- Pole Dancers, are you looking for tips to improve your Juliette spin?
Does your Juliette spin tend to look droopy instead of dramatic and spinny?
I’d love to help : )
But first, some Juliette spin history…
Back in 2010, I started a spin I normally did (an inside knee hook spin) but was leading with the “wrong” leg.
I immediately loved it and started teaching it as “The Juliette” because of the romantic, sculptural reach that makes the spin unique.
In this video, I share essential techniques for improving your pole dance Juliette spin including:
- Optimal body positioning for dynamic strength and opposition
- Grip techniques for better static spinning
- How engagement is a result of positioning and action
- Directing your gaze for a more suspended and dynamic execution
…
Here’s a recap of what we covered in the video:
➡️Ensure you're stepping and facing in the right direction, creating a line of tension away from the pole.
➡️Get long and low, not open in an arch. Keep your lower ribs dropped and armpit tight as you create a low, long line of reach.
➡️Allow for re-gripping so that you don’t lose power.
➡️Keep your inner thighs squeezed together and your foot on the floor until your pelvis passes the pole.
➡️Shift your focus to your fingertips to elongate the spin and enhance opposition.
➡️WHIP the leg as you KEEP looking at your arm. Pull yourself in opposite directions as you ride out the spin.

I remember a video from wayyyy back where you demonstrated the Juliet spin and I have fond memories of Retchless pulling on my leg (gently) to help me understand what the heck I was doing wrong 😂. I’m thrilled to see this update for the new generation

I just discovered your account and I love the way you explain! Sooo professional! I would love to see a video on how to master my shouldermount. Can‘t get my damn hips up there 😂
Same here :))
Male poledancer that just started 2 months ago here. Those are the best tutorials I could find on RUclips so far. I love the way you explain the technique so in depth.
Could you do some tutorials for more strength focussed moves like human flag or shoulder mount flag or other inverted exercise? I feel like there is litterly zero good explained content out for that.
I am so happy I found your channel and can't wait for more videos ❤
