I don’t see how you don’t have more subscribers with the information and insight you share but I’m sure everyone who watches you appreciates the work you do
I started a family trucking business on my own late last year with absolutely no knowledge in trucking but lots of help from your early on videos. Fast forward to now, I’ve only made sure that we’re staying on top of our permits and paying our driver but we’ve seen absolutely no profit. I recently lost my job and I’ve been hoping someone would mentor through this industry. I’m so glad you have the dispatcher course, I need it. I want to cut the middle man and really learn how to expand our business. Thank you Miranda, I do hope to meet you someday.
This is definitely an industry you don't want to dive in with no experience. I've seen some folks who started a trucking company with no experience and are successful, but, they had mentors and connections with shippers to move freight for. Cold call / meet manufacturers/ shippers and offer your services. Do that consistently and dont give up.
Sorry you had to go through such trouble with your Trucking Business, but here is a video that will guide you through the industry and will teach you anything you need ruclips.net/video/JRrftgt_3t4/видео.html
This was really helpful, I am a trucking specific Insurance Agent and was doing research on how to start a trucking company to better understand my clients and be a better help! Thanks for the info!
How’s it gone for the first year. My dad has been trucking otr for 15-20 years and has expressed to me about opening a business. He’s a little order so he came up with the plan that I start the llc and he’ll be our one driver starting out. It didn’t seem that bad but now that I’ve looked into the info it’s overwhelming. He has his own truck paid off. And we have like 50+ saved up. That’s the only thing we got going for ourselves right now. lol We are in dfw and it seems to always be loaded with truckers on the highway. I just think if we stay local or central Texas would it be actual profit? I work full time but I could slow down and be dispatch or my wife. She’s is full time but is down to be our full time dispatcher. Any free advice. Hahaha.
An S-Corp is also a pass-through entity. LLC's are much more personally dangerous than a corporation. Piercing the Veil of an LLC (your private property is liable) is rather simple for a middle-grade attorney. ALWAYS form a corporation (same cost as an LLC) and then elect a Chapter-S with the IRS. Your tax liabilities are no different than an LLC, yet your personal protection, ability to raise capital, contract procurement, and interest rates are FAR superior!
I enjoy your channel. I am just getting ready to start an LLC trucking company. Your information is awesome and you do a great job of communicating your points. Great job! Thank you!
This im learning to get my truck equipment to start my own independent business, which I'm must tread carefully to how operate the business on the right way. Thank you so much!!!
Please release the full course of this video. You make all this information so clear and easy to be understood. I recently started watching your videos with high interest in the trucking industry
Hi, I just wanted to say thanks to your instructional videos in the past I successfully started my trucking company. I received my Authority on 10/06/2022, I picked up my financed truck on 10/10/2022 and was approved for Amazon Relay on 10/10/2022. Everything went smoothly due to your help. Thank you so much for helping with my business!!!!! One more thing to add. Congratulations on the new electronic board. I remember your struggles with the marker board lol.
@@mohammedsiraj2496 They are all over the place and depends on the market and equipment type. I have seen box trucks get approved out of some markets in a week and in other markets, they never respond. On the the semi side, almost seems easier to work with a larger carrier that is moving 10-20 loads a day than trying to break the code. Personally, Amason should not be the only thing in your business plan. You need to be able to run freight away from them in a moment's notice, or if you never get approved.
You’re a God send. Thank you for your amazing content, I’m in the process of starting my own business thanks to your incredible teaching and thoroughness.
We just got our truck this week. I'm still working on getting 2290,IFTA, and all that.I have a hard time getting those 3 proof of address for our business.Hopefully they will take what I have.
So I am a guy who just go a CDL in February. I will be going under Prime INC. and will be a lease operator. I was told ill need to open an LLC but was a bit confused. Seems this video was what I needed but is this all there is to it? Seems like there isn't any cost for the most part either, which is surprising!
Ended up here not because of wanting to start a trucking business, but trying to figure out if filing a complaint for some unsafe driving i saw on a recent road trip was worth my time. Goal being to have a record of the incident in the event said trucker causes an accident in the future. Unfortunately don't have any video, but date/time/location and what i believe to be identifying numbers for the truck.
LLC is not for everyone, specially if you are 1 company owner and plan to grow, i would definitely suggest S corp(not sole proprietor) because of tax laws (took me 4 months to compare and decide the difference between the pros and cons llc vs s corp) And employment stuff,, one more new thing! New authority must setup a fmcsa portal and you will need a company to do your random drug test, clearing house is only for pre employment ,, very soon 1099 will be gone in trucking California is proof and other states will copy it
You’re so amazing. I been watching you for quite some time now. You taught me a lot. I been thinking about getting my authority but a little skeptical about the managing side of it. Could you pls do a video of doing the quarterly filings to stay compliant for a single o/o. Thanks in advance
Do I need to have my LLC fully filed and received the papers back from the state before I get my DOT number? or can I file to set up the LLC then immediately get DOT number, EIN,. Boc-3, and UCR

Hi Miranda! New subscriber here from the islands of Hawaii, first of all thank you so much for your videos I’ve learned a lot in trucking this past few weeks from your channel. Im currently driving for a company here in Honolulu picking up containers from the port to warehouses and vice versa been driving for 4 years now 2 years in the states and 2 years here, And Now I’m ready to start my own hopefully! I have question about state permits and my base. Question: Am I able to get a DOT and MC there with my base being in hawaii state? Also for state permits am I only gonna need state permits if the freight exceeds the weight and height legal limits? Thanks in advance and god bless you for your videos Aloha! 🤙🏽
Thank you. Personally I haven't heard of being successful without a truck or CDL, but I think what they mean is leasing on owner operators. Delegating the work in this market will always yield bad results sadly. I recommend to those who start a trucking company to also dispatch themselves and drive for their own authority.
Question for IRP and Afta how can I travel to company if I don’t have IRP plates and Afta because the company that I’m listening to is going to provide for it?
Great information. I was told there are websites that will prepare everything needed to startup. Therefore, file for LLC, get MC/dot #, basically all permits and insurance. So u do u know and companies or websites that provides that?
I'm on the fence about going OO or lease but interested in starting an LLC just to sit on it and let it age until if/when I decide to actually go OO. Aside from the fee in the state for the LLC, are there any ongoing fees? Assuming I do literally nothing with the LLC and it generated no cash nor spends any,; what sort of tax filing would be needed? Yearly, quarterly? With no income or expenses is the filing easy if it's even required at all? I want to start the LLC but also don't want to have to pay taxes or pay someone to file them every year if the company is just sitting
Hello Miranda, I need your input on UCR, how i should explain the customer why UCR is needed can u share ur thoughts on this. It will be helpful to me.❤
Hello I really enjoy your videos, I just started my trucking company with 1 freightliner Cascadia. I currently have a management team operating my company and would like to manage on my own now to save on expenses. When will you release your how to manage course?
What if I have LLC ( construction), should I change it occupation to transportation before getting Mc and DOT? I have non cdl 26ft box truck , 26000lbs
amazing information!! 1 question. if i am a broker and dont have any truck yet... what permits i need in order to operate?... i just form the LLC in Texas. It would be such a huge help! :)
Thank you for all the information, we are getting started with a new company llc. You have answered all of the confusing questions. Can I ask which state you base in.
