This has got to be one of our greatest hacks on making a DIY Sluice box at home for under $20 bucks and with the newest feature you won't lode any Gold. We call it the Poop Tube Sluice Box and if you know of any improvements, we can make on it then just leave them comments down below, we would love to hear them. and if you want to see another fun and innovative hack we made on the common gold pan, just watch this video ruclips.net/video/bu3bYdcBYAk/видео.html

You replace your pan for adding the water with a hand bailer marine bilge pump. Lightweight and pumps a lot of water. So if you haul in your own water, you won't need a battery and a pump. And you still obtain a good flow and for our Canadian friends, you can run a sluse box without being in violation of logs&frogs. No sediment is going back into the river. Great hack Jeff. Just wait until the comments come in. There's going to be some awesome tweaks to add! Thanks for the video Jeff and Lila. These are always as much fun as they are informative.

@@pepepepito623 - Non-perforated drain pipe works very well for capturing gold. So well in fact, that they can be hard to clean out sometimes. I was always amazed at how I had to tip my drain pipe sluice to vertical to actually get all of the gold out. Shark's teeth, well, that's not gold.

Great video Jeff. A raised 5 gallon bucket water reservoir with a 1/2 inch fitting at the bottom would deliver approximately 1 minute of flowing water, hands free. This frees up hands to scoop material. Or, use a ball valve, and have a 3/4 inch hole for 30-40 seconds of water flow. Great idea, would love to see more gold hacks from you such as this : )

Made one of those once and found that cleaning it was a bit of a pain. Solution I found was to take a piece of flat-bottom gutter and roll the corrugated into it to rinse out. The corrugated sprays easily into the gutter when on its side, then the gutter runs the cons out smoothly. Make sure to leave a lip over your joint where you tab them together with the rivets so it washed over the gap.

Do you think it would catch more tiny gold sand if you sand the inside of all the grooves moving the sand paper side to side in that homemade sluice box? I saw some prospectors sand their gold pans to give them a rough surface to catch more tiny gold pieces.

Been using one for 20 years, they make the best drop riffle/classifier, your using the wrong tube though, no holes its also solid. just cut it in half

I live in a “non gold producing district “ NEPA , so I’m a little crazy and dig holes in my yard with my Excavator cause it has things I’ve never seen anywhere else , lots of white clay and ancient river gravels unlike I’ve ever seen . But I find this brick red rock so filled with mica or something sparkly with tight grains , what’s weird is it’s tan exterior not red on outside so it turns tan & black from oxidation I believe , but so deep red and full of shiny flakes of mica maybe idk . Just wonder what it is ? Brick red color with like white quartz chunks in it . Hematite? But I panned some other stuff last night and found a bunch of little Gold last night , it’s so fun to just mess around . God I wish I can find chunks of gold like that here lol

We use an 8 foot section of the same style but much larger drainage pipe as a shovel in sluice. Will take as much material as two guys can shovel, no classifier needed in most water flows.
