he does wear the suit, but i never took any notice of it, in the event of being disappointed. Was i disappointed? Emotional i was that he FINALLY DID wear it. BUT, why oh why did they not prolong it a little longer and maybe show him off to the people of Metropolis? It all felt too rushed an ending! I WANTED MORE SUPERMAN FROM TOM WELLING!!
Well, I believe they've stated that on one of the earths, it is. We know the house and farm is the same. Smallville is part of the DC multiverse and by way of the alternate earths, the Arrowverse.
Many years ago, I was writing a Smallville crossover fan-fic. The series was still on at the time (I can't remember which one). In my story, Clark was to apparently 'die' then return, as Superman, for the final battle. I had planned out a flashback scene for him becoming Superman that pretty much was the same as this one.
They owed it to us to at least give us him in the suit with a decent view. It sucked. They built the whole show around revealing this at some point and frankly shortchanged us. Cavil IS much better superman though, lets be real. Welling was a great superboy but as he got older there was no way he would be as good as cavil.
Smallville messed up his character. The entire point of Clark's character is that he is a very good person. A "goody goody". He is not supposed to be kissing girls in bed and going dipping in lakes naked with naked girls and peeking through their clothes and having sex with them and making all kinds of dumb decisions, etc, all which he had done many times throughout the series. He is supposed to be like Chris Reeve.
Richie Thomas That's just silly. No they didn't mess him up. A hero needs their personal/social life, have a little fun not just do their superhero job all the time you know. Why Superman needs to be a "goody goody" all the time? That would make his character boring. Nobody is perfect even Superman or Batman. That was just a dream he had and that was just when his x-ray vision was first activated. It's just a natural thing for anyone to do. That does not make him a bad person. Lol. You know Christopher Reeve's Superman slept with Lois Lane and they both had sex in the fortress in Superman II. And I guess you never watched Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman either. He's not always "goody goody" in that one either. Lol. Even in the comics he's not.
@fandomking8939 you sound like a complete idiot 🙄 FYI I've watched every episode of this shit show just to be disappointed like everyone else at least those with sense.. obviously you aren't one of them.As a matter of fact judging by your idiotic statement you probably weren't even born when this show 1st aired so stfu. I'm old enough to be your absent father..
"You will give the people an ideal to strive towards, they will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall, but in time, they will join you in the sun, in time, you will help them accomplish wonders." Jor-El--- man of steel 2013---
Yes you should! it's the origin of how Clark becomes superman. Now it doesn't go exactly by the comics. he does fight villains early such as doomsday and Zod. But overall the show is good. Better then arrow and flash? Nah. But without Smallville, arrow and flash would not exist
***** The show is good. I mean yeah it wasn't perfect. But it's very similar to the flash. The reason why people criticize it is because 1. It takes him 10 years to fly and become superman. 2. He didn't wear the suit and 3. Smallville had some up and down seasons. Such as season 7. That season had sooooo much drama between Clark, Lex and Lana. But still the show is great. It gets closer to him getting teased as superman around season 8-10. Heck even in season 10 he actually gets the suit in a briefcase but never wears it till the scene in this video^^
I have two problems with this scene. One, Jor-El says, "...you abilities may be of my blood..." What? That doesn't make any sense at all, because Jor-El never had the abilities of super strength, super speed and whatever because he never lived on Earth, He lived on Krypton, on which he would have been like a normal human. Two, would it have hurt to show a full body shot of Tom wearing the suit instead of close ups of his face?
still same blood, also in smallville jorell did visit earth to check if it was alright to send his son, theres this whole episode about it. about the suit tom said hed only sign the contract as long as he never had to wear the suit, so all the full body shots are cgi and editing
Marc Cisneros He has those abilities on Earth because of our yellow sun. Krypton had a red sun and every one who lived there were just normal people. They didn't have any abilities. Since Jor-El lived on Krypton just before it was destroyed, he was normal, he did not have any abilities. They shared the same blood only because Kal-El is his son. Could Jor-El fly? Did he have super-strength, super-speed or be able to see through objects? No, he couldn't. Therefore, they didn't not have the same abilities, just the same blood because Kal-El was his son. As for the ending, that's your opinion.
