@@torbenjohansen6955 "Human. Nature." was released April 10th 2020, not in January. I remember it because the pandemic was global by then and they released all songs for free here in YT, including a playlist with all songs in order.
Arguable, while I don't deny they have improved technically since then, particularly Floor has improved a lot technically during the making of the latest album. I personally think this was their peak live performance (so far) as performers, the energy level, their voice quality, production, the excitement of having Floor replace Anette back to more metal direction and how well everything just aligned for Wacken 2013

I always recommend the following trio all from Wacken 2013; 'Ever Dream', 'Storytime', and 'Song of Myself'. They' will showcase both already familiar as well as new sides to Floor's amazing vocal range and stylistic range.

Ghost Love Score is the song that made me fall in love with Floor. I haven't found another singer, or band like it since. They've completely captured me like no other band has. So much so, that I HAD to see them live... On my own. Worth it.

@@TiaHope Nerve racking at first, a bit boring during the wait between bands. Good side, is that I was able to meet someone who posted in a FB group we were both in. So I basically met and stayed with a stranger for the rest of the evening. It was great.
This performance is pure energy. Floor's and Marco's duet at the end is mind blowing. The message is like a suicide of a romance, whatever it might mean. Greetings from Finland!

We use it because it's appropriate since she is Dutch. I know that that word has been used for ages in metal music. Even though here in Sweden it's never used at all. Almost never any way. We use it bacause it's called winmill not because Floor is dutch, headbanging is a general word for shaking your hair, mostly just back and forth, when you make a circle with your hair when you're headbanging it's a windmiil. When Tuomas or Tatiana from Jinjer or anyone else windmills it's still called windmilling, doesn't matter where they're from.
Every NightWish song is worth hearing so work your way through this Wacken show then onto Wembley, then Tampere and Buenos Aires - it's all awesome 🤘

Nice reaction! You have some good ears. Most reactors who have not seen Marco sing before. Usually after only having seen 'Ghost Love Score'. Don't pick up that Marco is singing harmony with Floor until much later in the song!

Romanticide was a good choise. Everdream is great so is GLS, Wacken 2013 is a great concert from start to Finnish. LOL
About pronunciation. It is not dangerous to mispronounce. People will help you with it, Google translate too. Finnish names are difficult. You'll see. But do not hesitate to try. Drums Jukka Nevalainen, guitar Emppu (officially Erno) Vuorinen, keys Tuomas Holopainen, bass and vocals Marko Hietala, Floor Jansen vocals (Dutch), Troy Donockley multi-instrumentalist (UK).
I love you appreciated how good Marko and Floor sound together. More of that coming. And the chemistry between the band members. They really love performing together.

When it comes to music big events, festivals are cancelled. But I've attended a few gigs already. Steve 'n' Seagulls was fantastic!!! Check them out! Their AC/DC "Thunderstruck" cover has over 100M views on YT. They are from Finland. Skillful and funny at the same time.

Hey, great reaction! I love the pure joy when you hear Nightwish. I'm usually sitting in my livingroom pumping my fists and smiling like a fool until the dogs come running and wonder what's going on.
You nailed it Vahken! You are so much fun to watch experience Nightwish songs for the first time. It makes me feel like the first time I saw and heard these songs. Music is such a personal thing, as in all artistic creations. However, every form of art especially music is so much better when you listen as a group. Two people or thousands. It just makes you feel like you are not the only one to have these emotional reactions in a bubble. I loved your reaction to this great song. Also love your ink. When you see more recent live videos of Nightwish and Floor, you will see all of the ink Floor has added to her arms over the last couple of years. Perfect choice! I figured you would like this, as you said you like that "chugging" sound. You should check out "Song of Myself" as well. Fun fact: You can tell the time period of Floor era performances by Floor's "tattoo level". Here, being this is at the beginning of Floor's Nightwish tenure, I'd say she is as tat level #1 . :)

