Yes sir, I have. Couple of places. In fact I mentioned this yesterday in another video of yours. Oxidation *usually* makes recovery easier. But that is not always the case. In some instances the gold may be more accessible, but the waste product can make it far more expensive than you may have first thought. Because when you break down the sulphides, simple or complex, you also break down the other metals present. It isn't just iron or copper or sulfur. Tellurium, manganese, molybdenum, arsenic, cadmium, vanadium, mercury, uranium (yes, seriously), if it forms in nature, it can be there. And when you break it down to the red goop that is now the liquid limonite, you have all of the petals that are present now in small enough size that your body will absorb it. And that is where you stand to get really really ill, it it could be long term.

I lived in Las Vegas and loved to hike around the desert there.
Watching your videos made me feel like a tracker. I suddenly saw all those signs of seams and faults, signs of digging and piles.
It really opened my eyes and made those hikes so much more interesting. Like walking through a crime scene.
I also started paying attention to the other hikers, noticing some of those folks with backpacks had rock hammers on their belt.
The geology of the Southwest is just fascinating.

At my gold claim I have limonite cubes in the creek and my understanding is the cubes used to be pyrite but then turned to limonite. They are pretty cool to find and i have ones up to a inch in size. I also tend to find the best gold in the creek where I find largest cubes. I have a video with a thumbnail of these cubes I find if you're interested. And as always thanks for the great content!!

Jeff brings up a couple of interesting points in this video: (1) What may have been economically unfeasible in the past may be feasible now or in the future as prices change; and (2) BLM seems to play favorites contrary to free-market principles. In his book Basic Economics, Fifth Edition: A Common Sense Guide to the Economy, Thomas Sowell dispels the myth of mineral and petroleum shortages. There are only shortages at current prices. As prices rise, it pays to exploit previously unprofitable deposits and to look for new ones. This applies to gold. As for the second point, Big Mining and BLM often seem to be in cahoots such that scarce resources that could be exploited efficiently now by small-scale miners are bulldozed shut or barred off. Maybe someone should drop a bug in Elon Musk's ear.

I am starting to learn my geology, thanks to Mr Heffy. I have green Liminote close to my backyard. Northern Nevader. Olive 🫒 green color. Have to take a hammer to it. Searching for a way to teach Scout how to sniff Au. deposits. He is confused, he thought I instructed him to sniff out 🐇 rabbits. Second edit ✍️ here….. my Au is in wire form.

As soon as I saw the Joshua trees I knew you were basically in your backyard. For you new people Jeff's back yard is he steps out side and has 4 directions pick one he's headed there. That's his back yard. Lol❤ remember everybody in the gold fields knows him. You CANNOT trespass. Watch where you go. Another sign is look for white PVC pipe if it's not fenced. White PVC pipe is the chosen place by most claim owners to mark their claims.
