He's Canadian, eh? They do that. What boggles me is this unit's only $20/EUR 20... I'm kind of thinking of getting two and actually using them for monitor stands, but being able to get all the crap that accumulates on my desk now up off of it... There's also a shelf unit (also IKEA) that clamps onto the back of your desk that would take care of the bigger stuff...
I had the Tengu and passed it on QUICK. I love your other choices. Before I got into “EDC” collecting, I was strictly a Benchmade guy and their edges lasted a WHILE…the Bushcrafter has an insanely, well done heat treat and blade profile. I did an entire “survival weekend” and harvested an animal with it and it still sliced when I got home.
Thanks for the Elloven review. It turns out that I have just the right size of gap under my enormous monitor shelf -- made from various Ikea parts to support both a video and audio monitors -- to fit an Elloven in. If you need more than one drawer of storage, consider also Ikea's Kvissle letter tray unit, which has four cork-lined trays plus a fifth area at the bottom. It's cheaper than the Elloven, and stackable too. I use one to store in-progress 3D-printed model parts by my workbench, and the cork lining on the trays ensures the parts don't get damaged or roll around when I slide the drawers in and out.
Please talk more about the Tengu 601. We maintain over 50 acres. I love not only carrying a good knife but also keeping blades handy like in the barn, the four wheeler or the tractor. BTW a multi tool is a must in the tractor’s tiny tool box.
I enjoy your out of the box thinking to find an aesthetically pleasing and functional storage solution, plus the tips for modifying. And, now I'm curious about that blade!
Ugh. Am I getting old and out of touch? I've never heard of EDC and he was so confident in it that it was never defined. Off to Google I go.... Every Day Carry.... Ohhhh. This makes more sense now
I have been searching for a valet box for edc items, this channel and video is exactly what i have been looking for! Definitely earned a Subscriber here.
I have the Elloven at both work and home to make our very minimal workstations more useful. My boss came in to my office and noticed it, now he has one too.
Man, that's a top level production video, like you have a full team prepared the script for you, precise, inclusive, detailed and not long and boring, after watching a lot of edc videos you're the closest to a real TV show or program, great job sir, salut 😉
It is so frustrating to see that his channel is not huge. He seems like the most professional yet has this no nonsense approach to his videos, direct to the point.
Thanks for this review. I'm going to check dimensions because actually I "built" a gaming laptop/hard drives stand using Ikea bamboo cutting board and their metallic shelves for glasses 😂 I have tons of hard drives and if I can fit them inside and under this solution it's gonna be more elegant.
Did I miss what EDC stands for somewhere? I watched the whole video (well, inasmuch as I watch things these days) and took a quick peek at the comment section.
@@DrMario_666 this guys videos are always so cringey. People that carry things like this around for some sort of clout and accessorizing rather than practical use is just a weird move. Like my guy, no one’s impressed by the tacky notebook.

My EDC is a Grey Plastic 50 Caliber Ammunition Box. At Home, in My Car or anywhere else “My Battle-Box” is never out of sight or very far away. Originally Advertised for $50 AUD, the Shelf Price was $30, but the Cash Register Receipt indicated a Unit Price of $20. Although the internal Load Out may change the “Battle-Box” itself remains constant.
Dude this is some very high quality content! You will grow for sure with more stuff like this. My only advice is to pull the A roll shot out wider. It's almost distractingly close to your face when you're talking. Keep it up bro!
Maurice, just wanted to say I saw this video a couple of days ago, and this morning I bought a set of these Elloven storage units. When I saw the display and picked up the unit and was amazed how sturdy this is. Just as you said and described in the video! Great video and thanks for the suggestion!
HA! I already have one of these!! I found it randomly in the As-is section and was like- this is PERFECT for me! Sadly, I couldn't bring it over to Korea with me, but maybe they'll have it at Ikea here too, even if I have to pay full price this time ^^
Might be worth considering adjusting the levels of the background music or omit them completely? It makes it hard to watch for clarity and accessibility reasons.
😳 Why didn’t I came up with this idea? We have the Elloven as a computer stand indeed, and my EDC stuff is laying everywhere in the house, because I haven’t proper cool storage. I’m going to Ikea again 😂
Hey, thanks for this video. I bought one of these and am using it on my desk. I also bought a cork mat from IKEA, which I cut to size to fit inside the drawer segments. Now the drawer contents don’t slide forward when I open it.
The elk oven is pretty cool. I wonder? Is the space underneath the drawer “tall” enough to fit another elloven drawer? Just thinking out loud, does ikea sell the drawer insert separately then you get double drawers? Definitely gonna check that one out next time go to ikea. Thanks for the tip.
Ive got the Gold class tengu, most beautiful knife ive ever seen in person, its solely reserved for unboxing the finest of gadgets. super cool knife but due to the lack of a pocket clip, among other things its a terrible option for anything outside of dainty tasks and being a cool conversation piece.