Yes Terrance Stamp. A lot of earlier Superman cast have appeared over the 10 seasons as established characters from the legend - Chris Reeves himself in wheelchair as Dr Swann, Dean Cain as "Jack The Ripper", Margot Kidder, Annette O Toole was Lana is Superman 3, the list goes on. the Chris Reeves Superman when he is running alongside the train the little girl who waves at him is supposed to be Lois. Her parents are played by an earlier B&W Lois and Clark incarnation actors.
watch the entire seies its worth it tbh. seasons 1-6 mainly about smallville, 7-10 is basically about metropolis/daily planet/relationship with lois lane builds and he gradually gets closer and closer to superman.
+Dan Root - Chill punk. I am one of the biggest S fans out there and yes Christopher Reeve films I and II were awesome movies for their time. Holy Christ 3 & 4 blew chunks and were some of the worst movies ever made - money grabs that didn't pan out. Especially with Richard Pryor and then Nuclear Man - jezzuz those were some horrible movies. Superman Returns was Bryan Singers tribute to the first Reeve movie with Lex being the villain > The opening title flyby sequence, music, storyline and even the ending scene were all remakes from Superman I. Smallville has nothing to do with the Superman movies. It started with Clark as a freshman in high school just developing his powers as a teen.
"finally becomes superman" What a joke he did EVERYTHING as Clark He beat almost all his villains before he even put on his suit WHAT A JOKE Whats next for superman ??? That is why I always hate this kind of series The same goes for Gotham
Doomsday is trapped underground; so will break out eventually, Zod could possibly escape from the Phantom Zone, and Darkseid just dissipated when Clark flew through him; so he is still alive. Lex is obviously going to become the villain from the comics, and Toyman and Metallo are still at large in the Marionette Ventures. The only villain Clark beat forever was Braniac.
I've never seen the show, and I'm not trying to offend anyone or hate on this show, but... Just from this clip, it seems pretty cheesy and lame. I'm wondering why this show had a lot of fans.
Jordan Goodbye By season 10, it was not good at all. I was a fan and defender of the show for years, but after everyone else were wearing their costumes and going by their code names, but not the star of the show, I lost my taste for it. Hell, even Aquaman and Hawkman upstaged Superman.
Gotham ending better go like this : Commisioner gordon is driving towards a bank robbery and once he gets there he sees a man in a bat suit curstomp 20 enemies with a 700 hit combo, batman then walks up to him as gordon asks who he is he then goes " I AM THE DARKNESS, I AM THE NIGHT I AM-" and then the show finishes before he says batman..
I honestly feel like some of you didn't even watch the series and are just on here making guesses from this one clip. The S on his chest stands for many things. It is his families Kryptonian crest, his name is superman so it's also for that, and yes he is from Smallville.
actually they do change it. in the comic series smallville season 11 is a direct continuation from the show. in the comic he suit is now a bit based on the "new 52" dc universe costume instead of the classic design. if u interested to read them each issue is only about a dollar digitally. currently newest issue is the olympus ark and clark meets wonder woman.
Always hold onto Smallville "Don't lose what makes you human."
You all need to realise that the reason they didn't focus on screen time of Clark (superman) in the suit was intentional. This show was entirely an origin story. The last scene of the crystalline-technology Krypton we first saw in 1978, the first truly *alien* world, civilization, and technology I had ever seen to that point.
Happy 5th anniversary to Smallville!!!! 2011-2016 Can't believe its been 5 years already!!!
it been 10 years
Felt like longer!
Smallville started in 2001 its been 20 years
@@zeeklerogers3396 Happy 20 years of Smallville!
@@gunswordfist Yeah, time flies!
Clark discover that he need to hide his powers, a Brainic from the Legion shows Clarks future as superman and Clark find him self wearing glasses hiding his secret identity, thats when Clark start using the glasses, watch the last 2 hours of the season finale, but the reason is clear, he didnt know he was going to be this amazing.
MY FAVOURITE TV SHOW OF ALL TIME
As good as Arrow & Flash are they'll never ... Ever!!! compete with Smallville
I have to disagree with you on that. I think The Amazing World Of Gumball is the best TV show EVER!!!!!
Gamercat 99
Seriously!!?? and that's in regards to what's voting or viewing statistics!! simply because over all in space of 10 years I don't think viewing stats would even be remotely comparable to Smallville ... sorry
matt kylie Dude jeez calm down it's just my personal opinion!
erica made the last few seasons of this worthwhile.
I always thought Smallville could have been a timeless series, if the cast were still into making it, I think they could have made another 10 seasons and call it Metropolis. I always wanted them to do a spin off Justice League Live action series with the original Justice League cast that would have been awesome.
*Superman and a plane*
My inner monologue: NO CAPES!!!
Listen, Jor-EL was dead-beat at times, aka tough as hell.
