You two are the coolest couple! You are so positive and fun and Roger seems like the kindest, soft spoken and funny man around! You both are blessed to have found each other! Congratulations and best of luck to you!
It was good to see how Roger pre-package his inventory. Goes to show that finding what works for you is key. Because you both are successful with completely different business models. Thanks for sharing.
Wow!!!!! 250,000!!!!! I love that Roger is a cabinet maker but uses a fold out table for his inventory😂 the cobblers kids… you two put a little hope back into the world with every video❤
hi karen, the four golden candleholders made in germany are for an „adventskranz“. we have these here in germany and you have a wreath of fir tree, decorate it as you like and put four candles in it and light a candle on the four sundays before christmas. sunday after sunday a new one together with the others. 🙋♀️
If you aren't familiar with advent candles, look it up. It's a wonderful tradition. Many Christian churches light the advent candles every Sunday before Christmas.
Your videos are my favorites...truth be told. It is because you are knowledgeable about your craft, so relatable and so kind!! I look forward to each video you make. Thank you again for all of your efforts to share your thrifting adventures with us.❤
The sooner Goodwill‘s understand that they have a symbiotic relationship with resellers, the better for both parties. You cannot ask eBay prices and expect that one person who’s a size 10 and wants that exact jacket to walk into your exact location. That’s where resellers come in. We go in purchase it at a good price and then resell it because our reach so broad. Otherwise, Goodwill is going to wind up through most of that in the landfill. What a tragedy.
It's not just resellers either. I shopped thrift stores to save money. I can't afford a lot of things because the prices have gone up so much. I use to get all my furniture ,clothes and household things and walk out with a full cart. Now I can only get a few things.
Absolutely! Additionally, my Goodwill does nothing to clean or condition the items and expects eBay pricing. Not going to happen. I will say they are using Hammoq to list online to overcome the issue you mention, and Hammoq uses AI which isn’t always correct. They are trying to squeeze us out for sure.
Just now watching this. After having seen that punchbowl, I thought, "Darnit, there has GOT to be something that can be done to repurpose all of these beautiful old glass/crystal punchbowls out in the world so I Googled it. Found the CUTEST idea ever! People getting old tall-ish vases, turning them upside down and then setting the punchbowl upside down on top of it. They do several in an area. Looks like a garden of glass mushrooms. Cute Cute!!
I’m obsessed with your channel. You are Roger are the cutest couple ever. Made for each other! Thanks for all your videos. Hardest worker I have ever seen and I love organization so I love to see all the behind the scenes!
Line punch bowl with any kind of pretty vegetation in your yard like palms or even hedge trimmings. The put a clear plastic or glass bowl inside your punch bowl filled with ice then set your salad bowl on top of ice and suddenly that large punch bowl doesn’t seem so large and your salad stays nice and chilled in a pretty glass punchbowl. When ice starts to melt easy to refill.
Hi Karen, loved seeing and hearing a little about Roger’s system, loved that he listed something before checking out of Goodwill lol! Also fascinated about his prepackaging of his items. We all do things that individually work for us! Plus over 250,000 items sold! How amazing! 🎉 Love your narrative process that you use while filming and choosing your hard good items when you shop Karen. Nice items you found today! Cheers, Pat
One thing that’s happened with Goodwill is so many people who have excess money now shop there. They drive prices up because they’re so willing to pay stupid prices. Goodwill is no longer for people who *need* to be thrifty. I try not to resent them for their money but they really have ruined it for regular lower-income people.
Thank you so much for sharing your life with us…. i’ve been home sick and then been binge watching since I have not been able to go out thrifty…..God bless You guys…..
Great video. I really do not understand what has happened to the Goodwills…… I know me personally rarely buy from them because the prices are just not there. If I was going to pay that high price then I would put a few dollars with it and buy it new. It is sad because the things are donated, the majority! Roger is definitely a sweetheart! So glad y’all found each other! Cannot wait to know how the bowls work out as well other items!!
Score! Karen great picks. I live in AZ where it's been 118° many days, 110° and over for over 3 weeks. But, I went yard selling, yep we are crazy fools here. Tell Roger at pravite warehouse selling a senior's items, there was about 2 dozen unopened milatery model airplanes. Origional prices $2.99 to $4.99. so they were old. They had them at $10 each or 5 for $40. I looked them up and they were selling for $35+. I wish I'd had the extra $$ to get them.
I believe the tea towel has exact translations of German phrases and the funny part is how their grammar differs from ours. Then when some German folk learn English, they carry over their grammar.
Roger should put massive inventory shelves all the way up on all the walls and sell the you picture🤣 Frog might be potpourri.. Yes the gold scalloped liners with the spikes are for holding round ball candles, those are drip guards.
