- I think about 200 series Land Cruisers every single day... Yes, I'm a nut. Now that we know the terrible direction Toyota is headed, I'm extremely tempted to buy another 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition and actually try to keep it for longer than 45 minutes. The 2024 Land Cruiser is a disgrace to the legendary Land Cruiser nameplate... Think the majority of true Toyota enthusiasts can agree on that. Unfortunately these 2020-2021 Land Cruiser Heritage Editions are still a bit more than I'd want to pay... looking at mid-80s for one with 30-40K miles. Still need them to drop another 10-15K before the purchase make sense.
What's the one vehicle you let get away and miss often?

I don't want to say "I told you so" but I told you so. Two things you don't sell in life: Rolex and Land Cruiser.
😂😂😂
Rolex couldn't care less ..........LC is a keeper.......
@@donthesheek In the Middle East ...you need both if you want to stay alive
I know I know… I’m not afraid to admit to my mistakes. Should have kept my first one.
@@UntamedMotors I did my fair share of the same mistakes. Sold my pepsi and 80 series 16 years ago. I got them back except it’s now LX570 because Land Cruiser 200 was not available in Canada.
Definitely a keeper Untamed. Don’t sell your 21 tundra. You will feel the same way,”Regret”.
Haha oh I know. No plans to let the Tundra go. I’m loving it! =]
80k for a 4banger turbo… nah, I’m good 😂😂😂🤦🏻♂️
Yup. Don’t know how many times I told you to keep it….then the next one….and then the next one…. Love that I got the one you filmed at Magic Toyota!
Haha I knoooww… kick myself all the time for not just holding onto one. Who knows -maybe someday you’ll sell me yours. 😉
My dad owned an 80s landcrusier. Simple, reliable, AFFORDABLE. I hate these new ones. So overpriced. It all started here with these 70,80,90k cars. Toyota figured out people would pay anything even if it was not delivering on the affordability.
What’s there to HATE? It’s just a car pal. Lmao
started with the LC 100 it should of parted from lexus LX470 and became more utilitarian ,Land Cruiser used to be basic ,utilitarian off road wagon before the word S.U.V... as utility is its middle name , than they become a 3 row luxury family school bus so moo one bought them
It makes you appreciate it even more after all the underwhelming, over priced vehicles Toyota are producing.
Ain’t that the truth… 💯
Except it ain’t the truth. Bidenomics and inflation raise the price of your groceries and gas. Why do people think cars are any different? Toyota pays more for the parts. No business is in business because it subsidizes buyers. Cars are up in price at very similar inflation rates.
I can't believe we live in a time now where Toyota is trying to market that 250 Prado as THIS beautiful full size 200 series. I can't believe they pulled a fast one on us like that
Hahaha. If you think the new Toyotas are overpriced, try the big land cruisers. There is a reason they git axed in north America
@@cmdrls212 You're right. There is a reason. It's because American want something that looks pretty on the pavement and never actually goes off road.
The 200 series is the last of the Land Cruisers! This POS they’re charading as a LC now is atrocious & shameful! If you’ve never owned one and employed it in an austere environment under harsh conditions, you’re absolutely clueless as to its full potential!
price is why no one bought them Toyota only sold the top top luxury Trim LC 200 in the U.S. other markets had /have more utilitarian models
@@bobbyb.1743 in aus and other word markets there is a full land cruiser family prado/LC250 . LC 70 series wagons and utes , LC300 all available with diesels in many trim s from basic utilitarian work models to loaded 3 row luxury cars
Random news. We just got the land cruisers here in Hawaii. There was two on the lot I saw. Stopped by to talk about crazy prices ( he agrees ) yet if anyone’s been to Hawaii it’s Toyota nation here. So he told me 8/10 new Tacos were sold , and two owners dipped on their land cruiser reservation. My dealership doesn’t markup but the cracks are showing slightly here that people are starting to walk
I did a divorce for a guy who was a Land cruiser guy. He was good with money and very smart. I didn't know much about them, but I was surprised at how much the land cruisers were worth. He used to say...never sell a Rolex or a Land cruiser.
He saved hundreds of thousands of dollars by owning the same car for years and just repairing them as needed. He used to say Land cruisers are the Rolex watches of the vehicle world. Just well made and will last a lifetime.
I bought a 2015 Lexus GX and I have been happy ever since.
That’s my ride… new to your channel but love your honest and informative content… keep it up!
