Yes. I was a manager for our local goodwill and everything name.brand was immediately put aside to be shipped back to the auction main good will warehouse. Anything ruined dirty ripped broken cracked could stay and any thing of value had to go. They would send floor watchers to.come walk my store weekly to make sure during the 50% off sale nothing worth anything wasnt being sold. They would even send a team in to pull jeans etc and box them up so they would NOT for 50% off. It got so disgusting i quit. Many.poor people would come to shop not just resellers. Lastly they would make us put all coats and jackets to the side and not put them out until sept so anything new coming in from march to end of august was saved then they would be hung up for 19.99 and higher. No more buying coats in summer time at a discount. I couldnt stand it anymore.

This is exactly why I am looking for other places to thrift…I have often found donated Home Goods or other major retail brands (some with damage or wear), often priced by Goodwill near the original price. There is no more “good will” in Goodwill. How is this helping consumers on more limited incomes find something they can afford? It’s a shame…I think they seem more concerned about profiting on what is given to them freely, rather than passing on good opportunities to those who really need them!

When my father retired from his high school principal job in 1994, as a family retirement gift, we sent him to Greece to meet family there he had never met & see a family graveyard. It was a trip of a lifetime for him. One of the family members he met was a young great nephew (I think). He was 11 years old & was fascinated with what it was like in America. My father asked him if there was anything he could send him after he returned home, & all he wanted was a Starter jacket. He didn’t care what color, only the fact that it was a Starter branded. Of course, my father got him the most expensive one he could find, thinking it would be the best & the boy was absolutely thrilled. 😊 Seeing Roger find the Starter jacket made me think of this story. Sadly, my father passed from cancer two years after his trip, so the memories from it are very special to my family. ❤

I have asked staff several times why the color tag inventory was so low and their response was that people bought all the items already... don't think so and your vid confirmed my thoughts. I used to go to Goodwill on Sunday afternoons to scope out the clothing items and had memorized the “color of the week” which begins Monday and ends Saturday. So Monday morning I would get there when they opened. Many times, there was very little “color of the week” when I knew I had been there just the evening before up until closing and there was a LOT. Another time, I got there at opening and they were pulling sweaters with the “color of the week” tag. So yes they DO pull the day of the sale so I am asking….why have a sale then? It was cart after cart of all “color of the week” items. I think they were going to the Goodwill outlet, but why not sell them for $2-$3 instead of by the pound? At least allow the color of the week to end before pulling them!

But what I've noticed is there are no items with these color tags on the racks. I've been wondering if Goodwill is pulling them and then one day I saw a rack in the store full of those colors that evidently the worker had pulled them and forgot to roll the rack to the back. When I asked the worker why there were no sale tags on the racks. she said people are buying them. Oh contraire.. they're on a rolling rack after being pulled.

Our Goodwill trusts in the area are pretty dismal shopping and no $2 days. Everything is broken and way overpriced. It's usually pretty slow for seeing other shoppers. The local ARC was following Goodwill's lead the last few years and lost a lot of business. Most people in the area try to avoid donating either place now. ARC in the last couple of months has started to lower their prices a bit and put out better items that aren't chipped and broken and it's getting busier. ARC is still providing a lot of community services whereas Goodwill has pulled their services and really just has court ordered community service hours peeps working there.

Our goodwills here in Central Florida have a color of the week on sale that changes every Sunday. I have noticed that right before Sunday goodwill employees will change and cover the old tag color on higher- end items to the new color tag so that they are not included in the sale along with anything that has an original price tag affixed to it is priced at half of retail. For example, I saw a set of plates in original box today at our goodwill that had an original price of $29.99 goodwill had them priced at $14.98. Absolutely ridiculous. I will stick to Salvation Army and the local church thrifts.

I went to a Goodwill, that was not the closest, a few towns over. Got up early, stood in the line. And as I was feverishly looking for the sale color, I found an employee pulling all of that color? For the advertised sale tag! I asked if I could go through it, and then the employee put it in the back. And then guess where it all goes? To the outlet/bins.

Goodwill stores in Lexington, KY have been shamelessly pulling the sale color barbs on Mon & Tues for a long time as Monday is the 1st day of the new sale color; I asked an associate why & was told that stores need the space for new inventory at the full price rather than use that space for half price items. It’s very frustrating and feels a bit scammy.

😊The Salvation Army in my hometown has dresses priced at $10.00. Other items are proportionately just as expensive. Maybe the financially disadvantaged receive vouchers in which to buy clothes. I'm just guessing, though.

We don't have a color of the day at the Goodwill stores in my region. The 50% off color tag runs for a whole week and then changes to a different color the next week. Senior Day is Wed (15% off) and they have a monthly customer appreciation day where you can get 15/20/25% off depending on how much you spend plus a 20% coupon for 2 days later. But they do stack multiple discounts so you can get 50% off the color tag of the week plus another 15% off on Senior Day.

Juicy Pear is my fav. I live in the Rogue Valley Oregon & prices here are much higher than where you're at. The blouses are $8.50 & $10.50 and some are priced higher depended on what GW thinks they're worth. Some GW's here have a great price on the shoes & other may be high but be lower on the linens. It's just all over it seems. I stopped donating & used to feel bad, but I feel I give enough with my purchases there weekly & I don't have a clue to where that donated money gets funneled to. These days, everywhere you go, they ask for donations. I do donate to charities, but I really research them first. Long, rant, that's that. lol

Manatee, Sarasota County (FL) Goodwill start on day one of the week's sale! They could pull, then hang on separate rack, then roll away after the week has ended!

I can't remember the brand name of the witch but she looks like the brand that sells for $100 plus. Also, since Kmart closed, people are collecting things specific to Kmart. 590 pesos is about $33

Those jelly belly beans are sneaky. I don’t like them all that much and never buy them, but but feel compelled to eat them if they are in front of me. Of all flavors, I prefer black or licorice beans, but end up eating even the most unappealing flavors too. The little devils 😂

I like to mix Jelly-Belly flavors. Buttered popcorn with chocolate, Coffee with chocolate, Cherry with chocolate. Hmmm. there seems to be a common denominator.