But he really softened up, even to materialize John to send Clark off in his suit.
We need season 11 😩
If that were to happen it shouldn't be season 11. It should be a new series called superman, written by the same people, starring the same people, same universe. But I don't think there is much more to tell. At least not in the drama sense, just action.
+Mosisusasu called metropolis
There is a comic book series called Smallville season 11 and it's a continuation of the show
We have it! Look up Smallville Season 11. I've actually got it in my hands right now :D
and 12 and 13 and 20
I always imagine he just plummets back to earth again after taking off, smashing back into the snow and then being super frustrated “seriously guys, how do you fly!?! This was all a really inspirational moment and all, but I actually need someone to teach me!” 😂
Clark becomes...BATMAN
😂😂
Infinite earth crisis showed us that this Clark abandoned the suit and his powers on his own
Sadly legal reason stopped them using full on footage of him wearing the suit.
And I think Tom Welling didn't ever want to wear the costume
It would of been funny if Lois held up a sign in the window that said, "You look ridiculous in that suit" lol
AND THEN SUPERMAN RETURNS
NO! We do not speak of it!
Axitros damn it WHY x_x it was a good film : / well. my opinion, ofcourse
Rik Thunder no it was terrible mos redeemed the franchise
My opinion remains unchanged
Rik Thunder I guess but it's an opinion lol
Why is “with Jonathan and Martha Kent, and all the people there” so unintentionally fing funny 😂😂
Awesome finale! We got smoke monster Darkseid, Frankenstein monster Lex and CGI Superman! What more could anyone ask?
some much more, the finale was in my opinionen a completly let down
They should of had at least 1 episode with him as superman just one lousy episode! or at least a lengthy ending with an epic fight or something :(
terrible finale... what are you talking about? They didnt give us one good look of him in the suit just a bunch of face shots.
Emmanuel Silvera
Exactly 10 years build up for nothing he deserved 1 episode as Superman meeting up with the team in the suit having a gigantic battle with Daksied it was a let down :(
That sucks so bad why do the series if your not prepared to wear the suit at the end it could of been amazing
They'll race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall, but in time, they will join you in the ... oh. Sorry. Wrong show.
+Yerflua kek
+Yerflua MOS is so much better than this just can't campare man :D
+ulrich rafa to bad BVS sucked
Don't forget about The Adventures Of Superman the George Reeves show of the 50's/60's it was also made by his earth mother as well.
I enjoyed the closure we got from Crisis, but for me i wanted to see his version of Superman at least once on screen.
Crisis was a middle finger to Smallville.
Christopher Reeve. The Best SUPERMAN ever.
now, and forever.
The show said from the beginning, no suit, no full on Superman. They stretched the point to give the fans almost what they wanted.
Love how they made the first 5 seasons about lana and Clark and it looked promising but then the decided, let's make her walking kryptonite... K
I wish this was cannon with Elseworlds...hearing the theme gave me all types of feelings
Well, I believe they've stated that on one of the earths, it is. We know the house and farm is the same. Smallville is part of the DC multiverse and by way of the alternate earths, the Arrowverse.
I should've kept watching the show just to see this moment. Pretty cool.
lmao the quality
Many years ago, I was writing a Smallville crossover fan-fic. The series was still on at the time (I can't remember which one). In my story, Clark was to apparently 'die' then return, as Superman, for the final battle. I had planned out a flashback scene for him becoming Superman that pretty much was the same as this one.
Jack Woodgate cool
They owed it to us to at least give us him in the suit with a decent view. It sucked.
They built the whole show around revealing this at some point and frankly shortchanged us. Cavil IS much better superman though, lets be real. Welling was a great superboy but as he got older there was no way he would be as good as cavil.
are you sure that your opinion has nothing to do with the fact that he's shirtless and on-fire for the first part of the movie and in every trailer?
No, I'm not gay. I just like seeing superman doing stuff other than not doing stuff....
Richie Thomas
That's just silly.
The Star Treker Yes they did mess him up. They got Clark's character all wrong.
I love it that they had the yellow S on the back of the Cape. That is the only complaint I have about the new Superman is that Cape S. I miss that.
Incredible ending, incredible show.
I was a terrible ending.. to a long drawn out show.. the end was horrible and disappointing
@@ipittythefool79then why are you on a clip of ot? If ots just to whine, that says everything about how much credibility your opinion has.
