@@allansgoldmining That's amazing, it is a good and cost effective design, no wonder why it would be so popular. Due to high silt content in that clay, the feed rate needs to be reduced to give time for the dewatering trommel to catch up.

I'd say you have done everything right. Recovery using water is much more efficient than dry washing. Electric motors are more efficient and reliable than gas engines. The tailings is where the gold is at because over the years the oversize that went through the old timers dry washers has been broken down by weathering. Nice design of equipment. My guess is that you had years of experience prior to this project or you did a lot of research. I have run a larger battery/solar trammel for over ten years, it is the only way to go. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for the kind compliments Steve ! It takes more effort to set up, but "going wet" is definitely the way to go. You are correct regarding the tailings. Most of the good gold is on the surface and easy diggings. I have a theory that the bedrock material was the last thing they processed, which naturally would be on top of the pile. They also never had the convenience of a gas powered shop vac to suck up the bedrock crevasse. Finding lots of good "pickers" down there ! I've been a lode and placer miner for over 35 years as a hobby. I also build model airplanes and telescopes. Hope you've been successful with your wash plant over the years, and wish you good luck in your prospecting adventures !

Thanks Jeff. Much appreciated ! Check out my Trommel Build series. Step by step construction ideas. Best to you on your build, and good luck prospecting !! 👍👍👍
Great video Allan. Very unique design the way you are filtering the water through the bottom trommel. !/2 gram per yard is fairly meager unless you're able to crank out the yardage. The part I wouldn't like about reprocessing tailings is that there is little likelihood of ever hitting a nice nug. The nice part about it is the digging is much easier than virgin material. Maybe you'll find a nice stretch of unworked bedrock full of big stuff. Nice work. Keep it up!
Thanks for the kind compliments Nick ! it's amazing what the old timers left behind. Can only imagine the nice nuggets they found. However, they did a poor job cleaning bedrock. My shop vac takes total advantage of this. Finding nice pickers in the cracks ! Eventually, I'll find virgin ground. Best wishes in your prospecting adventures !
Most parts can be found in hardware store or online. Please watch my trommel build series. On the 2nd and 3rd video, I have a supply list at the end. Perhaps some items might not be available in your country, however, you might be able to modify the design to suit your needs. Best of luck to you ! 🤠⚒️⛏️👍
I will forward the videos and reply to my cousin. We want to start washing tailings for gold alongside the buying and selling business. Thank you so much for the valuable information@@allansgoldmining
Hi Allan, I really liked your set up. A few years ago I thought I would love to be doing what you are doing, it looks like fun work with a chance of a Jackpot. It beats setting at home on your butt. Your equipment is well designed and except for your water trailer it doesn't look like you have a lot invested. Although you would never see it, but being born under the sign of Aries I can be a very impatient person, so the panning would be work for me. LOL A few years ago I came across a built gold reclaim machine called "The Gold Lab". All the parts including the battery fit into a plastic tote. Once you classified the pay the machine did all the work. I did go back to their website and it looks like there hasn't been much activity in several months. I could see this machine going hand in hand with your machine. Plus 'The Gold Lab' doesn't use much water. If you haven't seen the video's on 'The Gold Lab', you might enjoy watching how they had designed the machine. They said it caught all the gold including the 'flower gold'. Take care and be well. The Best of Luck. Bill
Hi Bill. Thanks for the compliments and ideas. I checked out the Gold Lab videos. Quite an interesting set-up for feeding a Blue Bowl. Normally, I pan the sluice cons with a Fossicker Maverick Pan (sold by Snake River Products) which makes quick work of ridding the light stuff. From there, I classify the cons into 20, 40, 60 mesh, then feed into the Blue Bowl. So much easier than panning all those fines ! The panning in the video was for demonstration only. Wish you good luck in your prospecting adventures !
Awesome set up bro. All you need is a Renogy 100 watts 12 volts monocrystalline foldable solar suitcase hooked up to those batteries to keep them in good working order for endless run times. Best of luck to you.
Thanks Joe ! Yeah, I've been thinking about something like that. Also considering a wind generator. Currently, the two deep cycles give me about 7 hours of power. By then I'm tired shoveling ! LOL ! Good luck with your prospecting adventures too !
