Huge for me in 2017 was becoming more active in my community PHYSICALLY. Attending city and schools events gave me a chance to build actual relationships in the flesh. Appears to be a lost art in the digital age. Not knocking the benefits of social media presence, as it is huge in my survival, but good ole' face to face interaction in my community has helped me get most of my work. I guess a new, but old approach. FYI.....LOVE your channel, and you are very inspiring! Keep doing your thing! :-)
Definitely like to make my business personal. I view my clients as friends so they are always comfortable and that makes them a returning client or one who is more likely to recommend me to someone else.
Thank you for this ! I’m trying to make my business stand out and where I live there’s a good amount of other photographers, so I’ve been doing portrait photography and creating my own style too
A little tip from me would be to ask your friends and family what style they think your pictures have and then stick to that if it's something you like for your brand, or make a change if not. I've been told my pictures are quite feminine and I absolutely love that, so I try to keep that in mind when I shoot to get the "feminine vibe" that I want. I 'll definitely try your tip on using a picture of myself. Thank you!
thank you so much for this, Joy! so helpful! I’m getting headshots done this weekend and am so excited to finally be able to connect a face to the name and really show people who I am! great tips, thanks!
Joy Michelle Photography I mainly do a lot of portraiture, like seniors, couples, and some families, too, but I’m really starting to get a lot more wedding clients, I have 6 booked so far for this year! so I really want to specialize in weddings and engagements. also! one of the things that I want to start doing this year to kind of help me stand out is to start blogging more than just my sessions, like I want to make some more posts that are geared to educating clients and other photographers with tips about dressing for a session or for photographers, like what I bring with me for photo shoots. also I would love to do some #fridayintoductions posts on instagram with like a little get to know me kind of thing, once I get my headshots. another way to help me stand out and really get m my face out there to connect with my brand! ☺️
Great video ...it took three years but I am starting to secure what my brand was... Sometimes I think we get frustrated with ourselves because we don't figure that out right away
Thank you Joy. I’ve been asking myself this question, how do I stand out but I never know what makes me different. I want to ensure my clients that I didn’t just pick up the camera and started a business therefore I enrolled myself in college and I am studying photography. Not sure if this would be what’s different about me.
I think what makes you different is your story and your history. Each of us have found our way to photography but not everybody had the same path. What’s your history?
SUCH. Great. Advice! I think personalizing your work and business and knowing what you truly want is so important! Plus you're right consistency is key! Thanks for sharing. PS - love the photo boss Facebook group!
I keep trying different things as far as standing out and nothing.. pretty much everyone following me on instagram or my facebook business page does not engage at all unfortunately
"Sharing the same picture across all platforms" Nice idea ! Thanks for the tips.
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
Love it! Such a good reminder to include more of who we are (and not being afraid to post photos of ourselves!) in our brand!
I feel like you do such a good job of this! Thanks girl
amgleaveable so true cause I do hide most of the time
Thank you, Joy!

This is a perfect example of your unique gift and offering that is bringing you clients over and over! 🙌🏼 do your clients say this in reviews?

I thought it was more professional to just have my logo instead of a picture but what you said made sense
What's one way you make your biz stand OUT?
Great tips. Keep up 😗