Welcome to your second stop of a probably long, surprising always awesome Nightwish journey. Here are some suggestions for your next stops:
-> Ghost Love Score (Wacken 2013): THE "traditional first song" to get into Nightwish. Floor is showing diferent capabilities and you can get a first understanding of Tuomas capability of songwriting
-> There are a couple of great songs from Wacken: „Story Time“ and "Ever Dream" are catchy in a very positive way. "Song of Myself" starts catchy and ends with everyone headbanging. "Last Ride of the Day" and "Ghostriver" are the heavier ones.
-> "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean" (Buenos Aires) will give you a metal and power blast: Maximum speed and Marco (the singing bass player) becomes Hannibal Lecter ;-)
-> "Yours an Empty Hope" from Wembley (have a good look!! at the growls. You'll be surprised.)
-> „Dead Boys Poem“ from Buenos Aires (so amazing and emotional)
-> „Weak Fantasy“ (Tampere): Kai the beastat the drums, Troy joins in, great duets with Floor and Marco, …
-> Elvenjig / Elvenpath (Buenos Aires): Awesome intro and it continues on that level
-> "The greatest Show on Earth" (Tampere) is one of the two most epic songs. The title is not about the gig, but about the topic of the song: The evolution of mankind.
-> "The Poet and the Pendulum“ (Wembley) is my personal absolute masterpiece of Nightwish. Be sure to know the background of this song ahead (short version see below *)

From the new album there are for obvious reasons no live sessions so far. For all songs there are lyric videos, except for „Noise". But maybe you'll give some songs a try as well. It's an awesome album. Definitely not an "easy" one with a lot of really unique songs, different from what is "typical" for Nightwish. Floor said that she was really challenged to sing the songs that Tuomas wrote for her. Knowing her abilities, you can imagine that they are "special“. „
-->"Noise" is probably the most "typical" song and the only one with "real video". The video is great as the song itself
--> "Tribal" is the heaviest one and Kai, the drummer, had to change his normal setup to be able to play it.
--> "Shoemaker" (about Eugene Shoemaker) is such a heavenly and epic song with the possible epic ending.
-> „Pan“ is just an amazing ride. When it starts you for a moment think you‘re listening to Floors husbands band „Sabaton“. In the song you‘ll be reminded to „Tribal“ and „Noise“.
-> Procession“ a rather calm song with so amazing vocals by Floor
--> "Harvest" is so different with Troy singing, that you will wonder if you're listening to Nightwish.
-> „Endlessness“ is Marcos song and shows his great voice.
--> "Music", „How's the Heart", ... are really cool songs as well. Of course.
The album challenged Floor as singer, which is not easy to do, as she is one of the best and most versatile singers in the world.

If you'd like to Explore Floor on her own:
Beste Zangers Just in case (which I can really recommend) you're going to do "Beste Zangers" make sure you take the clips posted by "jenniezelf" on RUclips as she has also included the talking / interviews before and after with english subtitles. The concept of the show is, that on one day all singers sing a song for one of them.
It's a song that is by that singer or a song that means a lot for him / her. So it is very interesting to get to know the story behind each song. And it will help to understand the reactions of the other singers. Floor is singing there in German, Dutch, Spanis and English. Her "Phanom of the Opera" duet with Henk Poort is legendary.

* Backstory for „Poet and the Pendulum“
Tuomas (the keyboarder and songwriter) was in depression after the split from their first singer Tarja. He was in the position to either commit suicide in real real life or to write a song about it and die within that song. Luckily he choose the latter option. He is the poet, "killed" by the pendulum. And afterwards there is darkness, silence and just a fading heartbeat. It gives me a shiver every time.
As this song is so emotional for him all the others have an eye on him. He even had his the vocals turned off in his in ears.

I agree with your thoughts, but I would say for Buenos Aires you should watch the 2012 show (more and better emotions from Floor and the band, and that's where they heard her hitting some of her amazing notes first); however, any song that was sung at Wacken 2013 is far better (just one of the BEST performances, start to finish, I've ever seen or watched).
As far as Beste Zengers, Floor gave an amazing performance but I would still give Tarja a slight edge on anything purely opera related (Floor is the more talented multi-dimensional singer, but Tarja has amazing deep and profound operatic sound - her specialty). Also, while Hank was a very good opera singer, he fell a little flat in my opinion when he tried to emulate the way Marco sang it (sorry my man, but Marco Hietala you are not). For the ultimate Phantom of the Opera experience, watch "End of an Era" version (2005) with Tarja and Marco.

That thing Floor does with her head, since she’s from The Netherlands, is the “Dutch windmill.” Most people start Nightwish with Ghost Love Score ( glad you did something different) because it shows off the many facets of Floor’s voice, but you’ll get that regardless as you go through the songs. In addition to that one and Everdream, which you mentioned, you also need to listen to Storytime, Song of Myself, and I Want My Tears Back...all of the above from the same Wacken 2013 show. Then, from the Wembley show Shudder Before the Beautiful and The Poet and the Pendulum. From the Tampere show The Greatest Show on Earth ( it lives up to its title) and The Islander. From the Buenos Aires show The Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean.