I love you two!! Thank you both for being so kind with your knowledge and time. You are my favorite. I tried to watch other resellers, and I don't care for them. You both are great!
Goodwill here will charge more than the retail price. No color days, no veterans discount. Senior day only on Tuesday. I offered a friend to buy all her collectible glassware, instead she donated it to goodwill a for profit company. I showed her exactly what they were charging for the items…needless to say we aren’t that close anymore.
Our local thrift store does the same thing, they have employees look up items on eBay! I find it very unfair since eBay sellers pay a price and a commission when they sell and thrift stores get them for free and are a 501 or whatever meaning they don’t pay taxes.
I refuse to shop at Goodwill anymore. Every time I would go in there I would just get angry over the ridiculous prices & who wants to get angry when they’re shopping? Not me! 😊
Now you’re in my town! I’m not a reseller just a collector. Lol. I go to this store a couple of times a month. It’s a hit or miss. I do think Goodwill has upped their prices. My Joy Thrift store is my favorite. 💜👍
Goodwill shouldn't be charging prices that they see online, they have forgotten their mission. Moreover, until they process, clean, and measure items and merchandise their stores better, they shouldn't be charging the same price as resellers.
I am a small time reseller. I do not feel Goodwill or others need to price their items so I can make a profit. It is up to me to source items that have a good mark up or I can take a lower profit if I so choose. Or, just not buy the items in question.
@@jillgott6567 I am also a part-time reseller. My issue with Goodwill's pricing extends far beyond how it impacts resellers. It is too expensive for the people that need to shop secondhand, and more importantly, less than 25% of the profit at Goodwill, for example, actually goes to charity. You can research the exact statistics online. Salvation Army is another thrift store with a darker side. When you shop in that store, they often have a recording telling customers that proceeds from purchases do not go to charity. I opt to spend money at smaller local thrift stores so that I can reinvest in the community and so I can actually see what impact the donations and my purchasing have on my community.
I was told recently it is privately owned now; but, who knows. "Goodwill" starts out as a place to bring "Good Will" to their neighbors; and was generated from FREE "good will" Offerings of the public. Now they're trying to compete with department stores. 🥴
Mystery Christmas candle holders you put on Advent wreath and light one candle for each advent Sunday, on the Sunday on/before Christmas all 4 candles are lit. The candles are sold usually in 4 packs specifically for this tradition and are short and chunky 🤗
Pomander, flower frog, baking soda...I'll settle it once and for all..."Avon Flirtation Frog Ceramic Pomander" to freshen your linens and lingerie. I confirmed on original box 😂 🐸 You can pull his hat 👒 off too ! 😂
Great video! You can definitely use Medusa as a keyword since she was part of ancient Greek mythology - no one owns her name, and certainly not Versace!
the 4 metallic gold candle holders 'made in West Germany' are made before 1989 when we were still divided into DDR and W.Germany. After 1989 the German products are marked with 'made in Germany' - Karen, I like to watch your videos, actually I walk right behind you and often talk you into buying this or that.
I use a very large punch bowl as a potpourri bowl on my dining rom table. I think the cloth with sayings was Pennsylvania Dutch...."Throw the cow over the fence some hay.....
Oh my…couldn’t hear a word you said due to the song playing in the store. One of the best “Cruising” songs from high school. 😂. Crazy how music takes someone back to a time and place so strongly. Music and scents. LOVED that pin cushion lady figurine! And those bowls! I would’ve jumped up and down to find those so cheap….Some great finds for sure!
Thank you Roger for the tour. Love the open spaces. My inventory is crawling the walls. Friendly hugs to both of you. Wishing you well from Australia 😊
That beautiful punch bowl might not be a punch bowl there we no cups. Even though it would make a beautiful centerpiece. Picture at Christmas beautiful Christmas ornaments with mini lights. Just a thought. It is beautiful.
This administration has caused so much inflation that many people I know have started ahopping Goodwill for their needs. I started with just shopping for the grandson due to him growing so fast. What a PRO! Gads! 250.000!! There are better TRUE black out curtains on Ebay w solid backs. I have them all over my house, E-bay is where I got mine, the green bird ones all sizes, He'd have many design choices...
Looked like the wall pocket was sold at Winterthur… museum in Delaware right across the river from you. They have a great gift shop…. maybe the wall pocket is from the shop. Nice find!
