My misfires have come from crappy Bosch coil packs. Sometimes the vehicle won't even throw a check engine light and with a visual inspection of the coil, it appears to be fine. Replacing the Bosch coils has solved the problem every time for me so far on dozens of e90s.
After clearing long-term adaptations, creation of new ones is needed. To my knowledge, the ECU will enter that mode when faults are cleared and the car has been off for long enough for the "start/stop" light to go out. Can apparently crap itself a few times when creating new adaptations. Can link a good post from bimmerprofs if anyone is interested
Although I have a manual N53 which uses a MSD80 ECU, I'll link this bimmerprofs.com/once-again-about-adaptations/ just because the issue with the adaptations seems similar. Good luck with your stuff!

I've got a 2006 BMW 325Ci the 6 cylinder is misfiring I changed the injectors swapped them around still misfires change the coil swapped it around still misfires checked all the fuses finally I did a compression test and I'm at 30 psi the longer I crank it doesn't build and it doesn't leak it's just stuck at 30 lb I just put it on a code reader and it said service fuel system now keep in mind all this happened right after the bottom hose to the CCV broke and it looks like it's full of carbon but no more than I've seen other cars that still run
I have the 2001 bmw 330ci 5 speed manual P1341, P1343 and P1351 (cylinder 1,2 and 5 misfire with fuel cut off) I replaced the fuel injectors, spark plugs and ignition coils along with the ignition coil harness wiring, fuel pump, exhaust camshaft sensor, intake camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor, mass air flow sensor, lower and upper intake boot, disa valve, both up stream exhaust oxygen sensors, cleaned the ICV... still Nothing is working.. im gonna start assuming its the throttle body itself...
I have the last model year of the E91 wagon with AWD that i picked up with low mileage and i like it a lot. It has the LCI updated lights and front end. It actually came with everything minus the I Drive which is okay by me. I do have an issue with the front half shaft or possible wheel bearing. The steering wheel vibrates slightly when i go over 40 mph. I had swapped out wheels and tires and still the vibration is there. Also the front passenger seat vibrates which leads me to think it's that very same issue you pointed out in your other video. Other than that the engine is butter smooth. The suspension is tight under 40 mph but i do have a slight pull to the left. Again even after changing wheels and tires the pull is there so something is going on up front. Well with all that said, have you ever thought about the E91? I think it's better than an SUV and you get the best of both worlds!
If u can send power down command with a scan tool so terminal 15 fully power down. Must e6x or newer need that if u do any adjustments or clear stuff. Specially those f series stuff
Mr Polo2u im not disagreeing with you. At least theyre easy to replace. I did all of my plugs and coilovers and bought an extra one, so next time one goes bad, ill just replace that one.
Sometimes you just have to let them sit overnight and they reset themselves, that's what happens to my 2007 328i when I have misfires and change out the packs
Also quick question Nathan . ? I’m rebuilding one of my e46 disa valves and are in desperate need of the rubber membrane that goes inside it . Any idea where to get one of those at decent price an fairly quick not like a month long or two months on some of the foreign sellers I’ve seen
hello Nathan, I have an 05 325xi with about 140k miles. Cylinder 4 is misfiring. I pulled coil and its good. I changed plug and its good. I also noticed the spark plug was in like new condition which means the cylinder is not firing at all. I pulled all the injectors and tested them and they were all good i also cleaned them. So my question is, Can a bad ECU cause just one cylinder to misfire? I tried my best to follow the wires back to the ECU and the wires seem okay.
What diagnostic software are you using on this car? I need to get something with oem or near oem capabilities to cover multiple manufacturers. Any suggestions from you guys with experience over multiple 0latforms would be greatly appreciated.

I need help I have a 2007 bmw 525xi for a month I been getting misfire codes for cylinder 1-3 meanwhile the car is not misfiring cause I know how it feels sounds and engine looks when it misfires , I clear the codes and it comes back maybe same day or a few days later but it keeps coming back I changed the the spark plugs coils the 02 sensor befor the cat, Nd mass airflow sensor , keep in mind the car is not feelings or running as if it’s misfiring , and I don’t have cats I deleted them two years ago,
I have a BMW 325i with manufacture date of 05/2003. When I bought it, it had a misfire on cylinders 4, 5, and 6. I put new coils and plugs with no change, so I flashed the dme to an updated file and now I have misfire on cylinders 1, 2, and 3 but no other codes. @@autogirl53208 so it was my fuel pressure regulator , I have a n51 don’t think the n52 have it , but the clip that holds the hose together gave out so I replaced it but when I went to put it all back together another clip broke , they don’t make replacements so I had to buy soemthing close to it and cut it in just a way it would stay
So the adaptions are only fully reset by a sleep? I would blame the aftermarket coils, with misfires pushing the calibration of the AFR sensors into a silly state. This reminds me of the time when I lost wipers in the middle of the night on my E38. I cleared a code on the whatever modue however wipers were still locked out. So I called recovery... Went off and had a coffee.. When recovery arrived they were working. Avoided the rain sensing mode but noticed they sometimes would not start. Found burnt relay contact..
right now i changed chain + guides / front exhaust and injector cil 3 all plugs . but it keeps injecting too much fuel in cilinder 3 causing misfires. im 3 weeks in and thouroughly pissed. god knows how many dollars . . . . im now in red mist mode. im fixing this basterd. ;P

These cars turn to garbage at 100k miles. Absolute time and/or money pit. If you have endless free time and don't care about reliability, then they're great cars...except the days they ruin your day.

If you reset adaptions/learned values you have to let the vehicle go into sleep mode. You don't need a laptop.

Stupid question but did you get an alignment done?
If u have those rims with no lip it uses sticky weights yo balance tires or possibly something in front like wheel bearing or steering linkages

Mr Polo2u spark plugs have always been regular maintenance. Coil packs on the e90s are part of maintenance also, they go bad.

Check your fuel pressure first...If thats fine then most likely it could be your fuel injectors