Thanks a ton man, really appreciate your support. 🙏
I own this exact vehicle. It has 11,560 miles on it. It will be the last new Toyota I ever purchased. The very best part about a TLC like this is the fact that nobody notices it. You can take it anywhere, park it anywhere, and nobody pays any attention to it. Then.......You can take it off road and go anyplace you want. When you get way out there......That's when other people notice it. Because it is absolutely amazing off road. The "value" goes up and down. But to those of us who know what we have, the value that's listed on some website is not relevant. You could offer me twice what I paid for mine and I still wouldn't sell it. Why? Because you can't get real land cruisers anymore. At least not a new one. I would buy a 1976 FJ40 for 50K sooner than I would let somebody pay me to take one of those new pieces of garbage.
My 200 H.E. is at about 9,500 miles. It does the long road trips, but the 100 is my daily around town ride for time being.
Spot-on Matt!!
A little dramatic, while the 200 is a solid machine and I get that you love the simple and understated nature of this vehicle but calling the new Toyota's "garbage" is kind of funny isn't it? They have finally actually realized they better catch up with the times if they want to sell any vehicles. I remember when the 100 series was the "new landcruiser" and everyone hated it and said the 80 series was the last great LC, Toyota has lost its way, etc etc. I appreciate that Toyota has at least attempted some new retro modern designs and I am betting the new LC 250, Prado, "not a real landcruiser" whatever you want to call it will be an excellent vehicle. Keep your 200 forever, buy antiquated FJ40's, all thats good and valuable and nostalgic but Toyota has to meet Government regulations and make attractive vehicles more likely to sell than the dismal sales figures of the 200 series at the end of its run in the USA. It couldn't compete anymore even though its a gem. Clearly everything is way more expensive than it used to be now so the value proposition isn't quite there for me yet either, I'll let early adopters take the depreciation hit and reliability uncertainty but no doubt I'll have one of those new Prados in my garage sometime in the near future.
@@WranglermanLevi They made the engine a lot smaller and put more power to it. That means it will be less reliable. That's true with any manufacturer. They also added a bunch of tech and electronics, which will also make it less reliable. I buy TLC's for what they are capable of. Not for how big the screen in the dash is. If a person uses a TLC to drive on pavement to work every day, I'm sure the new garbage will be just fine. If a person uses a TLC for what they have always been intended for, I have absolutely no doubt that they are junk.
@@WranglermanLevi I think we are both entitled to our opinions. I find nothing "exciting" about the new garbage they just created. You're definitely correct that the new junk is not an upgrade. Comparing a new TLC to an F150 is not a good plan. Compare it to a previous model TLC and see what it looks like at 200K. And yes, I live in a place where a real TLC is required. Most people want to drive a video game every day and they think they need a 4X4 SUV because they go skiing three times a year. I use 4X4 every single day. Lots of vehicles can do it. It doesn't have to be a TLC. The reason the 200 was my choice is because of the reliability, the power, and the comfort. In that order. The new junk has none of those.
Talk about holding their value. I searched used ones and was shocked. Im leaning towards an LX 570 as its basically a more plush Land Cruiser but the value used is a little more affordable than the Land Cruiser.
Omg this video is triggering lol I was upset all three times you sold
I am very biased. After watching a ton of your videos over time (GREAT work by the way)…I just bought three months ago, a White 2021 LC HE two-row and am totally in love with it. I think about it all the time too, even as a current owner. I try to find excuses to take it on drives (obviously). I love how understated AND confident this vehicle is. My desire for anything else is zero.
Ah man that’s great to hear, congrats!! Wise choice 👌
And thanks man. =]
Man, that's an insane price for that thing. Now that FJ at the end.... THAT's the true Toyota. A working man's car you could fix with a hammer. That modern monster is nothing more than a garage queen. That's not what Toyotas are for.
Thank you, became a believer during my 22yr military career. Bought my LC 200 in 2016 & now have 120K on it - it’s our prime mover!! W/ Proper maintenance & care they’ll run forever. Moved my daughter from her dorm @ Baylor back up to Tulsa for the summer w/ it yesterday. So supremely confident and solid in any driving environment, as well as quietly understated, you know when you’re in the Land Bruiser you can get through anything! There’s a reason it’s the UN vehicle of choice worldwide, and a favorite of NATO organizations in austere conditions, ie. Desert, jungle, mountains. I’ll never be w/o one👍🏻
yes but world wide land Cruiser 200.,300 ,LC 70 series are more utilitarian wish we have /had more utilitarian models of LC 200 than a 3 row luxury family school bus
Im happy with my poor man’s Cruiser with an 18 Sequioa. Still has that 5.7!