Good morning from Anchorage, Alaska! Woke up ready and waiting for your video to start. Another balmy day here in the 70's, which feels like the 80's! Have a great day!🙂🤗💕🌷#Ak907
Karen, you've never explained why you don't like to pick up Bells. I think they're lovely and very collectible because they're small and often neatly decorated and can be put on a small shelf in the corner of the living room. Maybe I'm old-fashioned but I do tend to lean toward victorianna. Also I believe that a bell could be quite useful if one is ill, particularly if there are stairs to climb. Can you tell I'm speaking from my own experience! Well I don't collect Bells but I might start I have one beautiful Crystal bill that was my mother's I collect tea for one cups and pots. You don't see many of those in Goodwill. They're so pretty I got a friend interested in them as well. It's amazing how things catch on. I believe if you sold Bells people would start buying them. It's better than screaming across the house but more importantly it's a lovely display!
He got a good woman. You got a good man. The best of life is ahead. Congratulations!
You two are the coolest couple! You are so positive and fun and Roger seems like the kindest, soft spoken and funny man around! You both are blessed to have found each other! Congratulations and best of luck to you!
My Mom filled our large punchbowl with fruit and nuts on Thanksgiving...that's what we munched on waiting for dinner...great memories...💗
I just love how he looks at you. Again much happiness to you both. Watching now.
It was good to see how Roger pre-package his inventory. Goes to show that finding what works for you is key. Because you both are successful with completely different business models. Thanks for sharing.
Does Roger pre-wash his clothes too?
Wow!!!!! 250,000!!!!! I love that Roger is a cabinet maker but uses a fold out table for his inventory😂 the cobblers kids… you two put a little hope back into the world with every video❤
My father used to be a upholsterer.. our furniture was in terrible shape. Dad worked days until bed time to raise his family. ❤❤

Thanks so much ! Love you 😊
Love you right back ❤️
Thoroughly enjoy all of your videos. Roger needs to hire a 10-year-old to test the games. They’ll know exactly how it works. 😅
I use the punch bowls to serve a large group a beautiful salad on a buffet. It's beautiful and perfect!
I think the wood train/candle holder would be great for Christmas decor!
The little frog is for baking powder for the refrigeration! I think it is an Avon product to refresh your refrigerator🥰
How would one add the powder?
I have a penguin. ❤
Roger needs some shelving in his office. Love that he said the painting could be for sale lol.
That towel is actually what is considered “Pennsylvania Dutch” from the mixture of English and German for the Amish
Do we like a good video? Yes, we do!!! I always look forward to seeing your new videos! Thanks for taking me..us..with you shopping!!
Large punch bowls can be used as a salad serving bowl.
Roger is impressive. I say whatever his methods are they work. Thanks for the inspiration.
That's true Love. An organized person loving him while he is unorganized.
If I pre-packaged things like Roger does I'd be doubting myself constantly and ripping the bag open to be sure LOL!
I use and love Color Street on my nails! Those were a GREAT "steal"!! Thanks for "keeping me company" while I got some things done around the house :)
Try this:: put the custard bell under your black light!!! Let us know!!!! Some do not glow..... love your banter!!!!

I believe anything can sell
Many times I couldn’t buy because it is not my size
I really agree with your comment…it has to be a win-win for all👍🏻
Yep, we go to the Goodwill bins and they are loaded with over priced items that didn't sell
It's not just resellers either. I shopped thrift stores to save money. I can't afford a lot of things because the prices have gone up so much. I use to get all my furniture ,clothes and household things and walk out with a full cart. Now I can only get a few things.

I don’t do well with hard goods. I have a bad habit of keeping them for myself. They often never get listed. 🤪
Just now watching this. That adorable frog is for potpourri. It's vintage 1980 AVON. Selling for $35. Great find!!! I love her!!
Love seeing the love you share and it started with 2 resellers. You give me hope! Always Wishing you the best 👌
I use my punch bowl to put a beautiful bouquet of flowers in to set on my dining room table
Line punch bowl with any kind of pretty vegetation in your yard like palms or even hedge trimmings. Y’all are adorable. So supportive.
Roger's shipping method is crazy efficient. wow.

Good Morning Happy Newlyweds! I love when you show Roger and his E-bay stories. Thank you for sharing. I love watching y'all from Texas!!!!
Great video. I really do not understand what has happened to the Goodwills…… I know me personally rarely buy from them because the prices are just not there. Roger looks pretty organized!
You should carry a black light with you. If that Fenton bell glows it could bring good money.
Those nail polish strips do sell well. I would suggest looking up each color. Some are more sought after than others, and are more limited.
I think the small candleholders are for ball candles.
Frog is for potpourri, from Avon, probably from mid 80’s, I had one, mmm wonder where it is?! Lol
Love how you went out and got what’s yours Karen….Roger! (I’m still looking)
Your ceramic frog was made in 1980 for Avon. It is a pomander for potpourri.
I have a little frog like the one you put in your cart. The head comes off to put potpourri inside. I found mine at Goodwill. 😊
I love you two!! Thank you both for being so kind with your knowledge and time. You are my favorite. I tried to watch other resellers, and I don't care for them. You both are great!