Always go with whatever is 'calling' to you. :) You witnessed the perfect metal 'slide'! Drummers are awesome & NW is blessed there! As I'm sure others have already mentioned, Tuomas (keys) is the main writer & the composer in the band (Marco, bassist, writes too)... wait 'til you really get into some of the lyrics and genius behind many songs.
This is also high on my favorite nightwish song choice. The harmony between Floor and Marco,the tight drimming guitar,bass riffs,the backing of the organs just meld into a well put together and performed song. Great reaction,good to see another nightwish army recruit being inducted into our ranks.

Yes they are amazing but I would absolutely love to see some reaction YTers reacting to Iced Earth (Specifically Travel in Stygian live in athens with Matt Barlow). He has such an amazing voice! Hi again, Tia. I love d the way you were laughing and enjoying every second of that performance. Your smile said it all. This band doesn't seize to amaze, they are such a tight and talented group of musicians... and Floor... well, you heard her first hand, but there is so much more in store for you. She has the head voice (opera), chest voice (grit & growl) soft voice (soft) and mixed voice (like in "Yours Is An Empty Hope") Floor Jansen was trained in opera and she teaches it and is a vocal coach as well. Grew up listening to Henk Poort, a professional opera singer who has played the part of the "Dutch" Phantom of the Opera which coincidentally, they performed together in a TV show called Beste Zangers in December 2019 in the season finale. I just subbed!! Keep enjoying this Nightwish experience and keep those reactions coming. 😊❤

What you just witnessed is colloquially called a "Floorgasm."
Sadly you will not see Jukka on the drums again, he was really ill with chronic insomnia and had to step back, but he is the bands CEO now, later stuff you'll see Kai Hato, a very close friend of Jukka and chosen by him as the replacement.

Jukka is a beast on drums. He shifted to Nightwish management for heath reasons but Kai Hahto is a very appropriate replacement. Have a look at Jukka and the lads (with Anette) in the Nightwish movie "Imaginaerum"! These guys are special. The Symphonic Metal allows them to take their music just about anywhere. The long epic multipart full production style songs, Like "Ghost Love Score". "The Poet and the Pendulum" or "The Greatest Show on Earth".. the moer classic thrash heavy metal style songs like "Romanticide", Song of Myself" or "Dark Chest of Wonders", and just about everything in between like Storytime or Ever Dream,, They even have a more celtic rock style sound in songs like "E'lan" or "Wish I had an Angel". Take your choice, the Nightwish Army loves it all.

WELCOME TO THE NIGHTWISH ARMY. AND WELCOME TO THE PHENOMENON THAT IS THE GENRE OF SYMPHONIC METAL.
This was the Wacken Open Air Festival Concert back in 2013, and there were over 82,000 people at this concert.
Nightwish is a Symphonic Metal Band, and a majority of the band members are from Finland. The current Lead Singer is from the Netherlands, and the woodwinds player is from England.
CURRENT BAND MEMBERS
• Tuomas Holopainen - keyboards, piano, is the primary musical composer for all arrangements Is also who formed the band, and is the leader of the group.
• Emppu Vuorinen - All guitars (been with the band since its inception)
• Marco Hietala - bass, male vocals, acoustic guitar (is Nightwish Second Bass player, and has been with them since 2001.)
• Troy Donockley - uilleann pipes, tin whistle, low whistle, guitars, bouzouki, bodhrán, backing vocals
• Floor Jansen - lead vocals (Floor is Nightwish current and THIRD Lead Singer)
• Kai Hahto - drums (NOT APART OF THE BAND YET WHEN THIS CONCERT WAS FILMED - Kai was hand picked by the groups original drummer Jukka Nevalainen to replace him when he had to stepped down for medical reasons listed below. Kai is a personal friend of Jukka’s)

• Jukka Nevalainen - drums ( original drummer from 1997-2014 and is who you see playing drums in this concert at the Wacken Open Air Festioval Show from 2013. He had to step down for severe medial reasons, and handpicked his replacement. Jukka nearly died from a period of 2 straight years of severe insomnia, and had to be hospitalized because of it. Even though he stepped down as drummer, according to Toumas, he is the Bands MANAGER now. That is awesome I think. So he is still very much a part of Nightwish.)