Those are excellent SUVs too. Almost bought a lunar rock TRD Pro Sequoia last month… prices haven’t gone down much on those.
For the money. Sequoia all day baby 🤙 they are fuckin awesome. Best SUV for family hauling ever built. Long live the 5.7l V8 🍻
This Land Cruiser built up by Westcott Designs is perfection!
My 2015 4runner is at 200k miles and I'm driving it alot obviously, but when that quiets down and maybe when its time to replace I may go to the this Land Cruiser or an LX 570
Love it. I would go with an Earth color like a bronze, brown or a green, even a dark blue maybe. No way on the white.
There was a magnetic grey metallic one sitting at a dealer I frequently drive through that I was eyeballing each time. It sat there for a couple of months with a sold tag in the windshield. I wouldn't ever get rid of something like that.
Love this truck!!
And also, please do a video on some of the other vehicles there! A Celica and a Supra?! 🎉
I could definitely do that the next time I’m down there. 👍
That Land Cruiser and what looks like it may be an 80s Supra next to it, are my ideal vehicles.
Amen to that brother 🙏 💯
You should feature next the 60 series and the MK4 Supra! Quite incredible for a dealership to have all these LCs and the Supras on display…
The REAL Land Cruiser!
Amen to that 🙏
The last real Land Cruiser was the 80 Series like my locked 94
It’s my dream car. If I had this i would never buy another car. I’ll never be able to afford it though 😢
Me too!
I feel the same way about my son's 1999 Camry. Simple and boring and grows on you and we got it 8 years ago for 2,500 dollars. Go get a old Camry and save yourself 80k.
Haha I love that. Saving $80K feels like a solid idea tbh haha
LC 200 is a great vehicle. But, can’t just pass over that MK4 Supra I spied.
I own a black 2021 Heritage Edition LC, bought new with three rows, and it is one of the best cars I have - compared to several other exotic cars I have owned in the past. I just can't believe Toyota can make something like this, it is so much fun to drive and the ride quality is superb. From my experience It is clearly better and faster than the LX570, not sure why because one would expect Lexus to be better. I plan to keep it since there is nothing right now that can replace it. Hidden gem!
They’re incredible. I have one (100 series) with 285k miles and it drives like new. That being said, get back to that dealership and look at all the other amazing vehicles they have on display. I saw an early Celica and Supra that CAN’T be missed!
I still have my 2014 Lx570. I get an itch every year to trade her in for something newer. But when it comes time for the transaction, I just can't do it. 150k miles and it drives the same as when I drove it off the lot. I'll keep mine till I kick the bucket 😁
Could I recommend a wired lapel microphone. Your current voice recording goes into voice vibration often. I saw another RUclipsr who had one and the sound was much like in-studio recording. Thanks for your good content.
Yeah I need to commit to using my external lapel mic. I bought a Rode one a few months ago the back -just haven’t used it yet. I’ll start putting it to use soon! Thanks for the feedback.
Amazing truck. I hope you get another one someday. - Great Wolf Lodge Guy
Sold a 1996 LC for 10k in 2007. It would take 30k today to get that same vehicle again.
Forget that 200 series. I would be checking out that mark 4 Supra, Celica Supra, and that FJ 40 if I saw that line up at a Toyota dealership.
Sequoia is almost as good. Better cargo area too. These are really cool. If you can’t afford it get a sequoia with the 5.7 v8. So awesome 🤙
I’ve owned a Sequoia, it’s not remotely close in terms of build quality and capability!
The build quality is really good though built in Princeton Indiana my home state. Your right it’s not nearly as capable off road only has a center locker and basic 4 wheel drive. But for every day use it’s a great suv compared to all the other thin panel junk that’s out there.
Funny Ben Hardy had a mishap with his wife's landcruiser. Said it would cost 8k to fix 😂. But it could have been avoided
Definitely a legendary truck! Hope to see you in a Blizzard Pearl someday.
I have a 17 LC in Blizzard Pearl with the Terra interior. Besides the steering wheel leather (had it re wrapped at an leather shop) its been great. Its a vehicle ill hold for a long long time.
The best part about Toyota's new smaller turbo and hybrid vehicles is that they make the older naturally aspirated vehicles worth more as people are figuring out that the old is better than the new.
Me too, me too! I lust for another Land Cruiser and my wife doesn't understand.