'Cause that knife is a Gold or Black level knife from Benchmade I can't recall what label they use to define their highest end knives... Like that 601 is in the Chris Reeves price range iirc... The only thing you didn't cover was if a tray from a second Elloven would slide into the space below the tray of the first one. That way you could buy two , toss the second stand,, and have a dual set of trays.

its cheap and easy and a year after my wife bought it, we're still using it for a variety of smaller items and edc. thanks for the tip!

Same. Where I'm from most people would prolly meant Electronic Data Capture, the little machine where you tap/swipe card for transactions.

Ikea has been holding the EDC community down for ages. Loads of good stuff there!
awesome. i was thinking about building something like that not realizing that it is readily available... saved me lots of time. thanks.
The Elloven monitor stand is really cool. Will definitely check it out. Thanks for sharing!
I wasn't in the market for any of these, but my man, this was an awesome video. Thank you.
This is such a well put together video. I love the solution and it’s super informative. Well done

Great ideas! Thanks!

We can use the drawer to keep the laptop inside and connect to the monitor as there is a cutout for hdmi cable .

I got two because of your video 👌🏾
I just wished it came in black and darker chestnut colour for the wood
this is great thank you. would love to have seen the IKEA product in use as a monitor stand
I have that as a monitor stand. Now you've given me another option to consider 😁

First time I've seen a video done by you. I absolutely love the format. Keep it up man
I think one the most important measurements about it is missing.. The height of the space below. “Would my mouse fit below beside my keyboard?” :)
oeh i love the idea of using it as a shelve breaker
thumbs up for that seiko alpinist at the beginning!
You are my dude! Just found you on RUclips. Great minds!
Excellent product. Just ordered one.
OMG this video is amazing, thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you 🙏🏽
RESPECT! I like that you got that Jeremy Silman book
I was thinking about organizing my desk since it's been a mess for much too long hahaha, officially on the the wish list to buy!

No, unfortunately it’s not tall enough for a second stand to fit under it.
It barely fits a mouse and a keyboard 😅

Yes! I am very curious now
a watch collection video please!
Available in anthracite too. $30US in Dec2023
Best reason to subscribe 😂. But really interesting video. Thanks for the tip!
How do you like your Seiko Alpinist? I've been thinking about getting that same one.
Great video. What’s the height of the space underneath the drawer?
What’s up with the benchmade? Do you like any other brands and styles of knives? How about the benchmade shootout?
Does the elloven have rubber feet? How to keep it from sliding around?
Great video, I wished that the footage had more contrast and an additional stop of exposure.
Nice video and I liked the idea.
How much headroom is under the drawer? Will a mac mini fit under there?
Love the video. Where are the lanterns on the shelf from?
This was superb! Subscribed 👍🏻

Hello, what was the small wooden box that was shown a couple times? It is simple and a basic latch but I thought it was very aesthetic.
What’s the deal with the Tengu?
Great idea for minimalist EDC ppl :-)
I really love your videos but the background music is soooo annoying. Anyway to remove it from future ones? Tks much,
Great Video! Thank you!
Hey just here to post that I'm not curious as to why ppl don't want that knife. Good video tho!
Actually it's detailed review of Ikea Elloven, but too much ads....
What is the measuring tool you use?
Why the black filter over the camera footage? Makes me think there is something wrong with the video playing.

I bought the Elloven last week and the fact that it was prebuilt made me very sad, I wanted to play Adult Lego....
Great video!
Hey are you able to find a cheaper alternative to the revov organizer, please
They should have made this 1 inch bigger. Then you could put a 32" monitor on it.
Cool!
May i know the name of the see through pouch in your thumbnail?

what is that background music? it slapped
