    Thank you for this. I haven't gone out because I'm afraid people will make fun of me. Now that I see you just do it in your garage or whatnot I think I will head on out and say screw what others have to say. This looks fun.

    i tried the "gutter sluice" last year and found out that i couldnt use it for longer than a buckets worth. because the black plastic wears down and i would begin to get little black pieces of debris in my results. so i changed over to an aluminum dryer exhaust tube.

    I found some corregated tubing and am now going to make my gutter sluice! I found 4" and 8" tubing... I've been busy designing an RC boat that uses my bildge pump to move around the lake n streams. Homemade sluices are great projects... LOL a boat... I should be finding the gold, but I couldn't resist.

    put some expanded metal in the pipe and youll have a mighty fine clean up sluice

    Yeah I need to get me some mat to try. I'm running off of a mower battery now. I'll always have my car battery for the field. A jump box would work good as well... Unless you have a solar panel to send my way!
    Thanks for watching

    1 ever try a flat drain pipe works great alot more wash area.
    2.you use two round pipes like yours side by side as well... cheap fun

    If you like these types of sluices, you must head over to my channel for a sec, and check out the progress of my double barrel all i one gold class sluice. Use it in the creek, in a recirculating setup, as a top deck classifier that runs into another sluice, take out the classifying screen, and it becomes a clean up sluice after initial cleanup. Add vibration and it sends gold to the bottom, use bigger corrugated tubing that have deeper riffles, put them side by side with a feeder. Move material fast, get more concentrates, forget time consuming traditional cleanups with having to remove riffles, screen, and moss.

    There is a guy on here that makes all sorts of slingshots including some multi fire ones.
    All you need is a knife and some sand paper.
    I use theraband gold for rubber and purchase my pouches.
    Slingshots can pack a wallop.

    How efficient would you say that is compared to a regular sluice?? Is there a specific size for this? Or for the riffles?? Could i et any size gutter sluice? I wanna make one

      Any one from a hardware store works!! Got mine for 5$ CAD now I'm just trying to find the right angle for this thing lol

    • @daveparks2676
      @daveparks2676 Год назад

      Just about any angle will work . I have had them at a pretty steep one . Think the steeper the better. I also found that the 6 " was the best . And if you have any color farther down than maybe 8 " slow the water down a tad .

    • @daveparks2676
      @daveparks2676 Год назад

      Also tried a vibrator 8:09 from a recliner . A little harsh . A bat powered one from one of the first
      white ones worked the best . Worked great ! They are just slow . so plan on some time to a 5 gal bucket . Had mine 3' long They are worth the time to make one . I just happened to see a farmer I knew and ask if I could cut one of his drain pipes in half . So mine was free. Lol used the 3 " deck screw in three places one each side to hold it on the board . Foud that was better then right in the middle.
      Hope all gobbledygook makes sense to everyone . Lmmo

    Your pump ever get clogged up? That's the main thing that slows me down, I have it recycling into a square tub, and in the middle I have a screen where the pump is on the other side. But then material starts to jamb up on the screen, there is no easy fix.

    I just made a gutter Sluice , but here in wast Australia, you are not allowed to use a powered pump, only a hand driven pump or Gravity water feed. no power tool to be used for prospecting

    The poop tube works great but you will find it will miss alot of small specks of gold.However,it will get 90% of the gold out fairly quickly.Great video TYVM:)

    instead of using car battery get your self a 5w or a 10 watt solar pannel and a lawn mower battery or a motorcycle battery and and you can set up at camp or home and save on electric i made a cleanup sluice like the tom@perry one out of plastic gutter and some black mat work wonders i will have to do a video of it as soon as it gets back over 30F too cold to play in the water for me lol

    hey cool slingshot!!! i was totally going to make those for xmas but didn't.... I use bicycle tubes for the rubber, and have leather for the rock launcher. I've been trying to build a semi automatic rock launcher for years.... =))) I think we'd make good neighbors...

    Looks good! But why use a pump when you can just use the river nature provides for free!

    • @shucksful
      @shucksful 3 года назад

      He explained the reason at the beginning of the video. He lives too far from the river to be driving there everyday, so he does it in the garage with a pump.