Glad you liked the videos. Yeah, give Snake River a call. They make a complete insert for your A52. I have in mine too ! Makes a huge difference, especially on the fine gold.
@@allansgoldmining already looked them up.. The idea of being able to put a finer Matt without the water rushing under it . is awesome.. I scrapped the idea of using V matting because it was letting water and pay dirt under the matting
@@allansgoldmining hey Allan if you're every in the Phoenix are the GPAP holds their meetings on the first Thursday each month if you could be a guest speaker some time they would love it.

Thanks for your kind compliments Mark ! Check out my 3 part "Trommel Build" series on my channel. It will help up you all the details. A complete parts list is at the end of series 2. Best of luck to you on your prospecting adventures !
Thanks for the compliments Steve. Many years ago (1980's ?) Action Mining came out with a Gravity Wave Table that was very effective for fine gold recovery. They wanted way too much $$$, so I copied the designed for my own purpose. Worked exceptionally well recovering fine gold from our lode mining adventure. Perhaps you can do the same ?
I don't plan on manufacturing this trommel. However, I invite you to visit my channel where you'll find a three-part series on how to build one. Video's 2 & 3 has a parts list at the end. Also watch my latest Gold Rattler wash plant videos. That's the machine I plan to manufacture. Best of luck prospecting !
Thats a bloody beauty , i might slow the water down a bit and possibly add a sideways vibration on the sluice .That will do sapphires etc as well as gold and not expensive ,good stuff .
Thanks Mark. Glad you like it ! I have a new video coming out soon demonstrating the latest upgrades, including a new sluice riffle system and guide channels to stabilize the material as it enters the sluice. Also decreased water volume to 2,000 gph. I don't have sapphires on my claim, but nice garnets. Best of luck to you and your prospecting adventures !
Luke, I do have a video series on how to build a trommel wash plant. Find them on my channel. Be sure to subscribe to catch new updates. Thanks for your kind compliments !
@Marshal Smith Wish I could, however, it is very time consuming. By the time I charge for labor, you would be better off buying a manufactured product. That's why I created these vids for DYI projects. Thanks.
Genius! My only concern was that the water flow across the sluice box was not uniform and laminar...it seemed to all rush to the right side (when looking uphill)...which then created a turbulent ridge of water all the way down the sluice box. I have always had the highest recovery when the flow profile was the same from wall to wall in the box...and considering how long I take to tune the box to find the "sweet spot" between angle, flowrate and riffle/moss sizes...the last thing I want to introduce is a wildcard like crazy flow. I think it boils down to the effective flowrate of the feed hopper/scrubber/spray head is not the same as the effective flowrate across the sluice box...you almost need a short circuit for some of the water leaving the first trommel to go directy back to the hopper/scrubber...maybe a dewatering screen over the flare end of the box into a secondary pump feeding the hopper.. You won't lose any gold, not even flour gold...because the water and any suspended sediment never leaves the system...and eventually it will all travel down the sluice. I know when it comes to gold mining, everyone thinks they are an expert...and at the end of the day, the proof is in the pan...but since you too are a fan of Gold Rush, see Season 2, Episode 7 to see why I am so crazy about sluice box flow. May you hit the Mother Lode!
Thanks for the compliments and comments Chuck. Actually I've made several modifications to the wash plant sense that video was posted. I had the same concerns. I plan to post an update video soon. In the meantime, you can log onto Ask Jeff Williams channel and view his trommel video from a couple months ago. I explain some of the modifications.

Nope. Wash all rocks up to 4 inches. Larger stones I manually throw out. Thanks for watching ! Check my channel and the evolution of the wash plant. Good luck prospecting !
When I complemented you on finding gold in tailings I should have clarified that more. In dry climates caliche often cements some of the gravels. Some of that caliche cemented gravels would have been oversize to the previous dry washers. After decades on the surface the oversize cemented gravels become weathered and easily release their gold when washed.
Hi Steve. I understood what you meant. I just got off track a bit. These piles were created back in the 1920's. So, your comment is very true. I have peeled off the top layer of the coarse tailings, down to the sedimentation level. By golly, I found gold there too !
