    Wow, looks fantastic! But tires look too gray for me.
    Well that's a render view. Do you have any idea of how it is going to look in a game?

      +Alexander Kropyvka You can adjust the color of the tires to make them completely black, As for a game, it would need some work first

    I noticed on your thumbnail that you made a few tweaks to the floor plane and car to fit the background. I was wondering if you could briefly explain what you did because I'm having trouble with my car looking out of place in my scene

      Tha background is an HDRI image

      Mike Hermes I'm using the same hdri image you are using but am using a different car model that I modeled myself. I used the same exact material on my car but my car still seems out of place. For example, the image would seem kind of blurry while my car would look too realistic making it look like I just copied and paste a image on a picture. Sorry if I'm confusing.

    Hello Mike, As always, you present very cool stuff.
    I am actually going through a project, its a commercial for Engine oil. Where I will have to animate the car with some of its best render setting. I am having problem with roads and the backgrounds. Like I am not sure how do I set the images in the background, that should look as if the whole scene was shot in real environment. any suggestion or help?

      Adding a depth of field blur always helps ( see my video on that ) In addition make sure your back image is not reflecting or cating and or receiving shadows. If you can use an HDRI image ( see my videos on that )

    hey amazing tutorial, thank you! here is my question, what you have done is usable only inside of the maya right? so it is just for rendering and having a few images, we cannot use these textures in a game engine, right? if not, how? is there any way to export the textures you've created to outside of the maya and use?

      I stumbled upon this 7 months later, so you may have already figured it out, but game engines won't have any idea how to use the shader graph you've made. The materials made in Maya will only work with the renderer.

      +Decio Gomes Export the textures ? I assume you mean together with the model ? You should bake the textures

      +Mike Hermes Thanks for answering Mike. I mean how to take the texture map with color and shades, basicaly the texture map to put it in a game, directly, without using photoshop. Can I do it? How can i do, please i really need it so much! ty your tuts are amazing!

      +Decio Gomes OK I understand. After the model is complete and fully textured you need to BAKE all the textures ( bump maps, speculars maps etc etc ) into one "Bake". So now you model has one single file containing everything. Then you load your model and you file into the game engine

      +Mike Hermes Hey Mike Hermes, I finaly found something specifically about this question but it is in Zbrush. It's matcap texture, zbrush exports the matcap texture with material shine and shadows, could i do the same in maya? Thank you!

      +NOR3MSTI Each shader has different characteristics..Blinn is shiny, Lambert is not etc

    Excuse me, how do you make a grouping on each parts? like glass, etc??
    I tried grouping them (Ctrl + G) and it said "Not enough objects or values", any ideas?

      +Jody Hong It sounds like the meshed you have selected were already combined. You need 2 or more objects to group

      Don't really understand, you mean select more faces? o.O
      Because last time I'm using a Faces to group them and its failed.. o.O

      +Jody Hong If you want to group faces you can't use Ctrl+G you will have to select and detach them so you can quickly select them is needed

      I dont know. In the Outliner, it is shown as 1 part, named "Chevrolet_Camaro_2009:Mesh"

      Did you select it in Object mode and click Mesh - Separate ?

      +R Srikanth My rule of thumb is : If it will move ( deform ) or be sculpted always use quads. If not, tris's are ok ( even in games )

      Hmm yeah that weird I cant think why they would do that. Possibly for the purposes of a car model it might make it look kinda better for rendering, the way its lit kind of thing.

      A Polygon is a face with more than 2 sides so Tris are also polys. Depending on the platform tris and polys are used

    i think maya is easier to use than blender. i use both blender and maya but i find maya way more understandable. blender is making me confused many times

    Applying shaders is not texturing. You put no textures on this.

      Check your plugin manager for mayatomr.mll to see if mental Ray is loaded
