I love how real and authentic you are! SO many photographers when speaking for IG or RUclips are so over the top and fake. Thanks for being real and the great content!!
I always make sure I have a sewing kit! I have sewed brides into dresses, hemmed flower girl dresses, etc. My sewing kit has saved the day at a few of my weddings! :)
Wonderful tips! I always bring myself an Ace wrist band that wraps and secures my wrist for the hand that holds the lens. If I don’t my wrists are hurting by the end of a long wedding day. This just gives me more support and strength and doesn’t let my hands get tired.
I always bring a med kit! I add bandaids, alcohol swaps, triple antibiotic, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, dramamine, loperamide and non drwosy benadryl. I took a course to become a Wilderness First Responder and now I do not leave without a med kit! I keep it in my car or in one of my bags. It's been super helpful!
Thanks for sharing your tips. I am French and a beginner wedding photographer in France, I would add ear plugs to the list. It is light, they do not take space and they can be a savior when DJ go crazy. Cheers
Great video! One of my worst fears is having my pants split LOL... so I actually keep an extra pair of pants in my trunk JUST IN CASE. You never know!!!!!!! :P
Those are such a amazing suggestions! I carry a lot of those with me, some have been on my list haha but one thing I absolutely love to do and it's not necessarily for the wedding day, it's up here flip-flops. I absolutely love being able to take my shoes off at the end of the day and wear my flip-flops instead for the drive home or if I have to stop anywhere. It's a great break for my feet, and instead of coffee if I am tired I will just tip back a monster before the wedding starts😁
I bring water too! A couple of other things I bring-allergy pills, safety pins, bobby pins, mini scissors, sharpie for labeling, and clear rubber bands to help dresses stay on hangers sometimes. How do you carry all these items (water for bridal party)? Do you leave some in the car?
These are great Joy! Bringing the board and the hanger is something I definitely have to add to my add-on bag. I carry gum, a little sewing kit, nail file, clothes pins, baby wipes (lifesaver for so many things) extra set of clothes (once a baby puked on me, and the second time a dog with very muddy paws jumped on my chest) so after that I bring extra, and this may not count but it’s important to me, my Apple Watch, it looks so much better to take a quick call on that than having the phone to my ear. That’s all 😉
Hi Joy! Great video! I just have a question regarding the command hook. Do you have to use a new sticky strip every time you use it? I just bought mine and saw that it only comes with two strips. Can you reuse the strips? I would really appreciate your feedback, thank you!!
Yeah, you are supposed to use a new one each time because it get destroyed when you pull it off the wall in a downward motion. The whole thing stretches out. Sometimes you might be able to pull it off differently but I don’t recommend it because it could damage the wall if you take it off wrong
Hi! I am new to your channel and I have been enjoying your videos so much! They are so helpful! For this video, I was wondering, how do you transport everything on the day of? And do you have everything with you at all times of the day? If you don't have an assistant, how would you have all this with you?
Hi Natalie, thanks! I bring the styling bag into where the bride is getting ready along with the rest of my gear but after the details are done I don’t bring it with me the rest of the day. I’ll leave it in the car.
Awesome list! But girl I get my food with the bride and groom so while they are eating so am I. I always explain it too. Tell them I will take about 20 mins to eat and refresh. The timing of that always works and usually, they enjoy a min of a camera not being around.. lol
I have a couple of dresses that are perfect but they’re VERY hard to find! And when I can do skirts or pants I do too- but they’re tough too. Have to be easy to move in and formal at the same time. Should I make a video?
For myself (not the bride nor groom) :- hankerchies- a bottle of water- a car with a filled tank- deodorant- pills against diarrheia- business cards- pen and paper- gps with the locations already entered
no-one mentioned it, but I always, always, but always carry with me anti diarrhea pills :D I know, its funny... but thats the life . Once saved my life :D and the wedding as well :D :D :D
Just subscribed!! Great video. I thought I was so weird taking a styling bag to my weddings! IG: Lyndsay_photography Can you explain which brands you use for the ribbons?
Yes!! I had no idea how common it was until this video :) I’ll go back and add some links for the ribbons and other items when I can find the sources. Thanks for subscribing!!
What do you bring to your weddings?
I love how real and authentic you are! SO many photographers when speaking for IG or RUclips are so over the top and fake. Thanks for being real and the great content!!
I really appreciate that!! Thanks for watching, Savannah! Let me know if you have any video requests :)
Scissors, safety pins, bobby pins, q-tips. Brides or bridesmaids always need these things and it's so nice to be able to offer them to them!
I’d like to see the outfits you wear to shoot weddings ❤️
I always make sure I have a sewing kit! I have sewed brides into dresses, hemmed flower girl dresses, etc. My sewing kit has saved the day at a few of my weddings! :)
Great one!