SO WHAT STYLE OF MUSIC ACTUALLY IS NIGHTWISH????
Nightwish is actually one of the groups credited with the creation of the Metal Sub-genre of Symphonic Metal (according to Wikipedia!). Symphonic Metal in general only borrows the hard driving double kick drums, and the hard grungy style guitars and bass from Metal. However, in SYMPHONIC METAL the guitar is not the primary focal point, it is in fact the keyboards and their movie-scorish sounding orchestral sound. The keyboard player Tuomas Holopainen is the composer of all of the music arrangements and is the actual leader of the group. He is a personal huge lover of movie scores, which is where a lot of the movie-scorish style sound of the keyboards comes from (which is the primary focal point of Nightwish’s music instrumentally). When Symphonic Metal first started the female singers ALL used an operatic style of singing, but as the Genre has evolved over the last 20+ years since Nightwish came long when they released their FIRST album back in 1996, they have adopted more of a contemporary style of singing like Floor uses currently. Also 90-95% of all Symphonic Metal bands are all female fronted. Currently only Kamelot and a hand full of other Symphonic Metal bands even have male singers, and they are normally referred to as Symphonic Power Metal. The female fronted bands are the ones usually referred to over in Europe as ‘Symphonic Metal’. The most popular being Nightwish, Within Temptation, Epica, and Delain.
Floor Jansen is the current Lead Singer who you see in this Concert and she is from the Netherlands. Keep in mind when Floor did this concert (Wacken Open Air in 2013), she had not been with Nightwish for very long, she was actually a FILL-IN for this particular tour. Nightwish was in the middle of the Imaginearum World Tour when they parted ways with their SECOND Lead Singer Anette Olzen (from Sweden), and Tuomas (pronounced as Too-oh-mas) called Floor and asked her if she could learn their entire set list in 48 hours and then fill-in for them for the rest of the tour. Within the NEXT THIRTY DAYS, the band posted their first Official Live Performance video since they fired their first lead singer Tarja Turunen at the end of November 2005. During Anette's entire tenure with the band, Nightwish did not post ONE single solitary live performance video on their official RUclips channel. Hmmm? Curious?
At the end of this Imaginearum World Tour (just a few months later!), around Christmas time (As Floor tells the story in an interview) the Band pulled both Floor Jansen and Troy Donokley aside and asked them to be official members of the band. Floor said both her and Troy both had tears in their eyes. Troy had been a guest musician with the band on such videos like The Islander, but never an official member of the band. The rest as they say ... is history.
I would very much like to see you react to the following songs:
1. Ghost Love Score - This is the best song to be introduced to Nightwish with, and I would do it from this Wacken Open Air Festival in 2013.
2. Ever Dream - my absolute all-time favorite Nightwish song. The most high energy song they’ve ever done in my opinion. I would do this one from either this concert which is Wacken Open Air Festival in 2013, or the WEMBLEY ARENA CONCERT in Dec of 2015.
3. Nemo - (Nemo is from a Latin word which means no one or nobody. This song is about a time in Toumas life when he felt his direction in life was aimless, and without real direction. It’s an awesome song and a HUGE favorite of long time fans. This song was originally written during the Tarja Era). I would do this one from the WEMBLEY ARENA CONCERT in Dec of 2015.
4. Yours Is An Empty Hope - (Maybe do this one from the Tampere Finland Show from July of 2015. But be prepared because behind Marco (the Bass players) vocals on the chorus, is Floor GROWLING, yes you read it right. She can ACTUALLY really do everything!).

There are songs of them that not many recommend for reaction like "Sleeping sun" official video with their first singer Tarja and "Bless the Child" official video with Tarja as well. I personally love this two songs. "Sleeping sun" I honestly think that is the best metal ballad on youtube. "The Siren" is another great song. All this 3 songs a very operatic. "The poet and the pendulum " is an emotional roallcoaster if you know the story behind it. "The greatest show on earth" is the story of creation, evolution and life in one song, a complete masterpiece. You should also check: "Song of myself", "Romanticide" and "Master passion greed" this songs are heavy. Another amazing songs are: "Ever dream", "Ghost river" , "7 Days to the wolves" , "Storytime" ," Deep silent complete", "Wishmaster" , The Islander", "I wish I had an angel" , "While your lips are still red", " Last ride of the day", "I want my tears back" , "Shudder before the Beautiful", "Dark chest of wonders", "She is my Sin" Nightwish also made a Pink Floyd cover "High Hopes" with Marco (the bassist) singing that I strongly recommend. And in top of their performance is "The phantom of the Opera" this particular song will turn your world upside down.
