    Tissier is just pure energy hopping around in phase space.

    I should study up more on your aikido. I think it is time to come out of my own practice and see what others are doing.
    I would consider all of these nage waza iriminage since the driving force is the neck throw. I think Yoshinkan considers them tenchin nage but presses more on the chest rather than going to the neck.

      I asked this very thing of my instructor. He told me, it's all about intention. What is your intention. My intention is to grab, I said. Yes, he said, and my intention is to get out of your grab. If you simply let go, then I don't need to do anything. You have not gained anything and I have achieved my goal. But I'm not on the ground, I said. Yes, he said, but I too am also safe, I will not allow you to grab me. If your intention is to continue to try and grab and hold on to me, then you will end up on the ground.

      That's the point. To force uke to let go or be doomed by his own hand. This sensei is very respected.

      Aikido is the ultimate Martial Art,
      which means that you must not START by it.
      It's just an addition to EVERYTHING ELSE.
      So yeah, if something goes wrong, you need to be able to punch the guy in the face. And also know to block a punch. Or take one.

    • @josephmalone253
      @josephmalone253 Год назад

      @@blop-a-blop9419 punching is intuitive as is blocking. There is no knowing how to take a punch. Maybe you could shift as your hit but that is it. Aikido is just a form if jujutsu that people I make crazy claims about for and against because they have some story to tell. Like you really gonna care what style you train in when most of the stuff is the same. Styles ruined karate!