I love punch bowls... They are fun centerpieces.... They will come back eventually.. I'm drawn to them too.
Those sayings are Pennsylvania Dutch, not specifically Amish. The pie is all means it's gone.
You could use the punch bowl as a fruit or salad bowl
Goodwill here will charge more than the retail price. No color days, no veterans discount. Senior day only on Tuesday. They have become too greedy ! They no longer honor THRIFT SHOP price any longer! So I go there less and buy from them less! I feel for the resellers.
I refuse to shop at Goodwill anymore. Every time I would go in there I would just get angry over the ridiculous prices & who wants to get angry when they’re shopping? Not me! 😊

For the wall pocket, try reptile hair style, thus wall pocket, ceramic, portrait with reptile hair!!! 💞💞🙃💞💞
Pomander, flower frog, baking soda...I'll settle it once and for all..."Avon Flirtation Frog Ceramic Pomander" to freshen your linens and lingerie. I confirmed on original box 😂 🐸 You can pull his hat 👒 off too ! 😂
Hi Karen, I loved your video. Greetings from Cape Town South Africa 🇿🇦.
For the wood rings I've watched decoration shows and that color of wood is trending in my opinion.
Great video! You can definitely use Medusa as a keyword since she was part of ancient Greek mythology - no one owns her name, and certainly not Versace!

I use a very large punch bowl as a potpourri bowl on my dining rom table. I think the cloth with sayings was Pennsylvania Dutch...."Throw the cow over the fence some hay.....
No, no, no u always pick up Fenton, bells normally don't sell well, but Fenton makes all the difference, custard ware Also a plus!!! 💞💞🙃💞💞
Glad you took that Fenton bell and the Pennsylvania Dutch towel!
I bet that Fenton bell glows under a black light.
I showed a photo of it!
Oh my…couldn’t hear a word you said due to the song playing in the store. One of the best “Cruising” songs from high school. 😂. Crazy how music takes someone back to a time and place so strongly. So much knowledge! Love your channel ❤️
Most of the acquaintances I have don’t know I studied on glass and antiques for many years.
Love that tea towel! It is so sweet!!!
Frog is for powder fresh smell in closet or drawer
The punch bowls are great at Christmas with ornaments in them.
I love putting Christmas lights in them!!
I like that they put things in baggies instead of taping them together, such as lids on sugar bowls, etc
Now I am shopping for my needs. After realizing my daughter has so many needs, that I have shopped there for her.
If you have your booth. Put in your booth! Love watching your videos
The little frog is a pomander. Her hat comes off.
I am glad you did well with the Royal Bank of Canada hats. I wondered if they would in the USA. Out of curiosity, did they come back to Canada? My husband was an investment banker before he retired, and a hat like that at a corporate event would have been great. Banks have a lot of fundraising activities for charities they support, in the summer. I don't know if banks in the USA do that kind of thing.
The candle train might be kinda cute on a mantel as Christmas time. Someone is going to like it.
Omg I’ve only sold 22 things!!Roger my hero
What a PRO! Gads! 250.000!! There are better TRUE black out curtains on Ebay w solid backs. I have them all over my house, E-bay is where I got mine, the green bird ones all sizes, He'd have many design choices...
I use those nail wraps and they last about a week and help my nails grow out. Protection
The tea cup and saucer sets are Adams English China “Lancaster”
you can go have those old timey photos done at like amusement parks ... they give you the clothes to wear and then they put you in a setting
The shorter punch bowl would be a great under plate for a pretty planter
Aw AVON FROG ..i use to collect frogs ....& she holds powder, potpourri smell goods.. But she could have differences uses
Looked like the wall pocket was sold at Winterthur… museum in Delaware right across the river from you. They have a great gift shop…. maybe the wall pocket is from the shop. Nice find!
As always.... thank for the great tips!!
Back in the 70’s my mom “borrowed” a coffee cup with the green rings that matched the bowls you were looking at. Of course from a restaurant…
Good day to you, I enjoy your videos so much. Question: are older vintage photographs worth much?
Thank you❤
You are learning your glass !!!
Flower frog I am assuming since hat pin holders usually are deeper and longer but could be for hats pins
I think punch bowls can be repurposed: big chip bowl, or put ice in it with another bowl on top to keep food cool.
I like broad daylight for my photos! Nothing better. I find all artificial light changes the look of the colors!
You don't see many of those in Goodwill. They're so pretty I got a friend interested in them as well. It's amazing how things catch on. I believe if you sold Bells people would start buying them. It's better than screaming across the house but more importantly it's a lovely display!
I love the Amish tea towel!!!!
And I'm local to you!!!!
😊
