      Thanks! More to come as I’m able to produce it.
      If it is truly a Deluxe grade in great shape, it’s worth the $900 price tag you’ve mentioned before. I’d say it is a safe investment. It may dip in value when the gun market crashes at some point in the future, but it will keep climbing over time. Lots of guys are asking insane prices for base grade Mag-10’s. $900 for a nice Deluxe grade is not insane.

    I usually tear apart guns with small parts and springs over a shag carpet. It makes it fun looking for them with a magnifying glass.

    I have a rem. Sp 10 and I want more Info on where to get parts and barrels and chokes, any info appreciated , thanks for the video I'm doing a deep cleaning

    • @AmericanArmsChannel
      @AmericanArmsChannel  Год назад +1

      Numrich Gun Parts Corp, Midwest Gun Works, Ebay, and others are all places to search and find SP-10 and Mag-10 parts. Barrels are not supper common to come by alone, but they do show up. Many parts of the SP-10 can be interchangeable with the Mag-10, but just as many are not.
      The SP-10 has been out of production for 11 years now and so parts are becoming a little scarcer. The Mag-10 also suffers of this, but by a increased factor of 4. None the less, parts are out there. I recommend you obtain a spare bolt buffer, firing pin and extractor; those will be the most common spare parts needs.

    Question for you Drake. Would you go old school mag 10 or gold 10? Looking into some cheap mag 10's and wondering if it be worth upgrading an old school 10 with camo dip and cerakote vs new gold 10. Thanks love the content.

    • @AmericanArmsChannel
      @AmericanArmsChannel  3 года назад +1

      I answer some of these questions in the Mag-10 vs Gold 10 video, but the bottom line is this: the Gold 10 is an objectively better gun, but for regular waterfowl hunting use you are not at a disadvantage with a Mag-10/SP-10.
      The Mag-10/SP-10 have a better shooting experience, in my opinion, but their limiting factor is major component availability for repairs and a limited magazine capacity that cannot be increased if desired.
      If you can find lower price point Mag-10’s, they are worth purchasing and bringing up to a condition where they can be brought back into the field. A G10 affords you the ability to adjust on the fly with removable chokes and will not make you regret treating it like the modern duck gun it is and getting it a little rough, as you can refinish it at any time. Depending on the grade of Mag-10 and its finish when you bought it, you may want to treat it a little kinder to preserve the classic looks and american craftsmanship. All depends on what you want to do. I think your plan is reasonable and worth a try. The Mag-10’s are classics and you will enjoy owning and hunting with one.

      @@AmericanArmsChannel Thanks for the answer. The fact that you and avid waterfowler had similar issues has me more then concerned on the gold 10. I have a mag 10 at local shop with some hunting wear available for 600 dollars. I'm trying to decide which way to go. Think the mag 10 would do everything I need with no headaches and be well under price of gold 10.

    • @AmericanArmsChannel

      @@travandlauren I would take that Mag-10 in a heartbeat. Buy it, get a spring kit on order from Wolff Springs, and check to see if you need to replace the buffer or not. You will not be disappointed with it. You can always get a G10 at a later date; they are still in production and their value for used examples has not changed in years. If you don't buy that Mag-10 you will be kicking yourself in a few years if the next decent Mag-10 you can find is double the price (which could happen).
      I believe that the Mag-10 prices will come down in another 6 to 12 months, but the days of nice examples for less than $500 are gone.
      Regarding the G10, There are blatant QA/QC issues from more recent year's productions. I had many more issues than @AvidWaterfowler did, but there is the chance that a brand new one will need a tune up out of the box. Older used examples could also need tune up work, but there are established fixes for all of the problems that may arise.
      Long story short, just go buy that Mag-10. You'll love it (and if you don't send me an email and I'll take it off your hands lol).

      @@travandlauren Awesome! Have fun with it! If you run into any issues that you need help trouble shooting, just shoot me an email. Even if you had to buy a chamber hone and barrel hone on top of replacing a buffer and maybe one or two small parts, AND after you replace the springs, you'll still have just as capable of a shotgun as the Gold 10. Plus, you'll have saved hundreds of dollars over going the Gold 10 route, which may still have required you to have performed the same remedies anyhow. Let us know how it does. Nice vid! Will this kit work with the remington sp-10? They don't have a spring kit for the sp-10 but the internationals look identical. I only want to replace these springs because my gun fires once and cycles the round as it should but won't fire the next round. But if I pull the bolt back a half inch and shoot again it will fire. Having issues ;(

    To save us all the bolt spring efforts Rmeington could have machined a removable plug from the back of the butt spring tube. The spring could have been added lastly after the bolt and carrier were in place. Cheesh!
