I use the tps wad from bpi and load 1.75 ounces of copperhead bb’s. I use Alliant steel powder, zeekups load. It is a very lethal load for ducks and geese. The terror .720 choke tube patterns this load very tightly. Long live the mighty 10!!! Love your videos!

Hi Nick! Fantastic! Glad you enjoyed shooting the Mighty 10. That Spanish double is a beautiful example and a great hunting arm. Had the pleasure to kill a couple geese and crows with it as well as shoot 89/100 on a sporting clays course with it. - Drake
An interesting load I put together was a ten ga. Sam 1 wad. It is smaller diameter than other 10 wads. It fit my mossberg 835 barrel which is a 10 barrel. It squeezed into a federal hull which has a thinner wall. 35gr blue dot. 70 T shot. A felt pad for shot release. It patterned 55-60 with the modified at 50 yds. Since I got my 10, I haven't loaded this. It was faster than the load data because the area to push against was greater.
I agree with the hull interchangeability, the only 1 I struggle with is Winchester, I love the hull but the fact Winchester melts the center and it blows out and leaves a hole it requires you to have an overshot card, some years ago I created duplicate loads in win, rem, fed (of every variety I could find) all of them develop about the same pressures with the win coming in slightly higher (the test report stated "the necessity of the overshot card on the Winchester increased the Pressure by about 3 to 4.25%). Having said that watch which overshot cards you use, and YOU MUST PATTERN overshot cards with each load and CHOKE!!! and it can blow the pattern...
The Mylar wrap is what will make the difference in tight chokes and large steel shot with the BPI wads like the TPS. I am not a fan of the "close call" cutting I have seen with just airgun BB steel shot pellets with the BPD and TPS wads when using the .720" Terror Tube. Great videos. Glad to find some 10ga content. I know it's tricky to give loading advice but do you know if - a cheddite 209 primer will fit and work in - a) Remington hull, or b)Federal hull? I think you mentioned it might. Where I'm at its near impossible to get reloading hulls and the same brand of primer. Thanks appreciate the content and detail. Cheers.
In short, yes you can. The CX2000 is a standard dimension No. 209 primer. In my experience, it often fits tightly in the Rem, Fed, and Win hulls as the CPI/European standard typically has a slightly larger primer pocket, which is often why the American made primers fit almost loose in the European hulls without pocket reconditioning/resizing (Rio, Cheddite, Fiocchi, etc. hulls). You won't hurt anything in a shotshell hull by having a tight primer fit. The CX2000 and its magnum equivalent is the same used in all primed Cheddite hulls and similar to equivalent of the RIO and Fiocchi No. 209 variants. Companies like BOSS, Hevi-Shot (Environmetal), Rio, Kent, and others all have or currently do use Cheddite hulls with the CX2000 primer for their loads.

Not entirely related to the subject of the video, but I'm toying with the idea of getting a 10 gauge - I have reservations about the gold 10, am more leaning towards the BPS-10 (as that's really all that is available to me). Not sure if you have much experience with the BPS-10, but how well does it handle recoil? From what I can gather, it seems to weigh about the same as a heavy 12 gauge over and under, and putting heavy 10 gauge loads through one of those would be a fairly unpleasant experience. Thanks
The 26” and 28” barreled BPS-10’s come in right at about 10lbs +. They handle recoil like any other fixed breach 10ga. The Gold 10 and Mag10/SP-10 are softer recoiling and more pleasant with heavy loads. With 2oz and less waterfowl loads though, the BPS-10 is very manageable. The BPS-10 also has the benefit of being able to reliably cycle 2-7/8” field loads without modification or limited capacity. Installing a Kick-Ez or Limbsaver pad in combination with a Beartooth stock sleeve/cheek pad will further reduce recoil and make it much more gentle on you under recoil. Stock fit is most important thing in managing recoil, so you’ll want to make sure that the gun fits you. These guns come stock at 14-1/2” length of pull, which can be long for many people under 5-10” tall or those with shorter arms. Cutting down the stock for those it is oversized for will change the recoil drastically and improve the shooting experience. The same thing goes for the G10 and Mag-10/SP-10 The BPS-10 is a solid gun and used models are a lot cheaper than the G10, often being half the price or less. It’s a good way to get into the 10ga cartridge. If you find you need the auto you can always sell the BPS-10 as there is a stable and healthy market for used examples. Hope this helps answer your question.
@@AmericanArmsChannel That's reassuring - the Browning website lists the BPS-10 as being 7 pounds 10 ounces, so it's good to know that's it's significantly heavier than that. I presume you're referring to the new, synthetic furniture models? Thanks!

The wood stocked versions will be 8 to 12 ounces heavier is my understanding and will be pushing the 11lb mark. Heavy for most people, but they will soak up the recoil. The easiest recoiling BPS-10 will be the heaviest model that was made: wood furniture with a 30” barrel. That version tips the scales at over 11lbs, but is a great heavy payload gun.

i killed lotsa ducks and geese shooting 1150...1200 FPS lead...Dont need alot of speed with lead
whats the pressure?
These have not been submitted for pressure testing. With Remington hulls, it is expected that these will be at or exceed SAMMI MAP of 11k PSI. I consider these to be “+P” and they most likely land close to 12k PSI. Load and use with caution and educated loading practices.