I'm just like all the rest, but I'm sure you like to hear it, that is a COOL MACHINE I will build one like it one day. That makes it so much easier to go after desert gold.
Hi Keith. Thanks for the kind compliments ! Glad you like the video. Hope can build one soon and find some gold ! Check out my tutorial videos on how to build a trommel. Lots of good pointers. Very ingenious! Very impressive! Good Luck to you.
Thanks Egon ! Same to you in your prospecting adventures !
You sir are a true hacker, love your machine! Been thinking about getting into gold mining and this is almost exactly how I envisioned it.
Go for it Tyler ! Plenty of yellow metal still out here ! Good luck to you in your prospecting adventures.
Pure Genius! You Sir, "Rock"!! Thank you for sharing?
Would be nice having this awesome plant in Ghana for small scale mining.
Thank you so much for the valuable information@@allansgoldmining
awesome video thank you for sharing...
Perfect setup just keep lookin and postin ))
Thank you ! Check out more wash plant videos on my channel. Good luck prospecting !!
Really awesome video😊👍✊️✊️
Thanks for the nice compliments James !! Glad you're enjoying my channel ! Wishing all the best in your prospecting adventures ! Cheers !! 🤠
Two thumbs way up! I need to get something like this set up!
Go for it, Dean ! Not hard to build. Good luck finding yellow metal !
Very nice setup 👍👍
very nice
Thanks for watching !
thank you for showing that product from Snake River.. thats exactly what I have been looking for, for my A52...
I agree. You really don't need the V mat. The staked double V does it all ! Good luck prospecting !
@@allansgoldmining hey Allan if you're every in the Phoenix are the GPAP holds their meetings on the first Thursday each month if you could be a guest speaker some time they would love it.
Be glad to. I'm speaking to Mojave Prospectors Association next week. Email me at: allan.goldmining@gmail.com
Very interesting and informative
Thanks for your compliments ! Please check out my channel for more wash plant and assorted mining videos. 🤠⛏⚒
Good work. I watched this back when you first made it. You pay way more attention to detail than I do. =)
Thanks for the kind compliments ! Good luck in your prospecting adventures !
Cool setup man! I like your finishing / clean-up pan. I’ve got two of those and they’re great! Happy prospecting!
Love your channel name ! I'm a pilot too. Would like to try flex wing or paramotor. Thanks for watching ! It was my first wash plant video I ever posted on RUclips. A lot has evolved over the years ! Best of luck to you prospecting. 🤠⚒⛏👍👍👍
Ingenious. One suggestion. Paint that white PVC to keep the sun off of it. Over time, white PVC will turn brittle and break in ultraviolet light.
Actually, the plastic buckets will rot faster in the sun. However, my unit stays in a shed when not in use. So, it should last a very long time. Thanks !
@@allansgoldmining I was mainly talking about the structural part. The white pvc pipe
Just think what miners of yesteryear could have done with this set up? Thanks From 🇦🇺
Oh, no doubt ! Actually, it's forsake here in US. $350 US. Check out my latest invention called the Gold Rattler.
ruclips.net/video/3xLrOrDDbgc/видео.html
nice I made one kind of like that good idea with the wiper motor. I got mine hook up to my jobe sluice and a gold cube and a hand crank. Great for packing in to thouse places way out there.load the dolly and go.
Josh Fulton Thank you for sharing. Fun stuff, isn't it ? Good luck finding the big one !
Nice build Allan, thanks for sharing :)
That's quite an impressive machine.
Genius brother. Nice work
I love DIY stuff and this is real a nice one.
👍👍👍👍Very creative.
Great engineering, just like the large sluices
good job I love it
Thanks Ron ! Best to you in your prospecting adventures !
nice setup allan
Thanks for sharing. You're a gem mate.
Thanks ! Glad you enjoyed the video. Please check out my channel for latest upgrades and other equipment. Best of luck to you prospecting !
SWEET, I brought the view count to 2K!! Hello Allen! Joseph here from the YFRC. Allow me to say before your in, WELCOME TO THE CLUB.
Thanks for your kind words. Glad to be a part of this group. Amazing how many folks out there are interested in gold prospecting !