"You will give the people an ideal to strive towards, they will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall, but in time, they will join you in the sun, in time, you will help them accomplish wonders." Jor-El--- man of steel 2013---
Ok I have question for the people who watched this show
Should I watch it
Seeing how it took 10 seasons for him to put on a suit idk anymore
Yes you should! it's the origin of how Clark becomes superman. Now it doesn't go exactly by the comics. he does fight villains early such as doomsday and Zod. But overall the show is good. Better then arrow and flash? Nah. But without Smallville, arrow and flash would not exist
+Azan Hanif I know and yet people complain that show wasn't that good even though they have seen all 10 seasons
Azan Hanif I agree with everything you said
***** So are you gonna watch the show?
And that LOST and SOPRANOS is how you end a series!!
Thank you Smallville, it's been an amazing 10 year journey
Acelore Anime
Well, that's no excuse for this lame ending.
jorel lived on earth, he actually died there on earth. Was killed by zod even from what i remember.
Marc Cisneros
He has those abilities on Earth because of our yellow sun. As for the ending, that's your opinion.
yagamijase yes but if jorel was on earth he would have the same abilities so saying "your ablities are of my blood" isnt wrong
when I think of smallville end it makes me cry me and bro used to watch it all the time it brings back memories
So is there a chance of this is how Gotham's actual finale might end? A glimpse of Bruce becoming Batman?
The Batman If it's just gonna be a tease, I'd rather it be him carving his first batarang.
They're rushing to make it so the show lasts until the actors are as old as their comic book counterparts...
This show was, ok, but I honestly believe they could have left out at LEAST 2 seasons. Just started to drag after season 7.
Highly agree. Especially when Michael Rosenbaum left.
watch the entire seies its worth it tbh. seasons 1-6 mainly about smallville, 7-10 is basically about metropolis/daily planet/relationship with lois lane builds and he gradually gets closer and closer to superman.
Trivia: That's the Superman Returns suit prop. Which is probably why it fucking sucked.
+Dan Root was just thinking that lol, this whole show was garbage to me tho
If your talking about the movie, no, Superman returns was great.
ゴジラFan98 It was okay, but it was nowhere near as wonderful as the Chris Reeve films.
Dan Root Superman Returns is literally a tribute to those movies.
It started with Clark as a freshman in high school just developing his powers as a teen.
exactly, it even took me a while to get that right but when I did I appreciated it even more then I did before.
I love it, if you don't like it you don't have to watch it!
And he's retired.
The only thing better would have been Jonathan yelling, Heeeee Hawww..... as Clark took off!
Best superman ever #TomWelling
The way Jor-El raised His son Kal-El and the way Jonathan Kent and Martha Clark-Kent raised Their son Clark is the reason there IS a Superman.
I've never seen the show, and I'm not trying to offend anyone or hate on this show, but... Just from this clip, it seems pretty cheesy and lame. I'm wondering why this show had a lot of fans.
This clip is very corny and crap the show overall is a really good show
It was pretty terrible. It was more the character dynamics that really brought in the crowd.
All 3 of you can piss off this bit rocked!
ever read a superman comic or watched on of the older movies? superman is pure cheese
@@heliopyre But this sucked, Christopher Reeve's Superman is pretty chessy by todays standards but at least the camera wasn't glued to his face.
how many got goosebumpy when Clark finally put on the Superman suit
Glad I never watched this series..how corny. And I love Superman. Just not the CW lol
Jordan Goodbye By season 10, it was not good at all. I was a fan and defender of the show for years, but after everyone else were wearing their costumes and going by their code names, but not the star of the show, I lost my taste for it. Hell, even Aquaman and Hawkman upstaged Superman.
+Plastiq Exorcist thats just too far mate
I hate CW too but Smallville was awesome so was Tom Welling
Gotham ending better go like this :
Commisioner gordon is driving towards a bank robbery and once he gets there he sees a man in a bat suit curstomp 20 enemies with a 700 hit combo, batman then walks up to him as gordon asks who he is he then goes " I AM THE DARKNESS, I AM THE NIGHT I AM-" and then the show finishes before he says batman..
Yes
Damn it!!! Why is it that every time I look at this on youtube I always get a tear or 2 coming down my face?!
1:56 Up Up and away
Now if they can continue this tradition of Epicness in Arrrow with similar scenes, I can die happy.
I think Smallville is more of a drama for teens than a comic book series for nerd lovers like my self.
They should have waited to make this show, it would have been much better now and maybe they would even make a legit Batman one with it.
Because that would be awful.
Because when this happened, we were all like FINALLY.
And then Clark saved the day in under two minutes.
