  • Inversion Issues? Try this.
    I've always found it odd that the first way most people learn to "invert" on the pole is one of the more effortful ways to get there.
    When your Center of Mass (COM) takes a long journey upwards, more "work" is needed. If you can't do that "work" with strength 💪🏻, your mobility doesn't offer an advantage, and no one is lifting your ass 🍑 for you, the only option is momentum🚀 …the classic HEAVE-HO. (We will have to talk about the pros and cons of momentum-based approaches another time.)
    I've never seen a position that only has one possible entry. So, when I see many people doing something a certain way, I say, "But why?" and "How else can this be done?" 🤷🏻‍♀️
    💥MORE variations=more progressions💥
    💥More progressions = options for MORE bodies with their unique limitations and abilities
    + MORE bomb-ass creative flow potential💥
    For any challenging movement, when there's a lack of options- people will tend to struggle for longer-and the likelihood of injury 🏥 and demotivation😕go up.
    This particular option will require more work from the hip musculature than many people are used to. Also, some mobility profiles may discover that their hip ROM still holds them back. However, the work demand is lessened in many other ways.
    The main idea: Explore getting your Center of Mass (pelvis) level to- or above -your head BEFORE fully loading your arms and trunk.↔️
    PLUS more efficient movements always FLOW easier that grunty ones.
    When I've shared this option with individuals who were struggling to stick their invert, they've said,✨ "OMG, that was easier. I can't believe I struggled to do this for years?! Why did no one show me this?" ✨
    This suggestion isn't meant to replace other ways to invert or conditioning exercises for inversions. {Also, there are many other common issues to troubleshoot (I'll do that another time)}
    This video is merely meant to add to the options. When you finally find a technique that helps you make something happen (like getting into an inverted V), it becomes easier to learn it in other ways. The first, safe, controlled rep is a moment of magic. ⚡️
    Know someone who has struggled to nail their Inverted V?

    Your little sound effects had me giggling 😂 I love people who love themselves enough to be able to make fun of themselves. Self deprecation is a good trait to have. I make fun and laugh at myself all the damn time and it’s hilarious 😂❤
