Film clips from:
The Ten Commandments (1956)
The Story of Jonah (2018)
The apposition of the singing woman and the speaking man at the beginning is quite brilliant - it ensures we don't think that "qol" could mean "he/she speaks" (a verb we've already seen), but intuit, paired with the eminently clear facial expressions, that a sound or voice is merely heard. Amazing! 👏
And I love how this episode is building so nicely on previous lessons - the variety and complexity of the sentences is steadily and pleasantly increasing. This makes understanding the Bible passage at the end super easy - it also happens to be one of my favorite to read from the Old Testament! Great story telling in the facial expressions and the tone of voice, which cry out: "That ain't Esau! That's Jacob!" 😂
The sad face Beth makes when she says "lo shama'ti b'kol ishi" is breaking my heart.
Oh my....! I understand every word. I'm learning! I'm learning to read and understand small part of Gods Torah. Thanks a lot. (Can't leave without leaving a comment)

I am so happy that they showed part of the " Ten Commandments." And I read my second verse. God bless you. Eden (9 year-old from Uganda)
Hi Eden and Moses! I (Andrew/Avram) am writing an article for The Gospel Coalition Africa, and I was wondering if you would be willing to be part of it! I would love to feature a little testimonial from you, as well as a couple pictures. The article is about strengthening Africa with the biblical languages. If you're willing, please email alephwithbeth@gmail.com a little bit about your experience learning Hebrew with us, and a few pictures of you. Thank you!
Thank you vers much.
God bless you two.
You are the best teacher I have seen.I adore Israel and Hebrew
Your videos are so well thought out and put together. Thank you so much for the countless hours you two are putting into this series.
Excellent. Perhaps the most encouraging video I've done to date. I can follow a story. Thanks Beth.
Thank you. This connects the dots for what’s missing in my classes for Biblical Hebrew. Well done

Gracias por enseñarme Hebreo Biblico, es algo que aprecio porque es la verdadera razón de que Israel esté en el consierto de las Naciones; y que la luz Eterna de Yahveh resplandezca para siempre. Su Ley Eterna que es la base y fundamento de las Naciones pueda brillar en medio de tantas tinieblas que llenan a la humanidad en nuestro Planta. God Bless Israel.
Gracias muchas gracias.
love this !
SHALOM SHALOM BETH ❤🙏💚🧡🤝💛💙🍭🍬🍭🍬💚🙏
Un grand plaisir de suivre vos vidéos. J’apprécie la qualité de votre travail. Tov mehod.
Revisiting this lesson today. I found it helpful to review even though I am working my way through lesson 72. 😎
Thanks for pronouncing the Name of God perfectly (YHWH). I wish you pronounced the waw this way (w) all through in the Hebrew lessons, as it was pronounced during the ancient times, instead of vav, which is characteristic of modern Hebrew. SHALOM
Also I found this great app on apple store called Bible Vocab ( Biblical Hebrew and also Greek) that work very well for revising the new vocabulary.
Que maravilla!!! Mis oraciones para ustedes, gracias
Preciosas lecciones, lindo idioma.
Shalom sister tov
Gracias
감사드립니다.
Fenomenal gracias
07:20 was absolutely hilarious. He just nods like "yeah, and make me a sammich too"🤣
You are amazing! Love the video structure and acting. Could you please tell me what is that word at 15:10 that you tell each other?
Thank you! :) I guess you're referring to "hinneni"? It's the word "hinneh" (kind of like "behold"), with a 1st person sg. suffix, so "hinneni" is like saying "here I am!" when someone calls you.
@@AlephwithBeth "hinneni" sounds like "look at me". "Hinne" like "look".
תודה רבה
Toda raba!
Just saw an ad during this video, I know you had asked in a poll about that.
Obrigado, excelente método!! O melhor que já vi pata o hebraico!
תודה רבה, מעולה🎉🎉🎉🎉
שלום! טוב מאוד!
I could understand everything you said! I am so happy! :) I need to work more on my reading, especially vowels diacritics. Still so hard for me :(. תודה רבה
Nice
❤
"mi hu?" (at 12:23) And I wanted to say "Charlton Heston."
For the first time, I am getting lost. If I were to pause and read the slides, I get it but my aural comprehension is lacking.
Yeah, it can take time to assimilate everything. I suggest watching several times over and also watching just listening without focusing on the written words.
Es igual en el idioma Chatino de Oaxaca, México. Si no obedece, se dice que no oyó.
אני אוהב את הכיתה הזה. תדה!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Guys, the link to your position paper on the divine name does not work. As someone who has taught English in Turkey, I think your teaching technique is brilliant!! Tov meod.
Hey thanks for the heads up! You can always find the most recent edition on our website on the pronunciation page. Hopefully that one will work. freehebrew.online/pronunciation
Ioffi benot Israel très bien votre lecture , Todà rabbà
Do you have a DVD of your lessons?
Kitah yafa veatem gam yafim .
Noted the broken link for the pronunciation of God's name.
Fixed! Thanks!
Mas uma aula que vou fazer
Real question -- is there a difference between "בקל" and "לקל"? Or are they interchangeable?
I'm from India Hyderabad todha this is David Philips
Do you think when Moses saw the burning bush he was like, "No way!" and the bush replied, "Yahweh!"
Could you please clarify how the conjunction "ki" works and is translated at 9:15? Thanks in advance!
Does "ki" mean "because" here?
שׁוֹפָר
...so good.
I can not support you cz I dont have cc and those kind of payments but I watch all the ADS. Hopefully I can do a little help.
I can understand ‘בּה
SHALOM.
Me habéis ayudado enormemente. Me repito, pero no me cansa decir: HACÉIS UNA LABOR INCREÍBLE. Todá Rabá. :)
got me crying
Ayuda!: tengo problemas con entender la relación que existe entre el verbo "obedecer"y cuando se habla del nombre de una persona. Son palabras que provienen de la misma raíz? es "obedecer" o prestar atención a lo que escuchas?
In יהוה the middle ה has to have a vowel, no?
Because in Yahweh, the middle H has no sound... Seems it should be YAUEH written like יואה
Or like YAVEH יוה
What do you guys think about it?
Hi, David! Check out the Pronunciation page on our website under "What about the Divine Name?" for our thoughts:

Excuse me, what the function of ב in בְקוֹל, Thank you
I think it means "with"
Very good lesson. Wouldn’t “Yahweh” be more accurately spoken as “YahVEH” just like NinVEH? (Just asking)
Thanks! Here is a link to the Pronunciation page on our website (scroll down to see our explanation on "What about the Divine Name?":

13:23 that's a movie from the Jehovah's witnesses 😁
Me he saturado un poco aquí... Lo repasaré más veces.
I thought jews do not pronounce the tetragrammaton.?
Subtitle is needed but I still understand without it 😁
Elohim is also used as a title for leaders. In this case, what would the singular of elohim look like? Eloeh?
Can you cite one example? I believe it is used of other spiritual beings (good or bad) and disembodied spirits (like Samuel at Endor). I don't think it is ever used of flesh and blood people.
Col=voz?
voz o sonido
ושתי לא שמעה בקול אחשורוש ותמאן המלכה ושתי לבוא
Are you pronouncing כל and קול alike? I say ק farther back that כ.
Yes I am pronouncing them the same, but you're right that historically qof was pronounced farther back!
Sino Dios no tendría nombre directamente.
After 3 min, you are going to fast to assimilate
Hi, Blanca! Check your RUclips settings to adjust the playback speed. You should be able to slow the video down as you need. :)
if the vav is the "v", so why do you say "yahweh" if the vav is no "w"???