Arguably the high water mark of Toyota vehicles. Tied with the 70 series. I spent a few days in Qatar last year, and there’s 200 series land cruisers everywhere. Interestingly, they were all turbo V6s. Our driver said it’s because the V8s overheat out there in the Middle East extreme heat.
It's a beautiful SUV. I had a 2012 4Runner in that pearl white.
If I could afford one I’d definitely get one lol prices here in Canada are absolutely insane!
Are you taking the Path of Least Resistance? Lol lol 😅😅😅
When I see a land Cruiser, it reminds me of a time Toyota , well, had pride in there product. I want one.
We’ve seen the LC on your channel lol that Supra though!
How I felt when I traded my 4Runner Limited 😢
Cool car.. what did they what for the old supra next to it?
@3:40 is that car in the background a Supra? Not sure how you don't mention that.
That and the AE86 in the other side.
❤❤❤ Loving my 2020 Heritage Edition
Ben Hardy may be selling one soon enough!
Yeah idk why Toyota isn't bothering to fix it. However, he missed the biggest red flag tho.. It was a used one with only 12k miles. NOBODY sells their LCs, especially with such low mileage. I knew something was up
Paying the current asking price is why people are broke. Mortgaging a vehicle is not a good financial decision. If I buy a Japanese vehicle, I will only buy one that is made in Japan. Is that not why one pays the premium price????
Looking at that 80’s Toyota Celica Supra in the background.
Bro!!!!!!!! Is that a Celica on the right side of the LC. Feature that man, love those. Haven’t seen one in ages.
I saw something about a new celica coming out maybe next. From the picture it looked sweet.

You and me both!
from the outside, it's in pristine condition. how do you feel about the new 4runnner? Compared to the 5th gen?
If I could afford it, I’d buy it too lol
There was a very clean 2009 LX570 in Utah 2 years ago for 26k lol had like 143k miles? It was definitely well kept just based on pictures and 1 owner.
Bro, was that Supra and line of old school Toyota all for sale
Crazy to think a tacoma is now only like 15k less than what this was new msrp...
I'm telling you man
2021 LC, 74,000 miles. Zero issues.
Seleca/Supra in the background. Drool.
Looking for a new daily driver.
Choose between a BMW X5, New Toyota Land cruiser or a Lexus GX550. Any wisdom?
If I wanna choose for myself, it will be the GX550, because of higher horsepower and torque and has 3rd row option and it’s bigger than X5 and can tow more I believe 9,000 pounds. If you thinking buying one? These starts at 64,250$ USD so pick one what you need in terms of options in different trims and test drive is recommended. Hope this helps.
Rolex and 21 tundra are all you need, except a manual 911
$80.000 plus is a lot of money Utamed . Hell how much is the Lexus version wouldn’t resale be higher?
Great Show👍🏻
RmR 4x4 gas a silver Herritage with 3k miles for like 130k. Other LC’s too. Don’t worry I’ll put them on blast for you.
"I'm so excited about the new 4-cylinder Land Cruiser!"...said no Land Cruiser owner ever!
Maybe you've already done this and I missed it. But...please do a segment, OR TWO, on the availability/pricing of the 2024 V6 4Runners before they're all gone. I'm curious if they're being snatched all up and greedy dealerships are raising pricing in your area because of it.Thanks
There are a ton under msrp everywhere. They are overpriced and nobody can afford them at 10% rates for a 50k sr5.
Man I can wait to get my hands on the gx 550
Got a 2011 in a pearl white will keep it till i can drive , it a great machine.
Reach out to Ben Hardy he’s selling his and said that value is in mid 70s. His has 14k miles and interior is pristine.
Land cruisers are No 1 choice of Embassy personnel of many countries, I have Witnessed myself. Due to their reliability, the availability of parts everywhere.
I heard you mention 8 speed transmission.
Why didn't they ever put an 8 speed in the Tundra?
I think it would have helped the gas mileage a lot.
The 8 speed didnt improve mpg at all in the lc200 from the 6 speed so I doubt it would in the Tundra.
Talk to Ben Hardy, he’s got two of them! lol
I agree with where they grow on you. I did not know these were a thing until I started working for Toyota. At that time they didn’t make sense to me because of the sequoia. Well a few years later I ended up picking up a Land Cruiser. Personally I don’t mind them releasing the Prado here. Not that I dislike the size of the 200 series but I do prefer the size of the prado better. Just it could be better.