Best addition for me was a wagon!! Absolute game changer to carry my bags, lightstands, etc.
I want one of these!! I learned how useful these are when I saw other vendors using them at bridal shows

Ok you have convinced me! I totally need one of these kids. Where is a good place to get one?
@@Joymichelle I've made my own kit, but this is pretty much what I have amzn.to/2Xb5r5E
I also take it with me when I travel and put it in a dry bag.
In the summer I bring a rechargeable fan. I bought it for myself but usually end up giving it to the clients to use for those hot outdoor portraits!
What a fantastic idea!!!
I’m a videographer, but all of these are great ideas for us as well! Thanks for this tips!
Awesome!! I have found there are a few videographers here on the channel - there's such an overlap to what we do :)
Could you do a video with your outfits? What do you wear for a wedding day? :)
Love this idea!!!
I'd even love a video on where she gets her outfits in her videos. This one i just love!!!
With a little manipulation with a pocket knife, a PEZ disperser will fit in your hot shoe, makes small kids look at the camera :)
Oh there’s a new one
Your amazing! Never would of thought of the fancy hanger. Thank you!
Yes it kills me when brides have the dry cleaner hanger 😫😵
Love your videos, the attention to details is unmatched!
That means a lot!
Omg, I thought that I was prepared before I saw this! Your tips are so helpful, I'll definitely get the hanger and the hook! hugs from Panama!
Thanks for sharing your tips.

Glad this was helpful and new for you!
Great video! One of my worst fears is having my pants split LOL... so I actually keep an extra pair of pants in my trunk JUST IN CASE. You never know!!!!!!! :P

GREAT question. The emergency kit type of stuff I keep with me and the food and water I leave in the car.
Thank you... some wonderful additions for my bag! :) Duct tape...sewing kit...band aids...
Ah yes I actually do have a bride emergency kit in my camera bag with a little sewing kit :) so handy!!
And, of course, safety pins! ;)
Hi Joy!! First off I ADMIRE you!! Often times I find brides need a SAFETY PIN or some thread!
Thanks for being here, Candice!! 💕
Incredible tips🙌
Thank you 🙌

Hi Joy
Great video, where is your hanger from? It’s so pretty ❤️
It’s from BHLDN :) thanks!
Amazing video! I added a few of these items to my list. 😍 I usually bring a blush sheepskin for details but I love the tray idea!
Oooh sheepskin is a great idea! And doesn’t wrinkle like fabric I bet.
Joy Michelle Photography haha yes it’s usually just folded up 😂😍
I appreciate you.
genius! :) Thank you for that!
Love this!!! ❤️ Would you share what kind of shoes you wear on a wedding day? And tips on what to wear?
Ok I’ll make a video about this!
this was super helpful, thanks! ❤️
You’re welcome!

You thought of everything! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Well, I use those anti-diarrheia pills in advance (even if I'm not 'sick'), so I don't have to go to the toilet during the ceremony :-)
Hahaha the things we do for our clients!!
Where did you get your blouse?
Marshalls! :)
What camera do u use to shoot your video ..
