Mega, concentrates are what is left over in the sluice, highbanker or whatever tool you are using to run your material through. The lighter material gets washed or blown away and the heavier materials (gold, black sand, etc...) are left, those are called the "concentrates". You must then separate the gold from the rest of the concentrates, be it through a spiral wheel, a gold cube or panning.
If you like these types of sluices, you must head over to my channel for a sec, and check out the progress of my double barrel all i one gold class sluice. Use it in the creek, in a recirculating setup, as a top deck classifier that runs into another sluice, take out the classifying screen, and it becomes a clean up sluice after initial cleanup. Add vibration and it sends gold to the bottom, use bigger corrugated tubing that have deeper riffles, put them side by side with a feeder. Move material fast, get more concentrates, forget time consuming traditional cleanups with having to remove riffles, screen, and moss. Come see my progress =D
Just out of curiosity, where did the decomposing granite come from? Any suggestions for a beginner also living in Kansas regarding a decent place to prospect?
Rolling Meadows Landscaping...they're out though. Go North to prospect. North of the Kansas River at least. The further the better. Look us up if you need any equipment!
Thanks Grouupthing71....sorry for the non-reply on this. Not intended. Perhaps he's curious about purchasing some Paydirt. Any one have any suggestions on Paydirt? I have bought Tom & Perry's Paydirt as well as another outfit out of the Phoenix area. Tom and Perry's was overloaded with mica, which just got in the way. Either way, "paydirt is a good way to learn how to pan!
I bought pay-dirt sacks of concentrate at conventions before and they usually panned out real nice and have been worth the price.www.eurekajoes.com offers pay-dirt concentrates online and is featured in ads in "lost Treasure" magazine. That being said I've never bought any of his sacks. Gold is where you find it!