@@allansgoldmining Your very welcome Allan. Yes, we are part of a rather large community. Gold prospecting is very much alive again. Looking forward to your videos.
Nice...
Please visit my sight and check out some of the latest updates to the wash plant. Currently, designing a trailer mounted version. Thanks for watching !
Nice setup!
I think this is a great design , i will build similar to wash for topaz / sapphire etc and a ripple board for fines and possible gold . EXCELLENT !!
Thanks for your kind compliments Mark ! Check out my 3 part "Trommel Build" series on my channel. It will help up you all the details. A complete parts list is at the end of series 2. Best of luck to you on your prospecting adventures !
Impressive! Thank you for sharing.
Now please just invent a gold recovery table for final processing of fine gold.
Perhaps you can do the same ?
pretty nice set up buddy
Thank you sir !!
im gonna give you a new name after seeing your genius gold trommel. the gold nerd
Ha ha ! I like it Marko. Thanks for viewing. Enjoy !!
I really like ur set up sir.. nice job
Thank you sir ! Good luck prospecting !
How much to have you build on an how long does it take you to build one ? Jest the first trommel.
WOW! very nice Allan this is very clever and looks great! It would be cool if you did a video showing how to make on of these. Keep it up :D
Luke, I do have a video series on how to build a trommel wash plant. Find them on my channel. Be sure to subscribe to catch new updates. Thanks for your kind compliments !
Thanks, I probably should have looked before commenting and I just subscribed. Cheer :D
Thanks for subscribing Luke. Enjoy the vids !
You did a great job designing your system for the location. Well done. Thx.
P.S. I visited your site and subscribed because I saw you on Jeff Williams' channel.
Thanks Randy for compliments and subscribe. Glad you liked the video. Will post more soon. Isn't Jeff Williams videos fun to watch ?! Best wishes on your prospecting adventures !
Do you classify all the material before you run it through that Trammell?
Nope. Wash all rocks up to 4 inches. Larger stones I manually throw out. Thanks for watching ! Check my channel and the evolution of the wash plant. Good luck prospecting !
cool design i like the water recycle concept
Thanks for sharing life with enthusiasm,i likie
Sweet setup 😎
When I complemented you on finding gold in tailings I should have clarified that more. In dry climates caliche often cements some of the gravels. Some of that caliche cemented gravels would have been oversize to the previous dry washers. After decades on the surface the oversize cemented gravels become weathered and easily release their gold when washed.
Hi Steve. I understood what you meant. I just got off track a bit. These piles were created back in the 1920's. So, your comment is very true. I have peeled off the top layer of the coarse tailings, down to the sedimentation level. By golly, I found gold there too !
Very cool! Have you tried air jig test work ?
I have criticisms that I will keep to myself. But I enjoyed your video
Glad you enjoyed the video John. Please check some of the other wash plant videos on my channel. Maybe help relieve some of your concerns ?
I'm just like all the rest, but I'm sure you like to hear it, that is a COOL MACHINE I will build one like it one day. That makes it so much easier to go after desert gold.
Hi Keith. Thanks for the kind compliments ! Glad you like the video. Hope can build one soon and find some gold ! Check out my tutorial videos on how to build a trommel. Lots of good pointers. I will be coming out with a new video soon, detailing a few modifications to the wash plant. Keep in touch by subscribing. Best wishes to you in your prospecting adventures !
Excellent cheap engineering man. I would love to buy one of those machines from you! Great vid :)
Thanks for you kind compliments. I thought about production, but I wouldn't have time to dig for gold. Wish you the best in your prospecting adventures !
@@allansgoldmining its possible that production of mining equipment may bring more profit than digging for gold...
Ha ! You are correct. Been that way for over 150 years. I'm currently working on a trailer mounted production model.
@@allansgoldmining hell yeah! Now THAT REALLY would be awesome to have a mobile version to haul all over the place!
Now that I've perfected my plant over past couple years, will definitely go for it ! Thanks !!
very good! Like this system.
DUDE! That's amazing!
thats brilliant thanks for sharing this
Thanks Karl. Good luck finding that "big one !"
nice work!