(Mic Issues)Since I've started to watch your channel. I Notice you have some serious MIC issues...
Not sure if it's in the camera.
You are constantly fading in and out...
Hope you can get it corrected.
I enjoy the videos .
What company is reselling these?
Love it more than the new edition
I beg to differ. The landcrusier sold so poorly because Americans are not asking for what would have likely be a 100k suv today if sold new. That's why nobody bought it and Toyota pulled it. The 250 finally starts to make sense but still overpriced. Yet lower prices is precisely the right direction. They just have to keep going.
no one bought them as Toyota only sold the top top luxury Trim LC200 in the U.S., as other markets had a basic utilitarian model think Toyota didn't want to cut into Sequoia sale for the same price $69k LC 200 or Sequoia TRD PRO today the Sequoia TRD PRO IS $83k so its Toyota's top model the LC 300 could be in the $70k range LC 250 / 1958 in the $60k range new 4Runner could stay under $50k like they are now
Come and buy ours, already lifted on icons
Man, I kept eyeing that 85 Supra in the background to the front passenger corner of the LC - I had an 85 Celica GTS in high school and always drooled over the Supra......of course now I'd rather have that LC HAHA
I had a 99 LX470 and rigged it out for camping etc. I bought it for 6500 with 200K and sold it with 300K I spend a lot of money on it but that ol 4 speed transmission was butter smooth and it ran like it was new.
Would you buy a GR Sport 300 series if they sold it here?
I would 100% 👌
me id go LC 300 GX 18" steelies , snorkel cloth seats just a basic utilitarian LC to go off road in.... no luxury car bits . they sale for about $108k auz with drive off aka sales tax fees and Number plates or $72k US id buy it over the extreme markup ' first edition " land cruiser
SMDH… we tooooooold you 😂
I'd LIKE to have a new car, but i can't find a compelling reason to swap out my LC100. Even with 240K miles on it everything works, every time.
Untamed: I think of this vehicle every single day and love this vehicle.
Also Untamed: So I sold the Land Cruiser for the elevendieth time, for this KIA Sorento, now hear me out…..
😂😂UTM…told u 🤦🏾♂️good ol Toyota quality Man U can’t beat that 😂 ..that bad boy is nice though 🤛🏾
New to here, first post so dont know whats allowed. Im in Cheyenne to, since you like the old, want to see a tundra crew lifted, supercharged with 8'bed, SLEE lifted LC 200, RCSB lifted smartcap, RCLB supercharged lifted? Everything could be for sale. Toyota nut like you.
Nice man! Yeah that’d be pretty awesome to do a video on. Shoot me a note on Instagram and we can coordinate something if you’re down. 👍
The Lexus version sells for less. Why not get one of those
only problem it looks too.outdated with design ,it looks like it is from 2005/6
If the new LC was a turbo 6 I would actually consider
Careful! Check Ben Hardy’s recent buy and it seems 21 may be a gamble.
I have the 2020 version of that exact same vehicle
Looks like a boss
I think a leftover 23 Armada might make more sense if you keep it for a while! For almost half the price!
yup, i went ahead and got an Armada, which has the bones of the overseas Patrol. that 200 series LC is one of a kind, but was/is way too expensive
@@JokerG16 armada should of been sold as the Nissan patrol more would be sold ,as we only had the top top luxury Trim level LC 200 in the U.S thats why no one bought them , now if the 2021 LC 200 would have been more utilitarian than 3 row luxury family school bus is what we wanted but at lower price..... it would of cut into Sequoia sales
@@JokerG16 Good choice! If all goes to plan I will be picking one up by the end of the year.
I’m looking also..
I want a 300 series diesel for my next vehicle
Sold my 2021 HE for $126,000. Tell us about that MKIV in the background.
Wow 😮 that’s wild… they did get extremely expensive for a minute there. Good call to sell then! I could do a video of that the next time I’m there. 👍
Is that the same 5.7 engine that’s in the Tundra ?
Essentially, yes, except the landcruiser 5.7 is built in Japan.
@CarGuyisCarGuy Is the 5.7 Tundra engine bulletproof or are they prone to cam tower leaks or timing chain tensioner problems ?
If you think this is the most reliable landcruiser, you should look into what Doug Demuro went through with his. He sold it for $35k btw.
you got rid of it 3 times? i mean once you can make a mistake or you were drunk or high but 3 times? if you never find another one you deserve that for selling it 3 times.
The old Supra, cool car
